For anyone in need of an incredible pool company, look no further. We've heard the nightmares and have had a few of our own. In every phase of this operation from the initial presentation, to discussions with office staff, to measuring the project, to the final installation, all of the Mid-State staff were exceptionally professional, on time with every detail, courteous, not mention the work was so well done. Every business out there can take a lesson from Mid-State Pool Liners on customer service. We just love the pool! Thank you so much.

We waited six weeks and as luck would have it, it was raining on installation day. We made the decision to have the liner installed and everything went off without a hitch. It was a crew of four and when I say the word teamwork? I mean it- these men never stopped and each one knew exactly what their role was. They had the pool pumped out in no time and the old liner out and the new one installed in about 4.5 hours. We couldn't have been happier. Midstate will come back to close the pool and install the safety cover in September

Perfect! The salesman was on time, removed his shoes because it was raining and left me with a written estimate. Installation day was great, 4 men came and set up 5 portable pools in my yard and started to empty my pool. It took about an hour and half to empty and in the meantime the men started to take the fixtures off. The new liner was installed and the hoses turned on to return my water to the pool as the men replaced the fixtures. Who would believe by 4pm my kids were swimming again. The estimate was slightly higher than the local pool companies but filling the pool with a garden hose would have cost hundreds of dollars and taken days to refill. The installers cleaned up everything. I would highly recommend this company.

I can't say enough positive things about Mid State. They were great to work with and went above and beyond. When we called because our 20 x 40 pool safety cover was shredded over about 25% of the area (we at first didn't know how this had happened) we wanted to get a quote from several vendors to replace the cover. Mid State was the first to respond to message left (contacted 5 vendors in total) and they were able to go out to our home the next day and provide a written quote! Dave (the owner), Evan (a service technician) and Sandi were all incredibly helpful with communication. My husband and I were both working and they still stuck to the schedule as promised and by 24 hours after the call we had a written estimate. In addition Dave was able to confirm that it was a deer that caused the damage and Evan suggested I reach out to our home owners insurance company. Evan went so far as to confirm that they had worked with insurance companies on this type of issue in the past and would be willing to assist. Their written quote and pictures provided were all the insurance company needed, they're clearly experts! Not only was their customer service by far the best of the 5 vendors we contacted, their price came in the lowest as well. We were so pleased to be working with them we obtained a quote for a full liner replacement that we need to do in the spring and paid the deposit to lock in their services (cost of services rendered in the review includes the cover and the liner). We have now completed the cover replacement and the entire process was as quick and convenient as obtaining the initial quote. I was initially concerned about the process of liner replacement and am now looking forward to completing that in May.

I was quite surprised and pleased with the way the job progressed. The crew of four arrived in the morning in about less than eight hours they had completed the job. They came and began pumping out the water. My liner was torn so the pool was not very full. They brought these huge pools. They pumped out all the water, some 9,000 gallons. The removed the torn liner. They then scraped off the bottom of the poll. They then proceeded to install the new coping. Once that was done they added the liner. The liner was then installed. The water was then pumped back in which saved me some time by having to add less water. I have to say the company did a great throughout the whole process. We bought our house in May of 2012 but did not move in until September of 2012. During that interrim I was doing repairs, painting and the such. I brought in a few contractors for various jobs. The pool being one. We did not get the job done in 2012 as there were other priority projects.David Freidman (the owner) was the one that came and did a great job of explaining what I needed. I had brought in a few others as well. He was in line with what other contractors were quoting me. The following year I had started the process over. This time I brought in a few others. I was planning to get more work done in the pool area. I wanted to get the patio and the concrete deck around the pool done. Most of the pool contractors did not do the concrete work and patio. I found a company (K&S Greenway) in Langhorne PA who stated they would do all the above. That was a disaster. I was very happy that I could get all the work done in one shot. Unfortunately after the quote and signing the initial paper they were very unresponsive. They would not give me a start date. After a month of chasing them down to give them my business I canceled the contract. So I wasted a poriton of the early summer as I had dealt with them May into mid-June.I then started again and found another company more local. They came and said it was no problem. They were going to do the patio as well. I never heard back from them. At this point I decided to go with Mid-State. They had come out a couple of times to address my concerns during the quoting process and the installation. I should have gone with Mid-State from the beginning, I would have enjoyed this summer season.

The project went very smoothly, especially impressive because a medical emergency took me out of my home on the first (and messiest) day of the project. Dave kept reassuring me each time I called to check in that everything would be fine, and it was. The team was professional and committed to doing an A-one job. They patiently coordinated their work with other contractors (mason, electrician, etc.) on the project. I am extremely pleased with the outcome of this project.

I found Mid state here on Angie's List and called them to set up an appointment to get an estimate. Frank from Mid state came out to give me an estimate. He walked me through the whole installation process and told me about some of the options such as a heavier liner and foam padding on the walls as well. My pool liner was at the end of its useful life and he told me my pool was in pretty good shape overall and the replacement was a straightforward job for them. He quoted me the price and took off the discount for Angie's list on the spot. I ended up calling them later that day to set up a date for installation. They came out a second day to measure the pool and dropped off liner samples and some promotional material from the pool liner manufacturer. The wife and I made a decision about which liner we wanted and ordered it a few weeks later. After that all we had to do was wait for the install date. When that day came the team from Mid state arrived on time and got to work setting up the holding pools and pumping the water out of the pool. They worked diligently to clean all the pool surfaces and then repair the pool base after the liner was removed. We ran into an issue with the water table filling the deep end of the pool but they were able to install a drain under the floor of the pool to pump that water away to allow completion of the work. This added $500 extra on the job -- would have been $3600 otherwise -- but considering the effort involved I thought it was a fair price. The team lead Luis communicated all this to me throughout the process so there were no surprises. All in all they did a great job, were friendly and got the job done quickly and saved almost all the water in pool which allowed us to get up and running almost immediately.

I am very pleased with Mid-State. I opened my pool this season; everything was fine. I was waiting for the water to clear up from winter storage so I could swim. I woke up one morning and my liner was torn severely in numerous places and the water was out of the pool I called Mid-State because of there Angie's List reviews. The owner, Dave Freidman came over. He was very pleasant with a "down to earth" attitude . He immediately knew what happened by the tears in the liner. He said a deer was in the pool and tore the liner to shreds with its hoofs. Since most of the water drained out, the wall buckled. He gave me an estimate and I booked the job with them. They had so many other jobs that they couldn't get to my pool until 8/12. Sandy and Evan who answered the phone were very polite and patient with me when I "whined" about the repair date. The men showed up on 8/12 and worked very hard non stop. They saved whatever water i had;very cleverThey did a great job!! I highly recommend them.

Mid State was one of the companies we chose based on the reviews we saw. Wow, I couldn't be more turned off at this point. When you are looking to spend so much money on a new pool and you cant even get them to call you back to come out and give you an estimate that's a pretty bad sign in my opinion. The first time I called the office, the lady told me some one would call me back within 24 hours, that didn't happen, I had to call back 3 days later and leave another message. A couple days later I get a call back and they tell me that they don't do pool installations another company does and I would have to call them. He then proceeded to ask if I would want them to call me and I said yes please. I get a call 3 days later asking if I had any days in mind to schedule the apt to get an estimate, The lady stated that should would have to get back to me and promised to call me within 24 hours. That was 5 days ago, need I say more. I have found 2 other companies on Angie's list with just as good ratings that have working very hard to earn my business. I would not recommend

Mid State Pool Liners was a real pleasure to deal with, beginning with the owner Dave, his office staff and work crew. The crew showed up Monday morning and proceeded to pump all my pool water into 3 smaller portable pools that the crew had setup earlier. Doing this is a real plus, saving time refilling the pool and all the work and chemicals needed to get the water chemistry to where it should be, it also makes them a Green Company. The crew proceeded to do their craft in a very methodical and efficient way and by the end of the day the pool was restored to almost new condition. Tuesday the crew proceeded to install the drainage system and do the patio repairs. They were very careful doing the trenching not to disturb any of the under ground sprinkler system. At the end of both days they cleaned up sweeping and washing down the patio, removing all debris to the point where it looked like they were never there. As you can see my experience with Mid State pool Liners went with out any incident or problem, the crew members were punctual, friendly and polite, and I highly recommend Mid State Pool Liners and would definitely use them again.

Let me open with the fact that I have had nothing but horrible experiences with pool companies. I have become very adept at maintaining and repairing my pool and equipment because I have come to not trust any of the guys local to me. That said, David Friedman, the owner and one of the crew chiefs from Mid State Pool Liners, came to me through an introduction from several mutual friends. The first thing I said to David when we met was "I have never met a pool guy I either like or trust, do me a favor and change my mind!" Maybe he considered it a challenge but the entire process could not have gone any more smoothly than it did. The weather this Spring was horrible here as it rained nearly every day for a month. Scheduling and adhering to one's schedule was nearly impossible. Add to that I had my own mason doing all of the concrete and block work around my pool and it threw another set of complications into an already difficult job. David and his crew(s) not only did everything they promised, they went above and beyond anything I could have ever expected. What these guys accomplished in such short periods of time just astounded me. I also work in the renovation business and I fully understand what he was up against, which included me and my 'just enough to get me in trouble' knowledge of the work he was doing for me. I've no doubt that David and I will be good friends after this project and that in and of itself says a lot to me as I am not a very easily satisfied customer.
Description of Work: Rebuilt my 40 year old in-ground pool in such a manner that it's going to last another 40 years! Replaced my liner Set concrete piers along side my existing pool walls that were bowing with time and anchored them with heavy turnbuckle systems into the concrete piers. This pool is set forever now. Replaced all my plumbing Installed a love seat and new steps. They had to cut walls and do some major modifications to accomplish this as I had the main stairs in and out of the pool moved from their original position. Installed a salt water chlorination system on my existing filter system Replaced my winter safety cover Worked with my mason to set new handrails accordingly and much more...

Very unprofessional. They arrived an hour late on sat to start the job. Then when the job was half completed they left without saying a word. They did not save our water as they advertise. They left our hose running and vacuum on. None of the filter component were cut out. We had no idea when to turn off the vacuum or the hose. We were forced to run around on sunday and ask other pool companies what we should do. No one got back to us from mid state. We had to call them again to find out what was happening. They said they would find out and call us back. Guess what? They didn't we had to call them again. They said the person doing the job knocked on our door but didn't get a response. Not true our door was opening. He had no problem getting us when he pressured us to spend an extra $450 on wall padding. Then lied and said he left a message on our cell phone. Really? Cell phone records are so easy to get to prove he is lying. Ok well when are they coming back to finish the job? Oh not for a couple of days they're on to their next job before completing ours. I am so disgusted with this company. We asked multiple times to speak to the owner. He never called! We are filing a complaint with better business. Please don't use them, you will regret it.

$4,300

Response from Mid State Pool Liners Inc
In response to [member name removed] rather abrasive write-up of our company, we would like deal with her complaints item by item. • The first item was total cost of job – she stated it was $4,300 this is incorrect. We were paid a total of $3,850. • The next item, we are at all times very professional. We honored last year’s pricing, it was over a year since our initial estimate was given. When [member name removed] had a problem with one of the items that was necessary and stated as so in the original estimate, that being the foam padding, we removed the charge from the final total. We did the job properly/professionally and she has at no time stated any problems with our workmanship or materials. And at the end, when the office reviewed the final details, she was filled with anger and had nothing but derogatory comments. We did not reciprocate the negative attitude but instead tried to work with her. • About arriving an hour late, we always start an hour later on Saturdays to give our crews a little bit of a break, we work six days a week, and whatever hours it takes to complete the jobs. Besides we have no official start time at a job site because every job has different prep and travel times. • Saying we left the job half finished is another incorrect statement when the crew did everything they could complete at that time, they knocked on the door, thinking they were still at home, when no one answered they called [member name removed] cell phone [member information removed] but missed dialed and actually called [member information removed]. We have the Sprint records dating July 20, 2013 at 4:24pm (for one minute and 5 seconds), a message was left. • About saving water, it was our intention to set up four containers of water to save a large percentage of the water. When the crew attempted to set up the containers, the slopes were too steep and made it unsafe to set up more than two containers. We explained this to them and at that time they were very understanding about the situation. • Unless a pool is filled you need to have a vacuum holding the liner in place and the water filling from the house. This is standard industry procedure and we have no idea why this bothered her. • You can’t cut the fittings out until the pool is filled because it will cause stress problems in the liner and leakage in the future, again standard procedure. • Because we left a message on the wrong phone, there was no way for them to know when to shut the vacuums, our goof. Not done intentionally, I guess we are not perfect. • About calling other pool companies about what they should do, again, we thought we left a message on the right phone. • About not getting back to them, we were expecting a call from them when the pool was full, again this goes back to us leaving a message on the wrong phone. • The next negative comment was that our guys did not knock on the door, and that the door was open. They did knock and basically [member name removed] is calling our guys liars. This particular crew chief has at least 7 years experience and if he was dishonest would not have lasted this long with us. • Our employee, Leo, is one of the most polite and soft spoken people I have ever had the pleasure to deal with, he would never “pressure” anyone to do any unnecessary work. I, David Friedman, President of Mid State Pool Liners, checked off the foam padding as one of the necessary items to complete the job correctly. Leo said the reason for the foam would be to protect the liner from the rotted/pitted aluminum walls which he pointed out to them. They approved the foam installation and signed for that item on the contract. • And now [member name removed] is again calling our guys liars, referring to the message that he left. Maybe [member name removed] should be a psychologist because she seems to know more about people that she has met only once, than we were able to figure out in 2,555 days (7 years) that being “Leo The Liar’s” employment record. • When it comes to finishing jobs that are not completed the first day, there is always going to be some delays. This particular job started on Saturday, we do not work on Sunday, Monday they were unable to return to complete the job but did complete it on Tuesday, not an unreasonable amount of time. Just a side note, there have been more records broken this year when it comes to rainfall than in any recent years. In conclusion, we feel that we have treated [member name removed] fairly and professionally. We contracted and performed everything that was stated on that contract with precision. They, because of a mistaken phone call, distorted all the goodwill and efforts we put into their job. They in their own minds conjured up some evil thoughts about how we operate our business and spewed nothing but negativity through their public forum outbursts. Our record speaks for itself, we have excellent write-ups from hundreds of our past customers and we also rank near or at the top of all the major referral agencies. We will continue to service our customers with the same high standards that have been our “modus operandi” for over 44 years. Thank you Angie’s List for supporting us and giving us an opportunity to respond.

The only issue was they did not show up as scheduled which was a struggle for me as I had ordered the delivery of two 6500 gallons loads of water to fill up the pool for the time of job completion. It turned out to work out pretty well as the owner and two employees did their best to finish the job on time. They did a great job. The owner did most of the delicate parts and pushed the two others to their limits but in a very friendly way.I am very pleased with the results. I would recommend Mid-State Pool Liners, Inc. to anybody who wants a " top quality job" I am still waiting for the invoice though.

When we purchased our house we inherited a previously functioning in-ground pool. The lining in the pool was badly damaged and after going on Angie's list and looking at all of the reviews for various companies, we decided to go with Mid State Pool Liners. The gentleman who initially came out to give an estimate was very knowledgeable and helpful in determining the type of liner that would be best for my pool and gave me some suggestions to save money by painting the coping around the pool myself. They had a myriad of liner selections to choose from, so we needed time to think about which one to choose. Once we arrived at a decision we called the office and confirmed an installation date. A few days later another gentleman arrived to take measurements and dropped off samples of the actual liner material (styles) that would be used. When the installation date arrived, the workers showed up on time and began to immdediately remove the old liner and clean out the disgusting mess that had accumulated at the bottom of the pool due to rain and weather elements. After the old liner was removed they assessed the walls and they suggested the option of installing the new liner as is or having them install a foam padding to provide better protection. It was an additional costly addition, but we thankfully decided to go with the padding. After the vacuum attached the liner to the pool, we notified the workers that we would be getting water trucks to come in the same day to fill the pool up as quickly as possible. They left their machinery there and we followed their instructions as to when they were to be shut down. They then told us they'd return the next day to examine the liner and verify that is has been installed correctly and without problems. As promised, the workers arrived to my house the next day and inspected the liner making sure everything was done correctly. Additionally, in the pouring rain, they remained on my premises and worked on installing my new motor. They pointed out that the chlorinator was damaged and suggested I changed it. Once I was told the price, I agreed and they remianed on the premises to install the chlorinator as well. After the installation was done, they took the time to show us how everything worked and how to operate the machinery, which we were very grateful for. The actual pool liner installation process took approximately 4 hours from start to finish. The machine installations and trim pieces for the pool took about 45 minutes on the next day. The pool looks brand new and I am beyond happy with the results. The installers were courteous, polite, helpful, and did a great job! The staff in the office were also very helpful and a joy to speak with. I absolutely recommend Mid State Pool Liners to everyone who need pool liner work!

This is the first time I had to replace my liner in my 20x40 inground pool, so based on feedback from others on Angie's List I decided to try Mid State Pool Liners. The gentleman who initially came out to give an estimate was very helpful in determining the type of liner that would be best for my pool and gave me some suggestions to save money by painting the coping around the pool myself. They did have quite a few selections of liner styles available, so it took a little while to decide. Once I decided to go ahead with the work I called the office and was given a date for installation. Several days later they came to take measurements and dropped off samples of the actual liner material (styles) that would be used. When the scheduled date arrived, the workers showed up on time and began setting up 5 holding pools to save the pool water. After pumping all of the water out of the pool they removed the liner and found that 2 areas of the steel wall were rusted due to water seeping behind the old liner. They gave me the option of installing the new liner as is or having them install padding to provide better protection. Although a little expensive $550 for what it is( foam padding), I decided to have the padding installed. The whole process from start to finish was completed in 6 hours and I am very happy with the results. The pool looks brand new and as part of the job they also replaced the trim pieces on the main inlet pipe, the 2 outlet pipes and the 2 skimmers. The installers were courteous, polite, helpful, and did a great job!

They were professional. They came out when they were supposed to. I have not had a problem. I recommend them. The price was mid-line. They initially quoted me a higher price. When I told them about the other bids I got, they lowered the price.
Description of Work: I used Mid State Pool Liners Inc. I found them on Angie's list. They installed a heater in my pool two weeks ago.
