+ 2 moreCraig's knowledge and expertise transformed an extremely overgrown and neglected backyard and back hill area. We were completely overwhelmed as to what to do. Craig sketched out a beautiful hill garden plan. His team worked incredibly hard and were meticulous in placing plants, shrubs, trees, boulders and walkways. The result was a gorgeous zen-like rock garden and grill area! In addition, we now have a "natural material" stairs from the driveway to the front and an amazing flagstone walkway to the backyard. Craig and his team were prompt, efficient, and totally cleaned up after themselves each of the 3 days. Craig delivered MORE than what he promised!

We ultimately did not use the company simply due to budget issues on our side, but would definitely use them in the future.

+ 1 moreExcellent design, Craig is a wonderful professional. Great suggestions for bushes, and kept to his warranty. However, bushes should've been planted in larger holes w/ more peat/soft soil. Beds could've been raised a bit more. Suggested smaller bushes because they'd grow and he was correct. Overall very satisfied and would use him again.

+ 3 moreWe have owned our house for a little over two years and our current landscaper was not up to the task to keep the property at the level we wanted and at the time we met with Craig a wedding was planned to occur at the house in 5 weeks. Craig provided an estimate within 24 hours after we met with him. His price was not the lowest, but we decided to hire Craig because he is a landscaper designer and there is a lot of work we want to do on our property, now and in the future. We have also learned that hiring the cheapest vendor can sometimes turn out to be a disaster. The old adage you get what you pay for. Craig said that he would be able to complete the job in two days, which included an extensive cleanup of our property, planting numerous mums and other fall flowers, mulching where necessary, realigning a portion of our patio, some small mortar repairs, installing Delaware river rocks to our driveway entrance etc. Craig and his crew of about 10-15 showed up on time and as promised within two days all of the work was completed, including adding some additional plantings to replace some of the dead plants that were removed. After he was done our property had never looked so good. We look forward to continue to work with Craig in the future.
Description of Work: a complete clean-up of our property, planted mums and fall flowers and mulched all of the flower beds and necessary areas throughout the property in preparation for a wedding to be held at the house.

+ 1 moreOverall it went well. I was a bit surprised the entire job was being done that day though. I'm also having a fence installed and wanted just one area leveled off a bit and a couple of small trees removed for the fence guys. Well the best laid plans of mice and men as they say. I had been assured the landscaper and fence installer were communicating about this deviation in the process, but Craig was ready to go all in, so that's what happened. I'm still quite pleased with the outcome after such a long rain delay. Again, the only misgivings I have at the moment is some of the underground drip hoses may not be working properly, and the fact my fence goes in this Wednesday. I just hope the fence guys (another Angie's List vendor, Ecosystems), don't trample my beautifully landscaped borders! Crossing my fingers this doesn't become a bad experience.
Description of Work: Rain, rain go away and come again some other day! This unusually wet Spring kept the job I contracted for back in April from beginning until this heatwave hit. Anyway, the work finally began on July 11th and was completed the same day. Craig brought 3 crews and they tore out the entire yard, made borders, laid sod, and put in landscape rocks/boulders/stones to make the oasis I (or should I say Craig) envisioned. He's an interesting man (let the artiste do his thing), and he does know his craft. His crew did all of this work by hand as my yard is inaccessible with the little bobcat thingy. It's obvious they are all consummate professionals and the main goal is to get the job done. I sincerely appreciate Craig staying on the job the entire time! I was duly impressed and grateful for his presence. I'm a bit concerned with some of the drip irrigation though. Three plants are almost dead and it's only been 4 days. I've been watering the shrubs and lawn 2 hours a day, 2x daily, but those plants are not going to make it. I haven't called him yet, but he says he's only a phone call away. He seemed genuine about standing behind his product, so I'm looking forward to a favorable outcome.

+ 6 moreCraig's artistic transformation of both the back and front yards of our 38 year old house significantly enhanced its curb appeal. His creative approach to solving a significant drainage issue is not only functional but very pleasing to the eye. Craig's suggestion of using travertine stone resulted in and extremely beautiful patio. We have received many compliments on the workmanship including that of a local mason who wanted to know the name of his competition. Needless to say we are very pleased the efforts put in by Craig and his very efficient crew.
Description of Work: Backyard, - Eliminated backyard standing water issue via installation of subsurface 4" perforated pipe by connecting to storm sewer. The pipe was placed inside a filtration sock and surrounded with clean stones and decorative stones were installed on the surface followed by regrading. A beautiful rock garden was created above the drainage area utilizing boulders and river stones with strategically and artistically placed perennials and grasses. - Constructed a travertine stone patio that included a 36" wood burning stone fire pit. - Landscaped the area around the patio as well as the back area around the house and deck that included perennial plants, bushes and a tree. Front Steps and Walkway -Removed and disposed of existing concrete steps, slabs and rail road tie walls -Constructed new front steps out of blue stone risers and landing areas -Moved walkway away from the house to create a gradual approach -Retaining walls and raised bets constructed from Kearny rock with mortarless joints. -Downspouts and leaders and gutters were redirected underground and extended away from the house Landscaping of house front -Shrubs, trees, perennials and ground covers were artistically laid lout -Decorative boulders were strategically located -Landscape lighting to illuminate the front and trees as well as accent lighting along the steps were installed to for better visibility -Multi transformer and timer installed Sprinkler system -New timer installed and defective sprinkler heads were replaced. -Drip lines installed in new beds in both the front and rear of the house.

+ 1 moreI saw Craig's work in a neighbor's yard and HAD to use him for my yard. I had Craig install a massive retaining wall in my front yard. I also had him landscape the area. He and his brother worked in conjunction with 14 other workers on site using bobcats, etc. They maneuvered enormous boulders up the hill and into place. Craig planted MANY trees, bushes, plants. I had trouble with one tree which he immediately replaced. The job took only 1.5 days. Aside from the yard looking beautiful, the crew left no mess behind - the place was spotless. To see the quality of his work I suggest you look at his website for samples. He also recommended Ecosystems for the sprinkler system(another excellent company). I gave Craig all A's with one B for price. His work is perfection - the best of the best so I guess you have to pay for this absolute quality of workmanship. I have no regrets.
