Description of Work: 5 years ago, this company put a new roof on my house. They did a wonderful job at a reasonable price. I few weeks ago, I needed a repair of an issues that was not their fault . ( damage was done by the people who sided my house 3 years later). I called John and it was fixed right away.

Description of Work: John replaced a skylight window for me. He was prompt, courteous, clear in his description of the work to be provided- a true professional throughout!

Description of Work: replaced roof and 2 skylights. John pointed out problems that had been there since the house was built 25 years ago, and will return to repair those problems.

Description of Work: They removed my existing slate shingles and replaced them with asphalt shingles. It was a very long process to actually get them to come to do the work. They came to the house 4 or 5 times for estimating. It was such a long and annoying process that I almost decided to just not have the work done but the price was so good that I decided to go with them. | |The actual work only took two days. They had a lot of men working and my house is very small so it was quick.

Description of Work: We had a leak near the chimney and some loose shingles in another location. The contractor set up the job in a very timely manner, and completed the work as promised. The price was fair. I'd recommend them.

Description of Work: I have been finding water in the middle of my basement floor right underneath the dining room. Examining the dining room ceiling, I felt the ceiling was slightly soft. John Asch came over, said "There's no stains, no rood leak." He then suggested I go into the attic (it's really small, and I'm not) or he could have his guys go up there (for $100+) to see if there was any problem. He obviously didn't want the work. |Weeks later, we heard a drip, and the ceiling was even softer. Got someone else who walked the roof for 10 minutes, found the problem, and fixed it. |Don't use this guy. He's too full of himself.

Description of Work: He called me back and lectured me for 5 minutes never once asking any questions but only wanted to SELL me a new skylight. Did not let me get ONE word in; only at the end when I told him how rude he was! All I needed was 5 minutes of dialogue to ask questions before an estimate but this guy obviously does not care about business -- he is arrogant and rude. Don't bother...

Description of Work: After several calls, we finally heard back from this company, who came out to give us an estimate for a new skylight and new gutters. He was, at least, on time. However, as soon as he entered the house he launched into a monologue about how we needed a new roof. We could barely get a word in edgewise, since he seemed to want to just hear himself pontificate on how who ever did our roof is an idiot and blah blah blah. We aren't against getting some roof work done, or even a new roof, if needed, but when someone comes in with a rude, pushy attitude, they won't be getting our money.

Description of Work: John and his entire crew were knowledgable and courteous. I thought I needed new gutters but John said mine would last another twenty years. He repaired my old ones with hangars (original bolts were coming out). I also needed a new roof. It turned out that I needed all new plywood for my job. John gave me very reasonable price for this unanticipated development. I saw the plywood that was taken off and there was no question that it was necessary. Job finished in a timely manner and very professionally done. I would gladly recommend John Asch. John is direct and to the point. If you are looking for hearts and flowers and alot of BS maybe not a good choice for you. If you are looking for straight talk and quality work at a fair price this is your guy.

Description of Work: We had a leak and found this contractor through Angie's List. He was very prompt, professional, courteous and gave advice without the usual conflict of interest (e.g. he said our roof was badly installed, but did not say that we should replace it through him -- he indicated it would probably last about 5-7 years but could have lasted much longer had it been properly installed).

Description of Work: Flashing needed to be replaced as it had blown off and was in bad shape.
