DAVE'S APPLIANCE REPAIR

Description of Work: We have used Dave's Appliance Repair before. He is professional, very punctual and looks out for the consumer. Our oven wasn't lighting. Dave came and pulled out the circuit board and said these run about $400 to replace. BUT, he examined the board, said "This connection doesn't look good", he resoldered the bad connection and it's been fine since. he also repaired our washing machine during the same visit.

Description of Work: We called Dave on New Years Eve to repair our clothes washer. The top piece on the center agitator on our Speed Queen washer had broken. Dave was away for the holiday but called immediately upon his return as hs answering machine message promised. We discussed the problem and he did a search fro a replacement part which was not available. Dave promised to do a little research online and then call us back. About an hour later, he called and gave us a part number that we could order from Sears for about $15. He thought it would work and that we could install it ourselves. We ordered it and it snapped right on. Dave was courteous, helpful and certainly saved us money with his honesty and extra effort. We will call him immediately next time we have a repair problem.

Description of Work: He replaced a part that was worn out. |I could not have known what was wrong but he knew it immediately and also had the part with him. The service was done very swiftly and he is really experienced. I would call him again for the service. Pleasant man with courtesy.

Description of Work: After trouble shooting, Dave determined clothes dryer needed a new timer. Had to order part which Dave picked up that evening so it could be installed the following day. He returned the next morning and the dryer has been working fine since.

Description of Work: Dave diagnosed the problem very quickly. The washing machine in question was beyond repair. Dave, did suggest a couple of reliable vendors and brands.

Was told that board had to be replaced... $400 |I hesitated whether to get it fixed or just buy a new unit for about $800. Decided to get it fixed, few days later, unit stopped working, Dave came back and found another problem, so another $100 was charged. Few days later, unit stopped working again, Dave came back and replaced the board again ( he didn't charged me the third time, he said it was bad luck, the replacement board was also defective). Unit is still working as of today. |So mixed review here, for $500 total, I should have just bought a new unit... |would I use this service again?.... Yes - but not for this refrigerator. |Bad luck or not...Dave was nice person to deal with.

Description of Work: I found Dave's Number and decided to call him even though it was 10:42PM on a Thursday evening. I left a message and surprisingly Dave returned my call around 11:00PM. We spoke and made arrangements for the following morning. Dave was prompt and courteous. He was also honest regarding the work required to return my gas dryer to its former glory. The job took approximately 20-30 minutes and the dryer works perfectly. I would certainly call Dave again but hopefully I won't have to. (sorry Dave). Thanks for the service. I'll certainly refer you to others.
