In the late fall / early winter of 2008, Fania Roofing Company completed our roof and gutter replacement project on our crca-1930 stucco and stone Tudor home in Summit, NJ. Five years later, my wife and I are still most pleased with the results. Aesthetically, the new roof ?softens? the appearance of our home, since the new, natural, preservative pressure-treated cedar shingles are much lighter in color than the 78-year old original weathered shingles that had been stained over the years to a very dark charcoal grey color. The new copper flashing, gutters, leaders and downspouts provides a nice natural-weathering metallic accent while also providing a long-term quality solution for their function. The overall result is a much more appropriate roof and gutter system that accentuates the style of the house. We have received many compliments about the completed roof from friends and neighbors who agree with our sentiments. Over the past 5 years, with exposure to the usual weather, as well as several severe wind storms, including Storm Sandy, as well as all of the accumulated winter snow, the new roof and gutter system are working as intended with no leaks. As an Architect now working in Construction Management, I pride myself of having a trained ?eye? as well as the experience of seeing multiple designs go from paper to reality and learning what works and what does not. I appreciated the representatives that I worked with from Fania Roofing Co. taking their time to explain their opinions and suggestions on how a certain detail may be constructed differently to provide a better end result that may save time and/or money, without compromising the quality of the roof. While the overall cost of this project was quite expensive I believe that I did get a fair deal. Considering all of the work they had to do as originally intended roof replacement, we then had to add the cost of the additional necessary structural repair, replacement or stiffening work to the original cost quote. Ultimately, their suggestions for modifications to my initial ideas, ongoing recommendations and answers to my questions, based on their time-tested experience, proved to be the right choices and have resulted in the best possible roof solution for our home. Upon completion of the work, I offered to Fania Roofing Co. to serve as a reference for Fania Roofing Co. and all of their staff associated with our roof project. This collaborate approach was evident in their assistance in the preliminary planning and ongoing evolution of the project details, as well as for Joe Smahaj and his entire crew for their excellent quality roof and gutter installation work. I have to commend everyone that I have dealt with at Fania Roofing Co. for their professionalism, expertise, accuracy, fairness and overall ability to produce what they promise, when they promised it. I selected this company after interviewing and considering two other qualified competitors because I truly believed that their process and the quality of their work would be far superior, while costing about the same. I really appreciated Fania?s attention to details, beginning with preparing an in-depth written proposal that included an extensive project scope of work and itemized specification that we were able to evolve into our formal agreement for the project. While our original intention to have a new slate roof installed was ultimately determined to not be feasible due to the extensive structural augmentation that would have been required in certain visible parts of our house, we are most satisfied with the resulting new premium-grade, cedar shingle roof.

They removed 6 layers of tiles, lined the roof with rubber flashing and new brass, replaced broken tiles and finished the roof. Incredible job
