I contacted doctor energy and John responsed right way. They came out and did an amazing job! John explained everything to us and completed the job without any problems. They cleaned everything up and then explained other things we can do to winterize. Overall we are highly satisfied and will definitely recommend to others.

There were a few hiccups, but John was very responsive and returned promptly to fix any issues.

John is very knowledgeable about insulation techniques. He is genuinely enthusiastic about fixing problems and making the house warmer. He went above and beyond what we had agreed on in the estimate and fixed a few additional problems we found later for no extra charge. He does a quality job and takes pride in his work. His goal seems to be for his customers to notice a perceptible difference in how warm the house is and how much the heating costs have been lowered. He is very focussed on customer satisfaction since most of his work is through word of mouth or good reviews on Angie's list. After I paid the deposit, he was quick to schedule and do the work which was completed under a week after. His estimates were substantially lower than the others and he did everything he could to reduce the cost of the project by recommending only necessary and impactful work and not being wasteful. I would recommend Doctor Energy Smart if you have a cold house and want it insulated without breaking the bank.

John was very thorough and shot foam from the outside of the house. Worked inside also, work was very clean and John was extremely professional and helpful!

I am very impressed with John and his crew. I am a first time home-buyer and have really researched a lot of different companies for various services- including insulation when I noticed that my closet during the first real cold snap was colder than my freezer! I phoned Doctor Energy Smart and John (the President) was very responsive to my questions and came out to my home to inspect the area and make recommendations. John is very helpful and knowledgeable- and doesn't try and oversell. He focused on the problem area(s) of my home and the insulation has made a huge difference. John also goes out of the way to make sure the customer is happy not only with the services of his company but with the end product. I pointed out an area in my front hall closet to John- and he immediately fixed the area. He also was able to spray foam my hollow wood door leading to my attic and re-seal the inside of the door- which made an immediate impact. In conclusion- there is a lot of competition for insulation services- who doesn't want to be more comfortable in the winter- but I do recommend John- because of his knowledge and his customer focus. I would not hesitate to contact him again for any questions or additional services.

John Weinssen was fantastic. He was so knowledgeable about the insulation process. He and his workers were professional, curtious, and polite. I live in a twin home and had a problem with the smell of cigarette smoke coming into my half to the twin. Even though John had never heard of this happening before, he was able to diagnose the problem and fix it. Awesome for me because I have asthma. Thanks so much John!!

John and team did exactly what they set out to do. Insulated our crawlspace with Tiger Foam foam insulation and then added a foil seal over the floor joists to provide a better R-Value. They made a long trek to get here and when the first attempt didn't work due to equipment issues and cold temperatures, John and team made a promise to come back the following weekend to do the job property. John ensured the job was done right which was important to us.

Doctor Energy Smart, led by the owner, John Weinssen, came and insulated our attic and soffits. He used a reflective foil radiant barrier that actually redirects the heat generated in our attic back out our attic vents. Our home has become much cooler and drier since we had this done in July. His installation has completely changed the comfort inside our home. It has actually substantially lowered our AC usage and lowered our electric bill! If you are looking for comfort and reduced cost, Doctor Energy Smart is your company. John is moving his business down from New Jersey and we recommend everyone insulate their house with his revolutionary insulation system.

It went very smooth. We cleared a 4 ft perimeter around the house as John specified and they came right in and laid out coverings for the floor and furniture. The whole process only took about 4-5 hours. They cleaned up and patched up the holes in the walls with one coat of Spackle as described in the quote. John was very punctual and thoroughly followed up with us prior to the job taking place. Looking forward to a warmer and quieter house moving forward. It's just day one and I can definitely tell the house is quieter. We're half a block away from Rt 17 and the sound of the highway has significantly been reduced. We may even use their services when we finish our basement next year.

Very well, it feels much more comfortable inside on hot and cold days since the install. John was able to find issues and targetted the problems with a thermal imaging camera. The whole project was done in under a day.

John was great and very informative.

John was incredibly responsive from the time we purchased the Angies List deal. He came by the house twice, the first time to walk the entire house and provide an estimate. The second time to actually insulate the space. On the walkthrough John made several suggestions for how we could improve the efficiency of our home. When it came time for insulating he did the job quickly and cleanly. We've already noticed a difference in the house as it cools down. We were very happy with John's professionalism and timeliness. We've already recommended him personally to a friend in the area.

I shopped around and Doctor Energy Smart has a great rate for the work I had done. I met with a few spray foam insulation specialists and John was very informative and straight forward. I highly recommend Doctor Energy Smart if you are having insulation work done.

I got everything I wanted out of it at this point. John was very flexible with how large or small of a job to do, starting with the biggest problem areas first. With the camera, he noticed that the front walls of my old 1930's house and the gaps between the sill beams were the worst spots of heat loss. Instead of requiring that I do a whole house 15k + job, he had no problem with fixing the problem areas first. If I need more after this winter, I can get more walls done. During the sill beam work, the crew found a wood rot problem I had on one corner of the house, causing a wider hole than just the small air leaks around the rest of the house. This was the root cause of some water issues I had in my unfinished basement. The gap was plugged and the water problems are no longer existing. The crew stayed late to fix this unseen problem, at my appreciation. I have already noticed that the furnace hasn't had to kick on at all in the last couple of weeks with 45 degree nights (October). I'm looking forward to seeing some big savings in the cold months.

The project was completed in two stages. Stage 1 10/4/2014: John and Roberto came to spray spray foam at house main sill and basement walls on 10/4; assessed and recommended improvements to attic/roof insulation. Stage 2 10/11-12/2014: John and Roberto returned the following weekend to remove original 73 year old insulation on day 1, returning on day 2 to spray foam and install foil throughout. Summary: John, Roberto and another helper worked quickly and efficiently, being very professional throughout the project. John was very helpful and very willing to answer all of our questions and to explain the physics of the new treatment and to evaluate our home for any future areas that may need attention. Although based in northern New Jersey, John was very willing to take the 2 hour drive to us in southern New Jersey, arriving exactly on time. The team was very careful and neat in their work. We highly recommend their work and would use them again if needed.

Himself and his crew arrived on a Friday afternoon, they went to work immediately. Doctor Energy Smart and crew spent nearly 12 hours removing all my old insulation in my upstairs. The following days were both about 12 hour days for him and his crew. While part of his crew was removing insulation, some workers were repairing soffits. The entire crew was pleasant and respectful. Himself and his crew made a typically stressful situation into an easy one. They were even able to remove the old insulation threw a window, thankful that I have that option. This allowed them to remove it without dragging it through my home. I highly recommend him to anyone looking to replace their insulation. I can truly feel the difference in my upstairs rooms. It has definitely made my house more comfortable overall.

During the summer the temperature in the attic can be unbearable. John and his team worked so hard! I cannot imagine working in the environment with 140 degrees, but they did it! Shortly after they fixed the attic "breathing" problem, I can feel the cooling in the bedrooms upstairs. I highly recommend John to those who are interested in having home insulated. I think John knows the correct way of insulating the house without preventing necessary air flows through the attic.

John explained things very clearly over the phone when I first called to inquire about the possibility of adding insulation and how it could be done. We set up a date and everything went smooth. The quote was fair (I compared around). John was on time, always pleasant and patient. Everything was as cleaned up when he finished. Very satisfied with the process!

We had an issue with cold floors in the space above the unheated garage. Jim and John came out and suggested the scope of work required to rectify the issue. After doing my own research their suggestions did make sense and we proceeded with the project. They were very responsive and professional, actually above and beyond of anything i have ever experienced from any contractor. John had came out one of the Saturday to conduct a thermal analysis (at no charge) of the house. When we found the weak spots he suggested all the fixes and helped me caulked the baseboard which was the largest part of the job. Jim also came out for an extra few hours the day after the job was completed to make sure all was well and helped me reuse the old insulation ion another part of the garage. If you are looking to make your home energy efficient spray foam is the way to go and Doctor Energy Smart are the guys to do it.

They did an outstanding job from end-to-end, from pre-sales and site assessment through installation and billing, with professionalism and courtesy, and at a reasonable price. Their knowledge of the benefits of spray-foam insulation and its advantages over traditional batting insulation was excellent and their approach to focus on the perimeter of the foundation and sill-plate was not only more cost-effective (vs. spray-foaming the entire underside area where the batting was before), it has better overall insulation/thermal performance; this made the decision to use their product and service much easier for me. Since I’m a bit picky about materials and their safety and potential health-effects (e.g. low-toxicity, low-flammability, environmentally-friendly), I contacted the manufacturer of the spray foam to ensure that my requirements were being met. Dr. Energy Smart® did select the best product for my application. They also did a vapor barrier assessment of my crawl space floor to ensure that the spray foam could be used in the correct location so that I would not have future mold issues in my crawl space after installation. The installers were also knowledgeable, skillful, professional, and did a great job, including adding spray-foam in a few strategic spots that were where pipes and electrical wires went up into my first floor and second floor. The billing process went smoothly and their office manager Kate was also very nice and knowledgeable. She resolved a non-taxable item that saved me even more money. I highly recommend Dr. Energy Smart for spray foam insulation home improvement based on my experience with them.
