Inititally they came in a few hours of me calling them. When the repairman got to my house he spent a lot of time calling other technicians to find out what might be wrong with the machine. He told me that a fuse broke and he talked to me for about 20 minutes about why I should replace the entire piece instead of just the fuse. Basically, he said if the fuse went again I'd have to replace the entire piece, which was $100, paying his service fee twice. I agreed even though I knew any other company would just replace the $6 fuse that day. He ordered the bigger part which was delivered to my house in two days. But now (after I had paid him in full - about $269) he couldn't come back for three more weeks. This left my family without a washing machine for three weeks. If I had called any other company I know the washer would have been fixed that day for much less. Don't call these guys!
Description of Work: A&E came to fix my Maytag washing machine. They advertised themselves as a certified Maytag repair company.

Very well...super friendly technician...arrived on time. Pump did go 2 months later and they came to fix again .under warranty in a timely fashion. So far, so good. Unfortuntely, the second visit we waited all day and they went to house two doors down. They did however make it shortly thereafter. Said they had wrong address but all paperwork had correct address...little bit of a run around. We are happy with the work.

This story is too long and too upsetting to repeat in exact detail. A summary follows: 1) Number of technicians that came to fix but didn't know how to = 10-12 2) Number of appointments that we have had to make (and days off from work)= 18-20 3) Number of hours spent with the technician explaining what we know about the problem = 12-14 4) Number of technicians that exited our house when we weren't looking=1 5) Number of no show appointments = 2-3
Description of Work: THE DISHWASHER IS STILL NOT FIXED BUT WE PAID THIS COMPANY TO FIX IT. A&E is the worst most unprofessional company we have ever dealt with. We paid to have our Fischer Paykel dishwasher fixed 16 months ago and it is still not fixed. Company doesn't show for appointments, when they do the techs do not know how to fix so they send for another part and another appointment with us and another person comes to try to fix and same pattern is repeated. We have had more than 20 appts and have nearly every part possibly involved and still it is broken.

My washer wound up turning on once the repair guy got to my home but I was charged no fees because I have a contract with them. I did like the guy they sent out. I was comfortable having him in my home and he was very nice and personable. It is worth it for me to have a contract with this company because they are responsive and available and that's what you need in an appliance repair company these days.
Description of Work: A & E was here just last week. I called them because my washer was simply not turning on. I have an annual service contract with them each year that covers the costs of any washer repairs I may have.

A & E disappointed me. They firstly misdiagnosed the problem. Secondly, they charged me a lot of money. Their scheduling department is a mess because it is computerized. They ordered the wrong part to repair my dishwasher also. I will not be using them again.
Description of Work: A & E repaired my Maytag dishwasher. The thermostat was not heating. They replaced some parts to resolve the problem.

THEY FAILED AT FIXING THE REFRIGERATOR. THEY NEVER FOUND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. WE COULD NEVER REACH THEM. THEY CAME OUT SEVERAL TIMES SAYING THAT THE REFRIGERATOR NEEDED A DIFFERENT PART EACH TIME. I WOULD NOT USE THEM AGAIN.
