Description of Work: We had them install a 4-ton 18 SEER Amana air conditioning unit in our home. The process went well & the people who worked at our house were very easy to deal with. They cleaned up as they went, arrived when they said they would come, and were pleasant to deal with. We haven't actually needed to use the AC yet, but I have confidence in the company and the product.

Description of Work: We had great service from Speer Air over 2 years ago and as a new Angie's List subscriber when I was thinking about what companies stood out in my mind Speer Air was first! We purchased our first home, a foreclosure. The duct work for central AC was there but no unit. After contacting many companies and getting estimates for basically the same unit ranging from $2,500 to $8,000 we decided to wait to install the unit due to the high interest rates the companies were charging for financing. PSE&G was able to offer an installment plan that could be added to our energy but the total cost would have been double what Speer and many other companies wanted to charge so no bargain there.... I called the companies that we received estimates from and explained that since we just purchased the house we could not be trapped into high interest payments and would work on it again the next year. We got a call from the salesperson and they were able to let us put a fair amount down and let us set up a no interest payment plan for 1 year which we gratefully complied with! Speer Air was amazing! The work was quick, the work was professional and they were absolutely wonderful. Luckily, we have not had to have service but I will post back should it occur but I honestly expect we will encounter the same quality, professional service!!!

Description of Work: used this company for a new carrier unti in 2008. again in 2010 with a terrible experince. day 1 salesman (Kevin) undersized unit and they had to delay to get correct unit. cut outs in my beautiful tray ceiling in bedroom done uneven because they told me the company "does not supply rulers"--had to be resheetrocked. outside piping for new duct work left opened which allowed mice to enter my attic. owned 24/7 premier golden serivce contract which they never would respond to. spent 3 days with a leak down my side of my house and got no answer from them. finally, they did repair and it leaked again in 3 days due to wrong diagnosis of defective condensor. Leak into my hallway ceiling after a routine service as someone left insulation off. Go 3 days without heat in winter with no response again from company. New unit not cooling any better than old unit. Klaus, one of the owners promises from June to October of this year to fix and never does the rebalance until after I contact Carrier. Final straw, they come to do my routine winter service last month, and they tell me I have only 2 humidifiers to be serviced with the other 3 systems. I told them all 3 heating systems have humidiiers, which I had showed Jeff the previous year as well. Finally, after hearing lots of whispers while Jeff (head of service by the way) is hiding in my closet, that someone had cut the wires on the 3rd humidifier when they did put the new air conditioning unit in because I guess they were too lazy to run their own wires. Again, had to call Carrier to get this repaired as well. Missed many days from work, spent hours on the phone, was told to email Klasu directly only to find out all customers emails head to his spam folder. How this company maintains a gold seal from carrier is unknown to me??? Could go on and retell other issues with them, but can't waste any more of my time. Carrier has be good enough to help me find new and reputable dealer. The other owners of Speer, Craig Thorson and Bill something, won't even pick up a phone to help as well. After spending almost $25,000.00 over the past 3 years with this company it is amazing how they sleep at night.

Description of Work: We used Speer Air for 20 years to service our air-conditioner. They installed our initial air-conditioner and the last time we used them was last year and they replaced a central air-conditioner that we had for many years.

Description of Work: Diagnosed problem with old furnace; Provided estimate for repair; Provided sales call to spec out and price new furnace; Answered telephone and e-mail follow-up queries; Installed new 80% efficiency single phase furnace / removed old.

Description of Work: 25-year-old Carrier AC died just before the July heat wave; furnace was 43-year-old GE model. Rick came 9 July, calculated appropriate capacities, quoted $9795 for a high-efficiency (17.5 SEER) Carrier system to replace both (but with $3100 in tax credits and rebates); municipal permits were another $133. Luckily, existing air ducts were adequate. Paid $4900 down payment at once to get on installation queue.

The entire staff was customer friendly, reliable and professional. Prior to awarding Speer the job, their salesman submitted 3-4 written proposals allowing us plenty of time to research other sources before making a decision. Additionally, Speer's proposals were straight forward and competitively priced. There was absolutely no pressure to make a decision the choice was ours. Speer encouraged us to ask questions, if we needed clarification.The workers were very respectful of our privacy and used quality parts & materials.The technicians were punctual finishing the installation in less than a day and they cleaned up nicely after the job.
