Chapman Bros. Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning

The technician came the same morning I called. He replaced a bad thermocouple, which solved the problem; and he also cleaned and ajusted the burners. The work was nice and neat, and the tech was professional and courteous.

I called Chapman Brothers to get help with a possible sewer pipe break and I was told someone would get back to me. Bill did call and I explained the problem to him and he assured me he would get back to me over the weekend to set up a time for him to stop by. Because of this assurance I did not bother to call anyone else. He never called. I called the company again and once again was assured someone would get back to me. Again, no one ever bothered to call. There is no excuse for this unprofessionalism and it speaks volumes about the reliability of the company. If you read other reviews about this company, you will find this is not an isolated case.

They were fast worker, incredibly quick which was really nice.

Bobby is the technician that usually comes. He's always prompt. They are honest and lovely people. They're just a terrific company.

We had to call them about a year later for a minor issue; responded quickly; took care of everything with minimal expense. I have used Chapman Bros Plumbing in the past and was pleased with their work. However, they have become totally unresponsive. I called them for a quote on some substantial work and after about two weeks the owner finally called me back and left a message apologizing for the delay. I then returned the call and have heard nothing since - it's been at least 3 or 4 weeks. Very disappointing.

The work was complete and on time, and proceeded in a very professional manner. This contractor respected the ignorance of most homeowners w.r.t. infrastructure of hot-water heating systems, relationship to hot water heater, and exhaust issues. DO have all done by a single supplier.

They did fine and they did what they were going to do. They were courteous, clean, and all that kind of stuff. I would absolutely use them again.

I have used them several times before. My general comment about them is that they have always done quality work, but they are a little expensive. They are very professional and they do what they say. They are reliable and they do good work; that is why I have used them again. They are a little expensive, but they are licensed. They have always done things right. I have never had a problem with them. I would use them again in the future.

The plumber arrived a few hours after I phoned the company (he had another job to complete). Cleaning a sewer pipe is an incredibly dirty, smelly business; but this plumber was friendly and efficient. He cleaned up the mess in the basement very well. I expected the price to be high, and it was. Still, I think it reflected fair value for the money. I would definitely call this company again if I had a plumbing problem.

I originally contacted Chapman Brothers on August 29th to have a check valve on my sewer line examined as it had failed during Hurricane Irene. I was informed that it would a week or two before someone could come to my home and examine the valve due to the many problems homeowners were experiencing in the area. I had no problem with that. After two weeks no one called me back so I called again on September 9th to ascertain where I was on their list and when I could expect service.. At that time I spoke to Mr. Swick who told me I would be contacted at the end of the following week. I called again on September 15th. When I spoke to Mellisa I mentioned why I was calling and in the conversation stated I also need my hot water heater replaced. She made arrangements to have the heater installed the next day.. When the plumber arrived he determined that my check valve could not be repaired and had to be replaced. I should note that the valve was 40 years old and made of cast iron. He then left to go to the supply house to pickup the hot water heater and a check valve. When he returned, he stated that the supply house did not have the valve in stock and it had to be ordered. He replaced the heater and said he or someone would return when the valve was in. I must admit he was very pleasant and professional. After not hearing anything further I called again on September 23rd and the 24th. Again no return call on when the valve would be replaced. I contacted another plumber on October 4th and he was at my home the following morning at 8:00AM. He concurred that the valve had to be replaced and informed me that cast iron valves are no longer manufactured, only in PVC material. At that point I knew what I suspected, that I had been lied to by Chapman Brothers and that no valve had been ordered. For whatever the reason, Chapman Brothers did not want to do the repair. I can appreciate any tradesman not wanting to do certain jobs for a variety of reasons, but in my opinion you do not have Carte Blanche to deceive a potential customer by lying to them. Just be up front and deny the service at the time of being contacted. While Chapman Brothers may do very professional plumbing work, they lack professionalism in dealing a customer whose job they don't wish to do.

Chapman Bros came to do the annual service on our A/C system. I was told by the technician that the system was shot and needed to be replaced. The next day someone came to look at the system and give us an estimate for it's replacement. We had a very pleasant discussion about different way to go about the project. I told him I was interested in doing the project correctly, not just the cheapest way. A week went by and I did not get a quote. I called, the office, and was told the guy was out on vacation. No one else in the office was able to help. I called 2 more times over the next week, but never got a call back, and never got an estimate.

Hot water heater began leaking a lot of water about 5:30 pm 3/2. Called Chapman Bros approximately 6 pm. Someone was here to look at it by 6:45 pm. Took a look at it, gave us an estimate, said he could have somebody here the following day around 8:30 am. The plumber arrived at 8:35 on 3/3, showed me the work order and began work. He was courteous and professional, did the job and cleaned up the work area when he was done. Purchased the permit, passed inspection.

The plumber arrived late and liked to talk. But he did repair the leak I had on the radiator.

They provide an excellent service! They come very quickly, are nice to speak with, and are responsive. I find them to be very reliable and I am quite satisfied.

I have no complaints with the work, the water runs hot and beautiful. The guy was nice enough because he did some things that he threw in extra. The guys who did the work were genuinely nice. I have no complaints. He showed up when he said he was going to show up. They didn't finish one part so they ended up sending another guy back a day or two later to get that corrected and finish the inspection. Everything worked out fine.

Imagine living in a house for 1 week, being 7 months pregnant with boxes everywhere, and the sewer backs up on a Saturday into the beautiful basement bathroom, looks like an explosion, and soaks everything including the new carpeting. This was how my daughter and I met "Dennis" from Chapman. She called, he came, approached the problem calmly and took care of it. Snaked 75 feet from the basement into the middle of the street. Cleaned up good enough for me to begin my own cleaning after he left. Excellent service, excellent job and excellent "bedside manner". We will defnitely use them again.

We had previously had trouble with the shower but it was never satisfactorily fixed by previous plumbers. I expected a very difficult and expensive repair, but the Chapman Bros. plumber fixed the faucet quickly and inexpensively and it's working fine now.

If the price could be more reasonable, I may hire them again. It costs me three times than general contractors charging me. Even you may say everything has a price but there is over pay or under pay in any transaction. I believe the front in the case. If you look for quick, responsive and good quality regardless the price, I would recommend them.

They took care of it and overall, the service went well.

They were excellent. They fixed everything up and it works beautifully. They explained everything to me and were wonderful to work with. The price also seemed reasonable.

Everything went very well, The best part was that it was a holiday and they were there in one hour and resolved the problem, I have used them several times in the past with good results each time.
