Description of Work: Cut 2 large trees , lay stone along driveway, trim all trees and bushes, fixed fencing, remove old stone and haul away, powerwash the whole house ( its a big house) including driveway and 2 patios and all around pool area. Plant over 15 mums.

+ 0 moreI contacted Frank's Landscaping through Angie's List on 6/11. Frank contacted me back on 6/22 and quickly apologized for the late reply stating he was busy catching up with work. I appreciate that he reached out to me unlike other contractors who I called/emailed the same day and haven't heard back from as of today. Frank seemed very professional and scheduled an appointment to survey the project and provide a quote. The day of the estimate, I was unable to get to my house and I asked if Frank could survey the land on his own and provide me the quote. Frank was very willing to oblige my request. As Frank was on my property, I described to Frank over the phone what I was looking to get done. Frank wrote up the quote the same day and left it in my mailbox for my review. I gave Frank's Landscaping a C (Fair) for overall experience. Price was a D because my closest estimate to Frank's $10,300 quote was $8,270 and lowest was $5,875 (from another Angie's List A-rated contractor). Responsiveness was a C despite it being almost 2 weeks before I heard back from Frank. To be fair, I felt Frank calling back at all was by far better customer service than never hearing from him like other contractors I reached out to also on Angie's List. Professionalism was C because once again, other than the 11 days it took for him to contact me back, he was otherwise very professional from his first phone call to the final quote which would lead me to still consider Frank in future projects.
Description of Work: Provided quote to clear out and take away brush and trees in a 90x50 sq feet area, grind all stumps, trim and or remove a tree in the front of house.

+ 0 moreI called frank for the second time. The first being last year. He & his crew did an outstanding job. He is very reasonable & gives a good job or the money. There isn't any doubt that I will use him again. Hard working young man with good values.
Description of Work: Cleaned up yard ie.branches,leaves. Also dug out old shrubs & planted new ones. He also Trimmed my trees & planted flowers along fence line. Frank completed the job by power blowing dirt out. When the job was completed it looked like a million bucks. This is the second year that I used Frank . I will continue to use him.

Was prompt on the day of arrival and the services provided. He did an amazing cleanup and small tree removals. Would highly recommend and use again. Normally dont service my area for lawn cutting, but was able to do the cleanup. I wish he could!
Description of Work: Complete Spring cleanup. Trim of all trees and bushes, weeding, hedging, I have a large area and everything was done beautifully!

+ -1 moreFrank is extremely responsive and easy to get in touch with. What really sets Frank apart from other providers is that he shows up when he tells you he will. (He updates you via text). The quality of work that he did in our yard was exceptional. We needed trees taken down and he came even though it was VERY cold outside. We definitely plan on using Frank and his crew in the very near future.
Description of Work: We had two LARGE trees and two medium size trees taken down and removed.

+ 0 moreFrank did a great job. He came out and looked at the job promptly, let me know upfront he wouldn't be able to start the job for a week and a half and showed up to complete the work when he said he would. The price was very fair and the work was good quality.
Description of Work: We just moved into a house where the lawn and landscape had been neglected for months. Frank cut the waist-high grass, pruned trees and shrubs and weeded and mulched the planting beds around the property.

I think that Frank was very responsive to needs, provided a reasonable cost estimate for work (which did not change upon completion of services), and conducted himself in a professional manner. I would consider using his services again, should the need arise.

+ 2 moreFrank called back shortly after I left an intial message. He came over and walked teh property with me, giving me an estimate and commitment date. Frank and his crew showed up as planned. All work was performed and the property was left neat and clean. Work was as promised and somem extra work was performed at the same time. Price was fiar and work was well done. Will use Frank again in the Spring for continued landscape work.
Description of Work: Frank performed landscape clean up work, mulching and lawn edging work for me. Some additional work was also performed.

Description of Work: NONE. He came on a Saturday, so my oldest daughter could join us. I explained I have MS and can't get around too well. Jennifer lives here as well and we had discussed everything needed to be done. We advised front entrance under LR and DR Windows needed to be "cleaned up"; a holly bush removed, a fir-tree removed and replaced by a mop-head hydrengia. Weed barrier and black rubber mulch laid down, and all bushes in front trimmed 'way down' as they had overgrown. back of bushes trimmed to allow access to water hose under DR window. We took him to the side of the house and my daughter told him to put a weed barrier and black mulch on the grass running between the cement walk and side of house going to the back yard fence. My daughter asked if he wanted to come inside to write it up; he said "I've got it". I asked when he would send an estimate, he said he'd call me. I told him "No, I don't want to talk about estimates, I need something written down." He said OK, he'd send it. It took a week, but I found an envelope in my mail box with "Karen" written on it, the following Sat. Inside there was a yellow 4" X 6" lined note (from a small pad), No Contractor Name, No Signature, No length of time estimate would hold, etc. just a hand printed note w/some of the things he was told, with numbers. He called the following Mon. and asked if I got the note. I advised I needed something more professional, so we both knew what to expect, especially whoever was here when he did the workt. He said he would write one up. I said I would give him a 10% Deposit. He said he didn't need a deposit, he'd do the work with his crew ( 1 or 2 other guys) and get full paid at conclusion. I never heard from him again, and called him back the following Monday. He apologized, and said he had been busy but would send me the written estimate by Wed. or Thurs. I said OK, and advised my daughter and husband of same. Now it's next Monday: Aug 8, and still no "Frank". He was young, showed up in an unmarked wood-sided hauler, and only carried a clip board with him. I'm looking for a 'GROWN-UP" Professional who does this for a living. Not a college kid trying to make a few bucks for the summer. We have had the same electrician and plumber since the 80's, and we want someone we can keep and recommend throughout the years. I used Service Magic when I added on my new kitchen in 2008, and I found my wonderful architect through them, who recommended 3 Contractors to build the addition. I interviewed, and did background checks on all 3. We opened the "blind bids" with him and were extremely happy with the contractor and the results. I looked on Service Magic for a landscaper also, but they don't seem as reliable, so now I tried your AngiesList. However I'm not thrilled with Frank either. I need someone I can really rely on... who'll come do the job, and back up his work. Is that so hard to find? I'm wondering if those 6 good reviews were just 'friends and family'.... He seems like a polite, but irresponsible young fellow to me.. My husband is in sales and works late many nights, and can't keep up with the yards himself. I did see one landscaper on Angies in Hazlet which is not too far away, but there were NO ratings at all. Can you hlep us?? I'm sorry to give anyone a Bad Rating, but his is a big disappointment. + -1 morePainless. Prompt, good clean up. Now this was several years ago so no recent experience. most of the work has held up very well, but local wildlife has take a toll on some of the shrubs; will use Frank's again to replace.

+ 0 moreHe was supposed to clean my gutters but he didn?t. I asked him to do some things that he did not do. I am not overly impressed with him. I want him to come back in the spring and finish the work that he was supposed to do. I will probably try to negotiate with him and get him to do the work. I told him to trim the hedges in front of my house and remove them and he did not do that. He did not pull the weeds the way I wanted him to. The gutters weren?t cleaned and I can still see the mess in the gutters.
Description of Work: Frank’s Landscaping trimmed some hedges, removed some weeds and debris and trimmed some tress for me in December.

+ 0 moreHe does very good work. We have had him do a few things for us and the work has been great. Our yard looks nice and he does a great job cleaning up when he is finished. He always shows up when he is supposed to and is conscientious about his work.
Description of Work: He has mowed for me on a regular basis. He has also at some point delivered mulch and placed it where I wanted it. He has also put in paving blocks around my walkway.
