Steve was very prompt and thorough in the inspection; even our agent/attorney was surprised at the thoroughness of Steve. He took his time in looking at every detail of the house. He was also not frustrated in us following him everywhere; he explained every detail in what is he inspecting, why it is important and whether or not we need to worry about maintainence from an ongoing perspective. I would recommend Steve for a home inspection.

Our original home inspector cancelled on short notice. I contacted Stephen and he was able to do our home inspection same day. He was punctual and professional. Stephen provided us with a thorough inspection and is an expert in his field. Stephen exceeded our expectations and I highly recommend his services to others.

We originally set up an appointment with Stephen who was very helpful starting with the first phone contact. He asked us some questions regarding the age of the property, its size, and if there were any specific issues we would like him to address. We agreed on a date and time and unfortunately we had to cancel last minute because of the attorney review taking longer than expected. Stephen was very understanding and we rescheduled for the week after. Stephen let me know he would be 15 minutes late because of traffic and arrived 10 minutes after the original appointment time. He spent 4 hours onsite and pointed out major issues to address with the owners prior to our purchase. He was very clear with the explanations and took all the time needed to answer all our questions. He also gave us advice on how to maintain the house and which issues to address in the near future. Stephen sent us an 85 pages report 48 hours following the inspection with pictures and comments on all the inspection findings. We are very happy with the report and will definitely use it for further house maintenance. One last thing, Stephen asked us to call him anytime for any follow-up question and when we did, he was very responsive. We will definitely recommend him to anyone searching for a comprehensive inspection.

Stephen was very professional and friendly and most important provided a great detailed report of my home. He showed up early to meet my Realtor; he answered all my questions and explained his potential concerns on the day of inspection. I had a short closing deadline and Stephen was able to provide a quick turn around on the final report. The final report with pictures, comments and references was very thorough and easy to understand. I would definitely recommend him to friends and family.

Stephen was great - from scheduling the appointment to answering questions about his final report, Stephen was extremely professional and friendly. The day of the inspection, Stephen showed up early and was well prepared. He really took his time with explaining everything that he was looking at and where he saw potential concerns. Steve was very professional. He arrived early and started taking pictures right away and inspiring the exterior of the property. He explained everything in detail and gave us suggestions on how to repair certain issues and let us know if something needed to be replaced. He was very thorough taking many pictures. I liked that he explained what were safety or considered environmental hazards. The report was delivered within 2 days. It was extensive, clear and easy to read. The report includes all the pictures taken during the inspection. After the inspection Steve emailed us with helpful reminders including what we maintenance items we should keep up with each year.

Steve did arrive a bit late, but let us know in advance and was there at the property inspecting the roof by the time we reached. He was thorough in his work and identified quite a few issues that ultimately resulted in us not buying the unit, but that is a good thing. He took good 2.5 hours in the house and was very patient in answering all the questions, even on the phone afterwards. The report was high quality and he told us to go after few major issues he identified. He even prioritized my report as there was something unique in the property that could not take his regular time he takes to write the report. All in all, I will recommend him without a second though and will use him again, hopefully soon.

I cannot express enough how professional, punctual and detailed Stephen was. Always answered the phone and if he couldn't speak to us because he was working, he always called back at the time he said he was going to. Never had a problem reaching him. We put in an offer on a TLC house, pending inspection, and hired Stephen to do the inspection. Our appointment was at 9am and when we arrived a quarter to, Stephen already inspected the whole yard and went over all the details with us as we walked through it. We immediately knew we were in the hands of a professional. He answered all out questions and actually incouraged them. He pointed out all the cracks, code violations and safety hazards. Stephen did a detailed inspection of the house, including the attic and the basement. We also had a pool to inspect and we went over all that was possible but because the pool was empty and not working, it was impossible to test it. Stephen explained, when giving us a quote when we booked the appt that that might happen, and dropped $100 from the initial price as promised. He was very true to his word. The report arrived in my mailbox within 3 days and we couldn't have been more pleased. It was highly detailed and the pictures were clearly marked with circles and arrows pointing out everything that needed to be fixed. We ended up walking away from the house because of everything that needed to be fixed just to bring it up to code. Stephen saved us from purchasing a house that would cost us thousands and thousands of dollars. He also took the time to go over the report with great details with us. We're still currently searching for our house and will definitely be calling Stephen once we do.

One of the most critical steps in buying a home is making sure that you have a thorough and comprehensive inspection to ensure you don?t run into any unexpected surprises once you are in your new home. Because of that, we did a lot of research to find someone who we thought would give us the level of comfort we needed to ensure we were buying a safe and good quality home for our family. After reading reviews on Angie?s List, we decided to contact Stephen Appolonia. That was the best decision we?ve ever made. From the first time I spoke with Stephen, he took the time to explain to me what he was going to be doing. He didn?t rush me, despite my many questions, and worked with me to schedule a day and time that worked for us (especially since we had an accelerated inspection timeline in our contract). On the day of the inspection, he was on time and for almost 4 hours very meticulously and patiently went through the entire house (inside and out), explaining what he was looking for and pointing out things he thought were important to note. He listened to our concerns, answered every question we had and addressed issues that were identified in a way that made us understand the magnitude and implications of not remediating them. Perhaps Stephen?s greatest asset to us was his experience with identifying potential mold issues. Once found, he explained to us what he believed the cause was, took samples and expedited the results from the lab so that we would have them in time to meet our inspection deadline. Knowing how important the mold issue was to us, he even took an additional sample from the basement (fee free), just to give us peace of mind. We can?t thank him enough for doing such a great job. If you want an inspector who is professional, patient and great at what he does, we highly recommend you use Stephen for your home inspection.

I am in the process of buying a used home to use as my new residence. AAA was my choice. Stephen explained to me a the services he would be providing and I scheduled the inspection with him. He confirmed a day in advance and then arrived on-time. From the very beginning I was assured he was the right person. He was there 2.5 hours. He went over everything thoroughly and explained to me at each juncture what he was doing and what he was looking for. He has a variety of test equipment he uses such a moisture gauge for walls and floors, a electronic temperature gauge for testing the central air and heating elements, etc, etc. He was willing to look into anything additional I asked for. He took pictures of various items on the property. In less than 48 hours I had his 44 page report with pictures showing the repairs required, recommendations and detailed explanations of why various repairs were required and why. I am extremely satisfied with the quality of the inspection and reports.

Hired Steve form AAA Home Inspections to inspect a home under contract in East Windsor NJ. If it wasn't for Steve's experience and expertise in the field of home inspections we would have never discovered the structural deficiencies in the home costing us thousands of dollars and a VERY unhappy family. Steve did a very thorough job. He is very knowledgeable and professional. I was looking for a home inspector for a 47 year old home about 2500 square feet. This was my third home purchase and I was not overwhelming happy with my past inspectors. I researched Angie's List and found AAA Home inspections. The reviews were good and the business close to my area. I called and spoke with Steve who gave me an estimate and explained his services. Scheduling an appointment was quick and easy and he arrived on time and even a bit early for our inspection appointment. He was very professional and began an approximate 3 hour inspection of the home. He worked systematically and had no problem answering questions I posed or giving suggestions for better options or fixes. I found him to be thorough, checking every corner of the home looking for issues. Overall the home was found to be in good condition, with several relatively fixable issues that needed some attention. Steve located mold In the basement that was a big concern and needed to be resolved. Luckily I was able to resolve the issue with the current owner for the mold to be removed at no cost to myself. I believe Steve did an excellent job and made me feel more comfortable with my purchase. In addition, the report was done the same night as the inspection and was sent via a secured email program. I found it to be convenient to use and was thankful I had it so quickly to send to my attorney. Past inspectors took almost two weeks for me to receive a written report. I highly recommend AAA Home Inspections and would use again. Thank you Steve.

Unfortunately I was unable to be present. If I had been I would have politely asked to clear away the clutter so a full inspection could have been made. It was very difficult for Steve to inspect garage as it was loaded with owner's belongings. However, Steve came back, at no charge, to reinspect the garage.

Steve did a great job. He was very thorough and explained all concerns in detail. He even came out to do the inspection over Memorial Day weekend. Our report was very detailed and sent in a timely manner. I would easily recommend Steve to anyone looking for a home inspector.

Positive :Overall good. I value honesty highest when conducting transections like these. Steve provided me time which i wanted for home inspection. Also he reached on time. Report came on time. After report also guided me to understand what is important and what can be fixed later. Report was descriptive but also had concise summary to focus on important. He did not scare me into this or that. He did not recommend extra tests like mold tests unless indicated. So overall I am satisfied. Negative: Air condition. He could not air condition check because outside temp have to be higher than 65 for 3 days to check. I can understand that it is not in anyones hand. But there has to be a way to check it. Its a big expense if turns out to be wrong. Home attic: He could not go up because space was small and there was nothing to walk on. I can understand but thats why you hire professionals to go in to small space and check important stuff. Overall, More than 90% satisfied. I am very detailed oriented person and my expectation are always higher. So it may be just me. All negatives which i suggested could have been same with all other providers. One more thing I would like to mention is , I called multiple inspectors from Angies list for this inspection. One company was very expensive. One company had no time to talk more than 2 minutes every time I call. That person was busy and could not talk longer even when i was planning to schedule inspection. So if you cannot talk before , how you gonna do after i give you my 600+ dollars. One more company I spoke to also had a big organization who had people who they contract with or something. For Steve, I can tell you that he is very professional, easy to get in touch with, have plenty of time to over report with you whenever you call and how many time you call. He will not recommend unnecessary extra testing just to make extra few bucks. These qualities harder to find in todays fast pace world. I recommend him for home inspection.

My husband and I are very happy that we found Stephen on Angie's list. He was prompt, professional, pleasant, and knowledgeable. He went over his findings with us in detail and found him to be a nice honest guy, which as we all know can be hard to find. He does mold, septic, and termite inspections which was great. He made such a great impression, we will definitely call him when we need to renovate in the future because home inspections are not his only area of expertise. Mr. Appolonia was professional and accommodating while setting up the appointment as the current home owner was not very flexible. When I arrived at the home he was already underway with his work. His appearance is professional as well; neatly dressed and clean shaven. During the inspection he explained his findings in a clear manner and he carried himself comfortably and respectfully with everyone at the home (the seller was home that day). He was a pleasure to work with and I recommend him for your home inspection!

The whole experience was a pleasure. Working with Steve was wonderful. We did the whole walk through inspection with him. He explained everything in detailed and answered every question we had. He showed up 15 minutes prior to the agreed upon time and took the promised 3 hours. The 3 hours went by quickly as he talked about every potential problem and offered his advise on how to fix each issue and the potential cost. He took pictures of each potential problem or violation and advised me on what he would do if it was his property. He pointed out prior and current water intrusions and rust and showed us mold that was evident but not active that was on the rafters in the attic and also present in the basement. I was glad that I took his advise and paid another $150 for him to test the air and send the test to a mold expert for analysis. the test came up positive in my basement and posed a major health hazard and expense that I am now negotiating with the seller on how to remediate the mold prior to my purchasing the home. Stephen has offered his future services and advice for up to one year as part of his normal service for his customers and this will also prove to be helpful in saving me monies on future home projects in this 50 year old colonial. I highly recommend Stephen and his company!!
