Steve, who seems to be a one-man operation, found time in his busy schedule to come on short notice. Importantly, it was clear from the beginning that we would get along and that the process would go smoothly. He explained everything clearly and answered any question I had. He made a point of distinguishing issues that were important to deal with from those that were more cosmetic and he provided useful advice on what needed to be done before closing and what might become a problem in the future. All in all, the inspection process was very enjoyable, not something I had any reason to anticipate! Two days after the inspection, I received an email with an amazingly detailed and thorough report, including photos of each and every item discussed in the text. There was so much information in the report, it was almost overwhelming!

It went very well. The inspector found several items that need replacement or repair.

Stephen was prompt and polite. He inspected an area where there had been a leak and said there was no mold.

They were fantastic and thorough. Needed a home inspection for a condo purchase with a quick closing. They worked with me and came within 2 days. Covered every detail and report included photos and video of damage/ issues to address with seller. All was delivered digitally and downloaded to a pdf for review. I would recommend them.

Steve is fantastic! He was very personable and knowledgeable and took the time to explain things and even let me know what issues would be serious and what issues would be easy to fix. He takes his time and is willing and able to answer any questions you might have, even if it is out of the scope of the inspection. Because of him I was able to get the seller to fix 2 major issues even though it was an as-is sale. I would recommend Steve in a heartbeat.

From the initial messaging and contact Steve was a thorough professional and very responsive. Prior to home inspection, we had a super-extended to-and-fro with the property seller which forced me to keep Steve in limbo for quite some time. Steve was exceptionally patient and understanding. On the day of the inspection, Steve was running 15mins late due to traffic and he was very prompt in informing me and apologetic nonetheless. Once Steve got going on the home inspection, he was very thorough in every aspect including documentation. He was completely in my shoes as a potential property buyer. He ensured I was viewing the same things he was and explained things in layman terms realizing very well that as a 1st time home buyer I had a super long list of apprehensions and questions. Steve comes with a tenure in the construction industry and he leveraged it to my benefit. He was courteous all through the 3-4hrs that he spent inspecting the property top to bottom. He also ensured my concerns were addressed irrespective of whether they were covered as part of our contracted services or not. If he did not know, or did not have enough information to make a concrete comment or recommendation, he said as much without pretending. What makes him different: Steve went above and beyond in my opinion is that he played a role of a true professional whose advise I came to count on and actively sought his inputs til the day of closing. Needless to say the property had many points of concern & discussion, where I needed an experienced professional's inputs and Steve emerged as my "go-to" guy. Steve could have very well blocked, ignored, rejected, refused to be there, but he voluntarily chose not to. As we are moving to close this property in the next few days, I would definitely recommend Steve to anyone wanting to hire his services. At the outset his services are pricier than other comparable service providers, however the quality of his work, and the fact that he emerged as my "go-to" guy (and will remain so in the future) makes me feel it was worth it. I hope my review has done justice to the value he brought to the table for me!

Stephen was phenominal. As we went to say 'hello', Stephen had pointed out deficiencies in the home. There was not one inch of the house that was not touched. He found things that seem so obvoious now, but were overlooked when we did our initial visit. We trusted him from moment one. Stephen was nice enough to talk to us and pointed out concerns. We had the final report that night. His promptness, thoroughness, and knowledge is second to none. Needless to say, after reading the report, my husband I finally decided not to buy the house. There were a lot of issues that we did not want to worry about. We will definitely use Stephen again when it comes to the next inspection, which may be sooner than later.

It went great. Steve was very honest, which is important to me when making such a large investment. He was meticulous in checking all issues on the outside of the house, many of which I would have overlooked myself. One thing that made a huge difference to me was the fact that he uses a moisture reader that is much more sensitive than an average device. We were able to identify a leak that we later traced to an upstairs window. A lower-end moisture reader would not have picked up on the leak, as he demonstrated. His price is competitive and was a great guy to work with.

Being a first time home buyer, everything is so nerve wrecking especially when you know nothing about everything. We knew a home inspection is the single most important aspect in the home purchasing process so we were nervous when we had to look for one. BUT luckily we found AAA Home Inspections on Angie's list! Being that my husband and I are looking to get into our new home quickly we wanted to get the inspection completed ASAP. Stephen was able to accommodate our date quickly and meet us the weekend after we contacted him. Stephen was super knowledgeable as well and had all the tools and gadgets (his expandable ladder) to get the job done. He took the time to explain any repairs needed to my husband as well as explain a lot of the technical terms that as first time homeowners we really weren't familiar with. Once the inspection was complete Stephen let my husband and I know of any issues that he was concerned about and that we should negotiate to have repaired. He sent a detailed report including all pictures of requested repairs, thorough and efficient! Overall, he did a fantastic job and we would highly recommend him to anyone looking for his services!

We engaged AAA Home Inspections, LLC (Steve Appolonia) to perform a standard home inspection on a 10 year old residence in Freehold, NJ, which we closed on in early September. Our real estate agent suggested several companies that her firm uses for our consideration. However, we felt it was important for us to select a company that was independent of the realtor because the conclusions would likely be more unbiased. We decided to search Angie's List for other firms. We were impressed by the fact that AAA's reviews were particularly strong and that it was located in the area. We also took note of the fact that Steve is certified in a number of home inspection disciplines and that he is a former home-builder, which we believe provides valuable experience in doing inspections. Our decision to choose AAA was a good one. Steve performed an extremely comprehensive inspection of the interior and exterior of the house, including structural elements, electrical/plumbing, HVAC, appliances etc. He was more than willing for us to follow him along throughout the process so that we could observe the issues he was identifying. He provided thorough, yet easily understandable, explanations,of the problems he found, the underlying cause(s), and how to prevent a recurrence, once the problem was remedied. Given the relative newness of the house, there were no significant issues found, but Steve also gave us a number of useful maintenance tips on how to prevent problems in future years as the home ages. Steve's written report was of equally high quality as the inspection itself. It was very comprehensive, providing a number of photos which clearly illustrated the particular items being addressed. The report's findings were so well documented that it left no questions on our part or from the sellers and their agent. It was a very useful tool in negotiating repairs and, in one instance, obtaining compensation from the sellers. In conclusion, AAA Homes Inspections performed an excellent review which helped prevent unnecessary stress during the buying process, while also empowering us during post contract negotiations.

We learnt a lot about the house that we are going to buy. Described all the pro's and cons's of all features and equipment in the house. Thoroughly examined all the areas of house. The report is very detailed too.

inspector arrived on time, was personable and professional throughout process. This was a consultation, since we were not in need of a written report, so the inspector explained what he was looking at and his findings throughout the walk through. The inspection was very informative and now we have a priority list of home projects which will save us money down the line.

Stephen arrived later than originally agreed, but he explained that he was on another inspection job that took more time than expected. He kept me fully apprised of his location and that he was on his way. I appreciated his candor and the fact that he communicated with me. I was not left wondering where is he? The inspection was very thorough and when he left I felt I had been thoroughly introduced to the infrastructure of the property. He provided a timely completed inspection report as promised. Steve was on time and complemented a thorough job. He allowed us to follow him through the entire process and answered any and all questions we had. He had out best interest in mind. He even inspected places such as the shed that he does not normally do. After the report was written he took the time to answer more questions and refer us to people who could help with repairs! The Good: Hired him on short notice. Scheduled 2PM meeting. He showed up at 12pm and started early. Gave a good summary and walk through. Submitted report in a timely manner. Impressed me with a lot things that I as an average person would not have noticed/realized. The Bad: Introduced himself as a generalist and not an expert in any one field. Report was a giant disclaimer and stated further evaluation by expert is required for just about every discipline such as chimney and all flues and vents, fireplace, attic inspector (unless attic is finished, mine wasn't), roof inspector, electrical, termites, rodent damage, and heating. I could understand deferring to experts for some things ..but come on everything? He told me I had to pay an extra fee for paying with a credit card. He said this extra credit card charge was mentioned in an email that he should have sent me. Afterwards, I checked my email and I never received any email indicating this fee.

For both inspections, he was very professional, knowledgeable, and responsive to any inquiries. We highly recommend him.

Stephen was great. Extremely patient and friendly, and exceptionally informative. This was our first home inspection and he made sure to explain exactly what he was looking for and, when something was found, what he was looking at. This can be a daunting process for first time buyers, especially when you have no experience with things like structural issues, plumbing, electric, etc. Stephen was never condescending or dismissive and patiently answered every question we had. I highly recommend AAA.
