COLONIAL HARDWOOD FLOOR FINISHING

Colonial came out to give us an estimate. After inspecting the floor, we were told that the floors were too stained to be refinished and we would need to replace the hardwood at a cost of $2000. If we wanted to proceed with refinishing, we would need to stain them ebony. We ended up using a different service company and refinishing the floors in a stain of our choosing and they came out beautiful - no need to replace them.

Colonial did an excellent job. They draped and taped the stairwell and doorways to minimize the dust from the sanding of the floors. They cleaned up very well every day after finishing. They were very careful when carrying equipment up and down stairs not to ''dink'' our wallpaper or walls. The staining and polyurethane steps were done well, and the floors look terrific. They even left the quarter-round molding cut to fit, numbered on the back, so we could paint the baseboards more easily before installing the finishing moldings. They did an excellent job, and were courteous and professional from start to finish.
