 + 0 moreDave figured out the best solution. He and his worker dug the trenches and covered the pipes with the patches of grass after they installed the pipes, pump, & pop-up drain. It was a very professional job and works great so far. I have not seen the yard flooded since he did this work. He kept in touch with me by phone and email since I was not there the whole time as it is my summer home. This is the third time I had Dave back to do work. I had major damage from Hurricane Sandy and on 4/13/13 he also did work for me. He worked in my crawl space. He replaced insulation, cleaned joists with an antimicrobial agent and then painted them with antimold resistant paint, replaced a vapor barrier, installed a sump pump, repaired foundation vents, and filled cracks in my foundation. All for a resonable price! Dave is honest, fair and very professional. He always returns my calls in a timely manner. I will call on him again for future work.
Description of Work: Installed a pump and drainage system in my backyard due to flooding during rainstorms. Also dug trenches.

 + -1 moreIt was okay, it was fair. It took a little longer than we thought but the final requote was good so we were happy. They did the cross phase, they had to put plastics down there to get the water out of it and had to put the plastic down and insulation. They took all of the old insulation out and put the insulation on the top and put the new insulation in. They got the job done. He was nice, he had his nephew or somebody with him that helped him out. He was very personable and very nice. I thought the price was a little high. It was all pretty neutral, there were a couple of times that he didn't call back right away. For the same type of job, I would probably use them again.
Description of Work: We had used McWilliams Construction & Design for insulation. It was done last July and it costs $1,600.

 + -1 moreThey started promptly the next morning after agreeing to the price. They worked through out the day into the evening in the crawl space of my house. They were relentless. They got the job done in three days. Non stop workers. They put in12 to 16 hours a day.
Description of Work: I called them on a Monday. They showed up within the hour gave me an estimate and got started the next day. They were professional and two of the nicest guys! They got into the crawl space and cleaned up the mold, replaced the insulation, and encapsulated the beams. They also replace a rotted board above my garage, and repaired some cracks on the block on my porch. All the work was included in the price.

McWilliams Construction & Design did a wonderful job and I would recommend them highly. First of all they returned my call very quickly, they came to the house and checked everything out, they met with the insurance adjuster, they were very helpful, and they were very business like. They gave me a time that they would be here and they were. They started when they said they would. They just couldn't give me a completion date because they didn't know what they were going to find. They ended up finishing in a week. They did a beautiful job. Their taste was wonderful. They helped me figure out what things to get and it was wonderful. They are an A right down the line. I would use them in the future. I have some projects I want done. They are very prompt, they call right away, they set up the appointment quickly, and if they said they were going to be here they were. It was wonderful.
Description of Work: McWilliams Construction & Design just finished a job for me. We had a water leak from under the sink. It had been there a long time before we knew it and we had to rip up the floor and everything. I had to put a new rug down in my den, they painted, I got all new cabinets for my kitchen, and they put a whole new kitchen floor in.

Dave McWilliams (owner/principle) is responsive and communicates the problem and solution clearly. Written estimate was provided promptly and work was executed within 36 hours of providing a deposit. A good experience for a unfortunate situation.
Description of Work: Removal of spilled sewage from crawl space due to failed plumbing drainage. Provided cart-away services for all waste and contaminated debris/objects. Treated affected area of concrete and wood with chemicals for the prevention of mold growth and spread of bacteria. Dave (owner/principle) shared before and after photos and kept fans in the crawl space for an extended period as a preventative measure.

Within a day of my first contact with him, he had visited the location, and got back to me with a proposal to tear down my old dock, and replace it. Before I committed, I asked him if he could go back and take some pictures that my insurance company requested. Dave was very quick to respond and e mailed me the pictures within a day or two. The work was completed within a couple of days following my sending him a deposit. I was very pleased with his responsiveness, job knowledge and professionalism. I would definitely use Dave again for any home repair or handiman project, and would definitely recommend him to my friends. Dave McWilliams was a pleasure to deal with.

Description of Work: I had a lot of damage to my home from Hurricane Sandy. As some of you know trying to work with FEMA is a nightmare. Mr. McWilliams gave me an estimate and FEMA thought it needed more info. Mr. McWilliams has taken the time to do a very detailed estimate and even talked to my insurance company. He is fantastic and he will be starting on the house very soon. When job is completed I will do another review.

Really happy and better than what we expected. Had other contractors do work for us before but not as good as these gentlemen. And I mean gentlemen. Which is hard to find in this kind of environment.  + -1 moreEvery time I try to get to them something happens. I'm trying to get through with them on phone. What I like was their price, but they should not feel offended if somebody asks questions them about their work. This work was being done on the roof. I may let them work on the walls, but I wouldn't let them do my roofing work.

 + -1 moreI received his estimate yesterday by email and I just couldn't believe it. In fact, I thought it was a mistake so I called to double check with him and he was very confident in his estimate. When I asked why it was $34,000 he said it was because I had a steep roof! And his price didn't even include the garage! He itemized things like a dumpster and even climbing the roof. I had already received an estimate from another company and their price was a little over $6,000 for the same work (including the garage).
Description of Work: I contacted him in early December for an estimate to put a new roof on my summer home and garage. He called me from my summer home and sounded very nice. I asked him a few questions about the roof, shingles, etc. We live in a windy area and I wanted to make sure my shingles wouldn't blow off.

 + -1 moreI called McWilliams because of the A rating on Angie's list. Dave did an outstanding job for a fair price. He came right away and bagged all of the wet insulation too. Other neighbors had insulation removed by other companies, but it was not bagged. I will hire Dave to do additional work. If you need restoration done due to the hurricane, I suggest you contact McWilliams Construction. Dave has a lot of great recommendations for restoration to get my house back in shape.

They communicated with me by phone and even sent me picture of the work when it was done. I feel they were honest and went above and beyond during a very stressful time with my Mom in the hospital and a storm going on in the East Coast.
Description of Work: McWilliams Construction and design came out to my Mother's House and repaired her roof before the Sandy Storm. They also Cut back the trees so that she would not have any branches on her roof. After the storm they came back and painted the exterior of the house and cleaned out the gutters.

After 2 other plumbers failed to show I found Dave McWilliams. I gave him the information on the pump and he said he would go and purchase the pump and install it the next day.I was very pleased when he showed up not only on time but went right to work after a quick conversation about what the problem was. After having to crawl around in a very low crawl space Dave came out to inform me that the pump did not have to be replaced but could be repaired with the spare parts he had from another pump that he had worked on. There would be no charge for the parts and he would return the new pump on his own time. The electric breaker for the pump had to be turned off and the prime had to be re-set. Dave finished the job in less then an hour. A leak had developed on the pump and water was dripping onto to the pump which made the ball bearrings rust and corrode. The pump has been working perfectly since Dave repaired it. Dave is HONEST, PUNCTUAL, PLEASANT AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. I would recomend him to anyone without the slightest hesitation. I dont think there is anyone better out there! Thanks again Dave!!
