Rudy was awesome!!! Very professional and punctual. He change 11 doors from the old wood doors to the six panel doors and painted all of them. He also swapped out the floor, vanity, toilet and light fixture from our guest bathroom and it looks great. Price was reasonable and he stayed on budget. If your looking for a good handyman Rudy is your guy. Special shout out to Rob his helper. Also he took special care to clean up during and after the job and take the material with him for disposal.

Rudy replaced the glass in a broken basement window and did a nice job of it. What I particularly liked is that he returned my call promptly, and though we played phone tag for a bit, he kept returning calls until we finally connected. (Many others I tried haven't done as much for a small job like this.) He showed up on time and completed the job efficiently. The price came in a little higher than his estimate over the phone, but he explained why and I was ok with that. However, his estimate and price were higher than 2 others I contacted, but then neither of them showed up to do the work, so what's the good in that? Rudy also took some extra time out of his day to discuss additional projects around my house. I would definitely hire him again.

I hired Rudy to install the floor in the hallway upstairs and downstairs, He did the job in a timely manner at a reasonable price. The work was excellent ; He knows his trade. I was very happy with the results; my floors look beautiful. This is the third time I called Rudy. A few weeks ago, he also changed a window for me and fixed a ceiling and a wall in one of my rooms ; the work here was excellent. Was performed quickly and he left the site clean . I am very pleased to know Rudy. I will keep him in mind for other jobs in the future. Thank you Rudy. Thank you Angie for recommending Tools to the Rescue.

Rudy called ahead of time to confirm our appointment, and then appeared on time at our agreed time. He gave the estimate and did the (very small) job in one visit. Not the cheapest of rates, but he did what was requested, cleaned up, and was friendly. He also removed the scrap/bulk wood left when the shelves were removed, as a bonus. I am happy with his work.

Rudy was recommended to me by my neighbor, and I'm glad for the work he did. My basement was finished in either the 50s or 60s with white-pine tongue-and-groove paneling, and a raised hardwood floor. The ceiling was brought down before I bought the house to accommodate a plumbing refit, and a utility room that was only partially framed in. Rudy came in, covered the paneling with sheetrock, taped, spackled, installed a MaxxHeight drop ceiling system, removed a bar, fixed a floor and installed a Pergo floor. It was a tough job, since not many of the angles in the house were true. But he feels his work speaks for itself. He did a great job, in a very acceptable timeframe, and worked with me on different solutions which were more cost-effective, laying out all the pros and cons. I will be hiring him again for other work, and would recommend him to anyone.

Response from Tools To The Rescue
yes job sounds expensive because the handles/locks cost over $50 each x 5 plus moldings , fiberglass panels , screws , new door. I also repaired front door and screen door. I also installed a new pump on the back screen door. had to cut & install fiberglass panels on five doors. I traveled 45 min. each way for her because she couldn't find anyone to come out there! it took me two trips but I was glad I could help her with her projects. PS Not sure if job cost $2000 but what ever.

I recently purchased a new refrigerator only to find out it would not fit in the space where the old one was. Rudy did a great job of make the necessary modifications on the cabinet above the space. The work was neat and the price fair. He did the job without damaging the cabinet. The refrigerator was delivered and fit perfectly. He really came to rescue. Be warned, he?s a very busy guy.

Rudy was on time, worked hard, cleaned up, communicated with us in a friendly and helpful way. We believe he has integrity and wants only the best for his customers. We definitely will have him back soon for more work.
Description of Work: Rudy Cammerino patched a 4x8' part of our bedroom ceiling that had fallen down. It was a very messy (plaster & concrete) and difficult job. Then Rudy painted the whole room. The final job -- done efficiently, as estimated, cleanly -- was stunning. We were surprised at how pleasant and rewarding this entire experience was for us.

After having the wood floors sanded in the living room, dining room and hallway, we needed someone to install new molding and remove old tile and install new tile by the front door. We checked Angie's list and contacted Rudy from Tools to the Rescue. Rudy replied to our message in a timely fashion, came to the house and gave us an estimate and a date when he could start. Rudy had to plan his work around the floor people and also the painter. He did this well. His work was excellent, always arrived when he said he would be there and was very neat. We will be having him back to do more work in the house and would recommend him highly.

We removed some of the floor boards on our front porch and realized that carpenter ants had been destroying the frame. We were not going to be able to just put new floor boards. I immediately called my pest service to come spray but they told me that they would when the old wood had been removed. I got several estimates for removing the old frame, putting a new one in and then laying new floor boards for half of my front porch. Rudy's quote was not only the lowest but I felt he was the most professional. When I hired Rudy to do the work he told me that he could start the work in about a week or so when he was finished with his current job and that he would call to let me know when he was able to start. He called me about two days prior. Rudy came with his helper and they completed it in two days. They took away the old wood and cleaned up at the end of each day. The front porch is sturdy once again and looks good.

Rudy( Tools to the Rescue) was quick with an estimate in comparison to the other 3. Rudy is a professional and perfectionist with his work and pays attention to the details as he goes. When it comes to having work done on your home, you can't ask for anyone better! Rudy was on time and cleaned up at the end of every work day. He has a very pleasant personality which makes it easy to discuss any issues that may arise. His price was mid range of the 4 estimates we got from Angie's List, we did wish he included the tax in immediately with the estimate but obviously not a deal breaker. We plan on using Rudy again in the near future.

Rudy and Tools for Hire are a thoroughly professional operation. We were pleased that he was able to accommodate my working hours and also punctual in scheduling an initial consultation for the work to be done in our home. He responded promptly to both our phone calls and email messages and was able to schedule a mutually convenient appointment. He gave us a preliminary verbal quote for the work and promptly followed up with a written quote (via email) that included the potential cost of materials. More importantly, during the 'walk-through' of the work, he helped us better understand how we could best work with him to ensure the best result. He offered his knowledge on a few other potential 'jobs' for free, without trying to charge us for work that was, frankly, much more cost effective for us to do. We appreciated his candor and professionalism as we find this type of 'fair' behavior uncommon in tradespeople that rely on repeat business. His work product was excellent: he performed the job to the highest standard to scope and cost. Before he even left, we were in discussions to have Rudy back to work on other items in the house! We would hire him again and, without hesitation, would recommend him to others who are looking to have work done on their home.

Work done in small home office was satisfactory. Had to point out one area that wasn't scraped and spackled properly. This work was done promptly and communication with Rudy was very good. We scheduled time to do work via phone and he showed up on time and finished work in a timely fashion. If this was the only work done, I would have been satisfied, given a better rating, and used Rudy again for future work. However I was very disappointed with the work done on the tile floor in the bathroom. The problem was that when Rudy said he was done, half of the floor had a haze over it, and half of it looked fine like it was supposed to (there was a distinct difference almost exactly in the middle of the floor). Rudy came back the next day and acknowledged the problem, and went to Home Depot to get a product that was supposed to remove the haze, however after scrubbing with that product, the haze problem was only marginally better. This is where my dissatisfaction intensified. I called Rudy the next day to tell him the problem still existed. He said he had started working on another project, but would get back to me to address the situation, and this is when the good communication we had until that point stopped. I realize he had another commitment, but I felt pretty much forgotten at this point, and was mad at myself for having already paid him in full, without being satisfied with the job. I contacted him a couple more times over the next two weeks, but he was still busy and said he would come back when he could. This tile work that I'm mentioning here was being done at my father's house (he's 91), and unbeknownst to me, he was so fed up waiting for Rudy, that he got down on his hands and knees and spent a couple of hours scrubbing the floor with Tilex cleaner, and got the job done. I called Rudy back to tell him to not bother coming back and how disappointed I was. In summary, for the amount of money I spent, I felt I should have gotten a better job. Like I said previously, I was happy with the work done in the office but not the bathroom. Maybe tiling and grouting are not Rudy's area of expertise, but he seemed confident going into the job, but fell short in the end.
Description of Work: Sheetrocked over damaged ceiling in small home office. Spackled and painted ceiling and painted walls in that room (ceiling paint included in cost, wall paint supplied by me at extra cost above cost of service). Removed old ceramic tiles on floor of small bathroom(approx. 5'x5') and replaced with new ceramic tiles. (Tile and grout supplied by me at extra cost above cost of service)

Everything was okay for the most part but he’s worked a little piece off of one of the little chandelier and he forgot to fix it. I didn’t feel like it was worth calling him back for that. But then he hung a big painting for me and fell off the wall in 2 weeks. So he really didn’t do a good job on that. He hung a big and a little chandelier for me and they were okay. They worked well, it was just that the little piece was not put on. I think the price was the going rate for the work that he did. He was the first one to call back and he showed up which I find almost rare. He came for an estimate and he came back to do the work.

Rudy was extremely diligent, punctual and clean. His work product was excellent (exactly as advertised) and my wife and I are very happy to have Rudy fix our numerous odds and ends. Rudy also installed without extra charge an electrical switch that had blown out just before his arrival. Prices were reasonable and similar to another estimate we had received for the same work. I am confident that we will work with Rudy again.

Rudy was very prompt and responsive. He came right on time, answered my calls and responded to emails. His work was excellent. The only thing he was not able to fix was a light fixture that was obstinate. No handyman has been able to repair this light fixture. I probably need to hire an electrician. This, in no way, diminishes Rudy's work as he did an excellent job. He was also a bit bashful. When I gave him a tip, he said it was too much. I gave it to him anyway. I would recommend him to my friends.

Rudy arrived for the the estimate and was in agreement of the work that needed to be done. He asked a lot of questions I didn't think of which made for a clear scope of work to be done. Much of the wood that needed to be replaced was as a result of water damage and carpenter ants. Rudy, did a great job, quick, detailed and clean.
