It was the worst experience in my life. They packed up my furnishing last Friday. They quoted me $6100. When the truck driver arrived they were going to pick up my things and take it up to New Jersey and it was a cross country deal. They will take the pack up to New Jersey and repack it along with other things and drive across the country. When it arrived the truck driver said this is an awful long way to walk. I said I went over in detail with the dispatcher and I offered to take photographs but she said it was not necessary. The guy said he is local and doesn’t work for Superjet and maybe he and I can work something out. I went to my apartment and told them what happened and she said, what? And I repeated it. She told me not to discuss anything with that man. She gave her cell phone number and said call me 25 times a day if needed. I was distressed because I got a guy who was dishonest. He packed it again up with two helpers and finished at 12:30 in the morning and he came up with the final paper work. I said it is incomplete and he had listed four pages of descriptions as box. The headline of the papers said, ‘Items in excess of $100 per pound’. I did see that he had noted my ironing board worth more than $100 per pound. I said I am not dealing with you and called the dispatcher. As soon as she got on the phone he said to her that I walked out first thing in the morning and treated him like a slave and I was flabbergasted. The other two helpers had done the work. He just went on and on. She said to me something is wrong. He gives me a paper saying I owe him another $11600. He has all my stuff on the truck so she gets to me on the phone and says she is going to give me a flat rate of $8000. They quoted me $6100 and I paid a deposit of $1800 and gave them a check before they started. I gave them a check that night for $2500. When they arrived I had to give them another $2500. I was okay with $8000. She called me the next day and she said when they arrived the next morning she took the keys and asked them to go home. She said she will look over my contract and then go to the warehouse and call back. She called back two days later and said the man is under investigation. She said she has the security guys go over every single box and item to make sure it was packed correctly and didn’t look like anything that was broken or destroyed on purpose. They photographed everything and loaded everything. She said she will call me 24 hours before it arrives in California. She said it was family business and horrified that this guy was working for them and he was probably doing this with other people. They didn’t pack properly. I had my crystal on the kitchen counter that I had washed and crystal vases on the dining table which was easy for them to pack and they didn’t even note that. They used some of my linens and tried charging for additional boxes. They could use my boxes and when I moved last time I saved 48 boxes. Lisa has been responsive. Regarding their punctuality they were on time.
