• $175 fee for the visit itself. It goes towards the repair, but if the repair is not performed and a follow up is required, you are now at their mercy. • Rescheduled on me without notice. I had to text them to verify. No apology. • They were unable to install a toilet because they claimed not to be able to reach a rear bolt. I later verified with other plumbers and Toto tech support that the bolts are not difficult to reach. • I tried reaching out via text and call but no response; it's now been 2 days. I can't be totally sure, but it looks like these guys just didn't wanna do the job, and were happy to collect just the fee. $175 for the visit fee got me some things at least: they picked up the toilet, they assessed the viability of installation, and they troubleshooted issues with my previous toilet. I just wish they would have gone through with the installation like we agreed. These guys used to be pretty decent but I guess contractors are in high demand, and they can afford to jerk around customers.

Our basement toilet started to overflow, so we called NJ American Water Company - we had outside line coverage. Our experience with NJ Water Company has been less than enjoyable - another review for another time. Ultimate Drain Cleaning was sent out to take a look. They determined that sewer pipe was clogged and believed the pipe was under a tree in our backyard and the roots had grown into the pipe. Two guys and a hack saw spent the entire day trying to saw through the massive roots to get to the pipe - damaging my brand new siding along the way. The hack saw sliced some of the siding - I had my entire house and garage completed just days before. Finally, they gave up and had to come back another day. Showed up again - completely unprepared for the job and no supervisory oversight. After two days, they still cant find the pipe. Keep in mind, my entire family have been without water or bathrooms for days. They decide we have to have the tree removed so they can get to the pipe. I spend $2,000 to remove the tree on a Saturday. The guys from Ultimate Drain Company come back and spend the entire day - again, no luck finding the pipe. During all of this, we have been without water or bathroom and still no sign of the owner or management on site. They finally wake up and send a backhoe out to dig a little deeper. I speak to the owner on the phone and he blames us for not removing enough of the stump so his guys can see the pipe - AND, tells us that he is losing money on this job because he is now over the contract amount he has with NJ American Water. He is footing the bill to get the backhoe. They dig and dig - No pipe. I am not sure what prompted them to look elsewhere, but after more than three days of onsite work to find a sewer pipe, they finally located the pipe and fixed it within minutes. It had collapsed and was not clogged by the roots of my tree. In fact, the pipe was sitting under my garage - exactly where the town had marked it. Amazing. In the end, I spent $2,000 to remove a perfectly healthy tree - for no reason AND the owner of the company is refusing to pay for the damage to my brand new siding. I am considering small claims court and will no doubt file a claim with the Better Business Bureau and request their license be revoked by the Township of Cranford. Do not use this company.
Description of Work: Made a simple job incredibly complex. Caused us to spend $2,000 to remove a tree because they believed a clogged sewer pipe was sitting under the tree and the roots were the cause of the clog. They were wrong - a few days later, they found the pipe, exactly where the town had marked it. I removed the tree for no reason. In addition, they caused $600 of damage to our newly sided garage. Brand new roof and siding completed just days before they started work. Company refuses to take responsibility and will not pay for damages.
