Quality 1st Basement Systems

The process was fairly quick and the job was well done.

We used quality 1st on two occasions in the past year to address water in the basement of our brownstone. They first addressed the problem from the crawlspace - installed a sump pump, water guard trench, and cleanspace wall system (they also added support to the ceiling, which is the floor of a kitchen above). Their approach was sound, the cost was fair, and we were very happy with their service and the work itself. They then returned to address water coming in from the main basement area - we worked together on a reasonable approach that included adding a 2nd sump pump, a water guard trench and cleanspace wall system only where needed. This required a lot of coordination and communication with our plumber as well - all went smoothly, work was performed and cleaned up professionally. So far, so good! I am in construction myself and I reviewed their approach with other professionals including an engineer, and I have a lot of confidence in their products, their pricing, and their work.

From the initial phone call to the completion of the job Quality 1st provided top notch professional service. A couple points which makes this easy to write. Communication is key whether in person or via telephone and Q1 was exceptional in this regard at every point. Telephone conversations with customer services was pleasant and cordial, never rushed or snotty. Paul our salesman was here for quite a while answering questions and assessing our needs in the basement. Of only was he on time for our appointment he was about 10 minutes early too. The cost of this project was a good chunk of change for us but after too many times of shop-vac’ing water we knew it was time to bite the bullet and move forward with making life a little easier and not have the issue of when will we get water in the basement again hanging over our heads. I was impressed that Quality 1st uses their own products and has their own R&D facilities. As for the installation, enough cannot be said for the crew that was here. I got the call at 9am they would be here in 20 minutes and at 9:20 they were backing in my driveway. I met the foreman Mario and his 2 helpers. We went into the basement and they looked around and asked if I had any questions. We had almost everything out of the basement and what was left they covered in plastic. By 9:50am they were running the jackhammers. We have a 1,500 sqft ranch and these guys worked all day, they didn’t stop and worked their tails off. I can’t remember exactly when the jackhammer stopped but by 2 pm the channel was dug out and they were beginning to lay out for the channel that carries the water to the sump. About 4pm Kyle showed up to assess the job and see if I had any questions or concerns. We spoke about the job and we went downstairs to see the progress. He stayed on site for about 45 minutes after making sure I was comfortable with how the job was going. By 5:15 or so the job was completely finished. Before they left Mario went over everything regarding the sump system. As far as cleanup, this is a dusty job. Concrete dust is ultra fine and they did a fantastic job of not only sweeping but they also dusted off areas which were not covered in plastic. They left no mess to speak of., I was very satisfied with their work and attention to detail. It’s easy to nitpick any job at anytime and there is nothing I would call them out on. Finally as for the functionality of the sump system I wish I had a comment on that at this time. We’ve lived in our house for 25 years and until around Thanksgiving of this year (2018) we’ve only had water about 4 times. Between Thanksgiving (2018) and New Years (2019) we got slammed 4 times and nothing since. With the symptoms of how our basement got water, I feel comfortable with the system Quality 1st installed and am confident they will stand behind their work and warranty. We’re also happy this is transferable to the next homeowner when we sell the house and it is an excellent selling point when the time comes.

The activity went well, on inspection some minor corrective items were noted which were readily handled with due dispatch before the team left the site. A re-inspection will be done after everything settles but do not expect any issues. The task was all outdoors thus weather factored in as the main non-work issue. Wherein scheduled times to perform this work were canceled a couple times by the work team and we had to reschedule in order to be available during the activity.

Wow, these guys were great. Professional, fast, and clean (important with a finished and carpeted basement). Price was very reasonable, and the peace of mind with 3 pumps instead of just one is priceless. The workers were on time, polite, and efficient.

I have no complaints. Our basement looks great and dry. It looks beautiful. If possible, an A+ for them. If I needed them again, I will definitely use them. When the man came for an estimate, there was no hard selling made. The work people were nice, courteous, and very respectful. They got the work done quickly in just a day and a half.

Everything was good so far so good.

It went very well! Steve was very professional! He was continually following up before and after the installation. We had a heavy rain the next day after the installation. For the 1st time we were not flooded again thanks to Quality 1st Basements service!

Great, maintenance done of dehumidifier system.

After waiting a couple of weeks for an appointment - after the time the agent was supposed to arrive I received a call cancelling my appointment. I was complete understanding that things happen and rescheduled for the next day as I had taken some vacation days to get this estimate and work done in my home. The next day after the scheduled appointment I’m calling and calling - no answer and no call to provide any updates. After my 2nd call and over 30 mins late - I received the most unprofessional text stating “Will call you later. Not going to make it. Sorry for the inconvenience. ” This is wasted time and money for a working person. And this is Unprofessional to any extreme!!!!

Buyer beware! Caused more issues/damage then helped. Over prices and doesn’t honor their work. Instead give an expensive quote of work that is not needed.

Quality 1st does what they say they are going to do when they say they are going to do it and for the agreed upon price. They communicate pertinent detail before during and after each job and/or service. Thoroughly professional. No surprises. The scope of the crawlspace lining and sealing was precisely what was required to resolve a long standing issue with drafts and mustiness originating in the crawlspace of our summer residence. Prior contractor did more harm than good. Quality 1st solved the problem. Zero interest financing made available for 12 months. Followed up with thorough crawlspace inspection at time of annual sump pump service (12/14/2018)

Steve explained how and what was causing the water to come into my basement. He had very helpful videos which further explained the issue I was experiencing and how their services would fix the problem. Having water issues in your house is very stressful and frustrating, it was nice to have someone that understood what I was going through and took the time to walk me through everything.

Great...crew arrived on time and went to work immediately..very professional...did an excellent job ..when they finished everything was cleaned up and back in place..they wasted no time in and out ...very satisfied...

Representative was friendly and helpful. I thought all the follow up work would have been completed during the visit. Unfortunately that was not the case as tiles needed to be ordered. My overall experience with Quality 1st has been positive.

From initial call to final installation was impressed all around with professionalism with this company. I have never had work performed in my home that went as smoothly as this did. And when the installers left it was like they were never here... they left it as clean as it was when they got here.

Crew was punctual, neat and did a great job. They kept me abreast of what they were doing and how long it would take. Problems encountered were explained in a way I could understand. I would definitely hire them again, highly recommend

After trying with cement a spay sealer was used and is still holding.

Amazing! My sidewalks were a trip hazard. I could not enjoy my front porch because I thought someone would trip every time they walked by. First Quality came by and in ONE HOUR my sidewalks were level. I only wish I did this sooner! I can now enjoy my front porch again! No mess, really professional work men, great work! Thank you!
