Effective Basement Solutions

The person who provided the service was very professional and arrived on time. He took his time and inspected my entire basement. After inspection, he designed a plan to mitigate the incoming water problem. A full plan was provided with an estimate total for the job. The estimate was very reasonable and better than the other companies provided. I recommend this company and their services.

It went very well, I liked them. There was a problem with scheduling but in the end it all worked out.

Used Angie's list Big Deal for the pump. The rest was done because no water remediation had ever been installed in my basement. Once date was set, three men came to install pump. They were pleasant and efficient. Offered guarantees on work.

All went great. Provider removed old pumps, I had two, and PVC piping. Installed pumps with new piping and enlarged sump pump tank water seepage holes.

They called me right away, but I never called back. So they were prompt. Didn't use. I seen the fine print, and didn't want to use, due to possible additional costs. Didn't want to start, and potentially not finish with them. I may use them in the future for something else.

We had an appointment and he called before hand and said he couldn't come. We rescheduled and he never showed up or called.

Franco provided an estimate for a sump pump and French drain. I thought Franco was excellent. Though I am not sure I will have any work done, Franco was knowledgeable, provided great insight and advice, and was not pushy at all. I think Franco is trustworthy and will work with him if I have the work done.

They did good work, but I felt that the technician was trying to upsell me during the service call.

The man came and said we have a bigger problem. He did say he would apply the deal to the total cost. We got some other quotes and contacted consumer reports about these companies. At the time it said that this company's license expired in June 2014. We had him there in September 2014. It didn't say it was revoked but that it was not renewed. This was per New Jersey Consumer Affairs and Momouth County. We decided to go with another company. He seemed very efficient and nice.

I needed someone to come quickly, and Franco came within an hour. I had to go to work, so we communicated via phone and he was helpful in explaining the problems that he found and what he felt would be a perm solution. Mostly, I appreciated his quick response to my home.

I first called Effective Basement Solutions in the summer for a basic basement inspection and evaluation based on a promotion they were running through Angie's List. Franco came and performed the inspection. He was very instructive and clear in explaining what I needed to do and why. He also provided several recommendations on other work I could to do stop some water intrusion issues and explained what the purpose would be. There was no pressure and he left me a very detailed estimate and indicated they were ready to do the work whenever I was ready. Of course, I got sidetracked. Six months later, I call Franco and he was ready, willing and able to do the sump pump install immediately. They came the next day and not only honored the estimate that was given, but installed the new basin, pump and piping required. They were in fact, efficient, fast and effective. I would definitely use this company again and recommend their services without reservation based on my experiences with them.

They were on time, got it done in a week. They cleaned it all up for me. They even took stuff away for me that they didn't have to.

Franco and his crew came on time and did a very thorough installation of a French drain. His price was the best of 4 contractors I got estimates from. He was very accommodating and willing to work with you on fine details of the project. Overall the work went very well, and 2 years later our basement is nicely dry

Franco talked us through all the details and variables, and he recommended we try the easy and less expensive solution first. We are very hopeful it will solve the problem, but if not we will not hesitate to hire Effective Basement Solutions again.

He came and installed a sump pump. I still have the same leakeage. The issue was not diagnosed properly. He rescheduled several times before finally coming out again. Every time they came out for the appointment they were late.

They have changed estimates with in 2 days.

I put the letter grade of "C" because Angie's List does not provide an "N/A" category. No actual work was performed, so the letter grade does not reflect my evaluation of work performed. Here are the facts: I scheduled a sump inspection and then nobody came. The contractor was surprised to hear from me when I called to follow up 20 minutes after the appointed time. Not ideal for me. I'm busy with kids and work, and had arranged my schedule around this, so I don't like to waste time and not accomplish things. To his credit, he readily agreed to a refund! So the letter grade reflects only my experience of dissatisfaction with arranging something and not having it happen at all.

I want to preface this with, I have no issue with the provider "Effective Basement Solutions." Ultimately, no detailed report was provided. I was given a simple quotation for a french drain and drainage installation to the street. Let me detail the interaction with the contractor: The technician came out to do his inspection, I led him around the property where he looked at various components of the basement. He suggested a waterproofing solution of a french drain and drainage to the street. I asked him, "do they give free estimates?" He said "yes," and I said then "what do I get for my $50 Angie's List big deal?" He said he didn't know but, "He never sees that money." He said, "Angie's List advertises for him, so the $50 pays Angie's List for that." I said, "So what am I getting for $50 especially since it is advertised as a $149 service at a discount?" He said, "Well, I used gas to get here and my time to give you this estimate." I said, "but you just told me you give free estimates!" He said "What do you want a refund or something?" I said, "not from him, I'll take it up with Angie's List." Again, all I received from the contractor was his standard estimate, which he said he gives for free.

We have had a good experience. We had purchased a big deal for the service. They told me what the job would cost, and they did the job.
