Description of Work: Completed difficult corner of basement that the previous waterproofing company skipped before I bought the house. They dug around a large sewer pipe in a corner of the basement where water comes in when it rains hard, filled it with gravel, connected it to the current drainage system and cemented the floor back up. It went very well. I would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: On September 22 I responded to your $49 offer for a basement inspection. I was contacted by Effective Basement Solutions and after an exchange of emails we agreed on an appointment at 10:00 AM on September 29. I waited for two hours but they never showed for the appointment. They called me this evening (September 29) around 6:00 to tell me they had lost the appointment. I do not have time in the immediate future to reschedule so I would prefer to cancel the service and receive a refund of the $49 I paid.

Description of Work: Franco and comthepany came in on time and started to work. They had to drill a hole in the basement floor and put a sump pump in.They also had to drill a hole throu the wall to discharge the water.They ran plastic piping through the wall into the front yard.I think they did a very good job

Description of Work: We had a sump pump installed in our basement, where there was not previously one before. They also dug a hole in the yard for the drainage to go far away from the house. They worked quickly and did a great job, and left a clean space after they left. Franco was very knowledgeable and easy to communicate with.

Description of Work: It took three weeks to hear from him after I had called him twice to make an appointment. I connected with him online finally, but he didn't call me for a week and when he did, we made an appointment for the following Monday, but he never showed up. When we spoke, I told him what I wanted, and I got the feeling that the thought of just coming to check my battery equipment was not what he wanted...... Frankly, I would like my money back-$49.00 for a thoroughly unsatisfying experience. And, no, if he were to contact me again to come by, I don't want to do business with him or his company.

+ 0 moreAfter 1 week of being in our new home, we noticed water in our basement after a heavy rain, something that wasn't evident in all our inspections. Being in the house with my 4 year old daughter and pregnant wife I decided to do some research. I found Franco who came for an estimate and he came up with a plan. His prices for a full basement french drain, sump pump, back up pump and repair were extremley reasonable compared to the larger companies. Franco and his crew became part of our family for a week and were extremley clean and curtious the whole way through explaining every detail. They even took care of a few extra things along the way at no charge....these guys do everything. Upon completion his company "guarantees" no more basement water and issues a certificate to back his words up. Franco was also very helpful discussing the issues with my insurance agent/inspector which lead to my policy covering part of the costs. I would highley reccomend this company for any basement waterproofing project small or big.

+ 1 moreIf you are looking for a honest and principled contractor, Franco is that guy. ...Our condo association hired another company for basement waterproofing we found through Angie's List. Effective Basement Solution was the subcontractor to this project-- a surprise right there. After a couple of months of shadiness, it turned out the Other company was going through a internal meltdown, ran away with our deposit and turned the project into a nightmare experience. With the contract terminated, we were left hanging with a torn up basement. Franco stepped up to fill the void and completed the job he has already started. Come to find out, he even put his company on the line all along, doing things that original company was obligated to do, just so the project could move forward and we were not left high and dry. Once Effective Basement Solution was in charge everything went perfectly. All projected deadlines were met, expectations clearly managed and work done per agreement. Franco was very accessible through all forms of communication channels. As a bonus, Franco is the owner of the company, yet he is right there doing the work. Effective Basement Solution has a large share of business in NJ. Wish we found him on Angie's all along and that is why I am posting this review. Our nightmare scenario could not have had a better ending. The association is considering some basement refinishing in a couple of months and we already know Effective Basement Solution will be the one on the job.
