I have contacted at least 8 companies and Effective Basement Solutions was the most honest and knowledgeable. Most companies said I needed a French drain (which did not because I already have one) and Franco not only provided me a solution at a fraction of the cost of a french drain, but one that stopped the water from coming in my downward sloped driveway. Him and his crew were also able to rerun piping underground.

I really wanted to give a good review and initially I thought I could. Unfortunately with this type of service you will not know if your problem is resolved in many cases until you have a major downpour in your area. That was my case after I hired Effective Basement Solutions as I had water come in my basement during a major storm. I called Franco, left messages without receiving a reply initially. He finally did respond via text stating that he was out of the country and was detained because of covid 19 and that he would contact me once he was back in the country. Months passed and I never heard from him. After another storm I reached out to him again and to this day I have not received a response. If you hire Effective Basement Solutions you may be lucky and have your waterproofing needs met however based on my experience if there is a problem I would advise you to not expect any support and an honoring of his stated warranty. My review is solely based on my experience, use your own judgement. Note; the service performed was installing a new sump pit, sump pump and foundation drain.

Franco and his crew were great. Showed on time. Laid out drop clothes everywhere and had the new sump pit and battery backup installed in half a day. Price was also much more reasonable then others I spoke with.

I hired them to conduct my mold inspection when I reached out to them a week after mold testing I did not get a response. I asked when test would be complete he said one week... I texted and called though I could not leave a voicemail because the mailbox was full. I would never hire them again and do not recommend them for any service. My home inspector found the mold when he did the inspection. When I specifically hired this company to find any mold; which they did not find any mold while they were there supposedly. They are not reliable and unprofessional.

Franco was absolutely fantastic! Very detailed in explaining the project. I was having issues with water getting in the basement. Once he and his crew finished the work, never had a problem, even during the most recent storm. Highly recommend backup battery if you don't have a generator. Best price too!

Franco called me over the weekend when I needed help and explained every detail of the job to me and my options. He was on-site the whole time. Installed Sump Pump and pit. Professional, clean job. Great customer service and the price was right. I got 3 different estimates and I couldn't have been happier with the work. Always difficult to make decisions on things you don't know much about but You should feel confident using these guys

My experience with Effective Basement Solutions was not good or like the other reviews I am seeing, so I have to question their validity. I called this business because water was pooling in my moms basement. I came into town just to deal with the issue and met with a fellow named Franco who owns Effective Basement Solutions. He came out and was confident that he could fix my problem by installing a sump pump and told me it would cost $1,200. He was less expensive than a few others and his reviews were pretty good, so I agreed to go with him. He sent two guys who spent a few hours working in my basement. When finished, they insisted that I pay them before I really knew if they fixed the problem but I did anyways and within 24 hours, the water returned. I called Franco, and he gave me a few excuses and said it would take another $600 to fix, so I agreed, and he sent the same two guys back that did the initial work. They said they found the problem and assured me it had been fixed, so I paid them, again. Low and behold, within 24 hours I still had water pooling on my basement floor, so I called Franco AGAIN, and he gave me all sorts of excuses and said this time it would take another $1,400 to fix it for good. Because I was in a hurry and just wanted the problem fixed, I agreed so the same two guys came back again and spent many hours working and again promised that they finally found and fixed the problem once and for all. They wanted to be paid in full but because I was not in town to see for myself, I paid him $1,000 and withheld the additional $400 to see if the problem was really fixed. As you would guess, the problem was NOT fixed and the water returned but Franco would not honor his guarantee and threatened to sue me if I did not pay the additional $400. He said if I paid the additional amount he would activate my guarantee and would return to fix the problem. As you would guess, that was a lie. I paid the final $400 and asked him to come back to fix it but Franco refused and tried to make it appear like there was not anything more he could do. He NEVER returned to assess or fix the problem as he will predictably state in his response. Additionally, he will also lie and try to claim the water was most likely coming from the furnace which is not operating during the summer and was already replaced the previous winter. The furnace does not have anything to do with the ground water coming in. This is a fact because it was checked out by a number of other people well before I called Effective Basement Solutions to fix my water problem. Franco will also lie and state that my basement window was leaking which is a bunch of baloney since it was checked previous to me calling him. I already had it sealed by installing a window well cover and new window seal so it is as tight as a drum. The bottom line is that Franco did not honor his guarantee and got in over his head because he did not know how to fix the problem but acted like he did. I spent too much money and was taken advantage of by this business owner. Franco was paid a total of $3,200 and did not do what he promised or was paid to do or honor his guarantee which is virtually worthless. I have since contracted with another more reputable company to come in and fix the problem that Franco was paid three times to do. I suggest before anyone hires this clown and pays him in full, you make sure he fixes the problem you hired him to fix because he will suck as much money out of you as he can and then not honor his guarantee. Franco appeared to be such a nice guy but it is all fake. Boy was I fooled.

Everything went as expected. Franco's communication was excellent. Franco's site survey, quote, approval and installation went smooth. Very satisfied and would recommend him to others.

They did an excellent job. Franco was in touch at all times. All items were put back in place. Neat and clean. Job completed in 2 days.

I thought the overall process was good. just hoping the sump pump resolves the issue.

When I moved in the house, the basement was flooded so bad like a swimming pool! Franco came and did an inspection. Unlike the other guys who just try to sell stuff and make more money, Franco understood my needs and concerns and suggested to install 2 sump pump first and see if french drain system is still needed after that. It worked great! He and his worker skipped lunch to get the work done in one day. I haven't seen any water ever since, even after heavy rain and thunder storm. Problem solved by 2 sump pumps, which didn't cost as much as I thought. Well the basement still feel moisture and may need more work down the road, but so far I am very happy, and as he told me I can always add the whole system on top of those 2 pumps, nothing goes to waste. Fair price, great work, nice and responsive professional, there is nothing else I can ask for.
