Description of Work: Over the past 5 years I have purchased specimen plants from Plant Detectives. Their nursery stock is the finest I have ever seen and I am a very experienced gardener. If they do not have the plant you want, they will find it and have it shipped. Their delivery service is excellent. The drivers are always willing to help in positioning the plant - no matter how large. The owner of Plant Detectives, Art Laster is professional, competent, honest, and always trying to help. It is a pleasure doing business with them. They are the best!!!!

+ -1 moreThey offer plants for our growing conditions and are very knowledgeable about which plants are deer resistant (especially important to me). I like their selection...PD had some specific cultivars I was looking for and suggested alternatives if not available. The plants were all healthy and situated in suitable locations for their growing conditions (ie shade plants where in shaded areas and therefore not suffering from leaf scorch!) And plant description tags, price tags were readily visible. My only suggestion would be that the rows of plants be marked for easier identification (like Condurso's in Montville), as opposed to looking around for the plant tag. I had one staff member spend a good 1/2 hr with me picking out perennials. He was incredibly patient, informative and steered me toward a better cultivar for one of my picks - I'm very happy with his recommendation.
Description of Work: I've shopped here several times. The selection and quality of plants at this nursery are excellent. The service is equally fantastic and the staff is very knowledgeable; there is always someone there who can answer a specific/detailed question. The prices are very fair & reasonable - you are paying for quality, so don't expect Home Depot prices. They have a loyalty program providing 10% off your purchase, you just need to sign up for their card (free). BRING BOOTS! - it can be muddy to walk around their stock.
