The estimate given was for total removal of the stand (on our property) and whatever had encroached on our neighbor's property and an estimate for a barrier to maintain the stand of bamboo which is what we preferred. When they needed to work on the neighbor's property, they had to remove part of their fence and put it back after the work was completed. The work took 2 1/2 days. The crew of 3 were polite and explained everything in detail. The owner also spoke with the neighbor and she commented on how professional they were and how good it looked afterwards. They cleaned up the entire area and prepared it so that we could put down lawn seed to replace what grass was taken up. They even used a leaf blower to clean the driveway all the way out to where the equipment trailer was. They also took some tree branches that my husband had stacked behind the shed and put it into the dumpster. We had no idea how much debris rhizomes (bamboo roots) produced. Just doing the barrier method produced a large dumpster full. The labor was intensive. They guaranteed that they would be back in the spring to check both sides for new growth and to see if there were any rhizomes missed. They will remove any that they missed. The company traveled from Chester NJ to Middletown, DE which is about a 2 1/2 hour drive each way. We would definitely use this company again should it be necessary.
Description of Work: Identified all bamboo rhizomes and removed rhizomes from our yard and neighbor's. Included excavation & labor. Installed a barrier to maintain the grove of bamboo. The stand was 15+ years old and was 125 linear feet. in size.

The employees of NJ Bamboo are generally very polite and professional. The majority of the project went well, but it seemed like it was bigger than they expected. This surprised us since they had seen the property already and their quote was significantly higher (5x) than we paid for cane removal so we expected them to be prepared for the size. The team consisted of two people the first day and grew to 4 people by the end of the project. They arrived between 10 and 10:30 most days and worked until 4:30 (one day they were here longer). It took 4 days. We found some large rhizomes a few days after the project was finished, but were told they normally can remove 90-95 percent of rhizomes so this is expected. We had someone else return to handle the remainder a short time later (NJ Bamboo did offer to return, but only after a series of emails and we felt it was easier to have someone else handle it).
Description of Work: We had a large scale bamboo removal. The canes were cut down by someone who was not a bamboo expert. NJ Bamboo removed the stumps and most of the rhizomes and smoothed the land.

When we bought our house we noticed that there was bamboo coming into our yard underneath a neighboring fence. While the bamboo looked nice, each year it continued to grow more and more, taking up more of our yard and threatening structures like our shed and pool. I called a number of bamboo experts in our area and I was shocked that only one company contacted us back. Kenny and Alex at New Jersey Bamboo, were so easy to deal with on the phone and via email. They wanted to understand exactly what I needed done and once they assessed the situation they gave me an exact breakdown of the price. They scheduled us within a week of us agreeing to hire them. Kenny and his crew arrived promptly on the agreed upon date. The guys got right to work and were more than cautious not to make too much noise as they new my daughter was napping. Once they were finished, Kenny, walked me threw what they did and gave me advice on what to do with the stray shoots that may pop up. They actually finished the job in half the time that he quoted and adjusted the price accordingly. From beginning to end New Jersey Bamboo were extremely professional and the worked they did was outstanding. I would hire them again for any of my landscaping needs.
Description of Work: New Jersey Bamboo created a barrier between my yard and another yard where bamboo was crossing over. They also removed any bamboo that was remaining in my yard.
