Excellent from first contact thru final inspection

After calling Chris Heil's shop to get an estimate, I was told that they did not do bonding/grounding of gas pipes. So I went on to other firms. BUT Black River submitted for permits anyway, despite NO agreement that they would do the work that they said they didn't know how to do anyway. They not only submitted for the electrical permit, but got their name on the PLUMBING permit as well. My permit package was a mess and delayed for weeks while unexpected changes of contractor forms were submitted. To add insult to injury, Black River charged me $100 for their "change of contractor".

We were very pleased with the entire experience and felt well served. We called and asked to have a estimate prepared in December 2012. The owner arrived on time and spent about 1/2 hour looking at the house, the gas lines and electrical setup. He then explained clearly the multiple options and prices. After doing some research on competitive pricing, we decided in January on an option and to use Black River to do the work. The work was scheduled for March and Black River took care of the town building permit requirements. The work started as scheduled and was completed in one day by two people, with the owner providing periodic oversight. The owner returned in a day or two and walked us through how it operated and maintenance requirements. About two weeks after the unit was installed and connected, we had a power outage for about 2 hours and the generator kicked on and did performed as intended.

All went OK except for a problem with passing code inspection, which was promptly resolved.

Overall, the experience of working with Black River was exceptional. I am totally satisfied. I got 2 other quote prior to Black River Electric's. His was the best price and he made the whole process so easy! The permits were processed, and generator was ordered, delivered and installed in about 3 weeks. I recommend Black River Electric to anyone who wants a generator installed. You will not be disappointed.
