Description of Work: Thorough job - did not give me receipt. I asked for it later by email, and received it. But it had the wrong date and no statement of the condition of the dryer duct. Otherwise they did a very detailed cleaning and explanation.

Description of Work: While I paid for the initial cleaning of my dryer vent, we opted to pay the service person for replacement of the vent the entire vent. Fast, prompt, and efficient service.

Description of Work: Purchased coupon for their service through Angie's List 8/9/15. I immediately gave them 3 appointment times within their parameters and our phone number with the purchase "click". I received an unresponsive automated email 8/10/15 in my account (which I did not see until much later) which said they would set up an appointment. I believe I called to get an appointment a few times, but not realizing I should have documented it, I did not. On 9/1/15 I emailed them after I called Angie's list and Angie's list to tell them I was still trying to get an appointment and Angie's List told me about the message center. |The vender made an appointment for between 10-12 on 8/9/15. After waiting until 2:30 they finally called to say they would be late (!) and they would arrive between 4-6. |When they finally arrived (late again), we showed them where the dryer and vent outlet were. We expected them to finally perform "dryer vent cleaning" without any more problems. They got started and asked how long it had been since the service was last performed. We said we did not know since we had recently purchased the house. They said the vent was clogged, and we needed an "unclog" service from them instead of merely a dryer vent cleaning. They wanted an ADDITIONAL $89 (which showed up as $94 on the technician's notepad). I told them I signed up for my dryer vent to be cleaned and I did not know the difference between cleaning and unclogging, because in either case I should have had a clean vent in the end. |During this time I called Angie's List and spoke to a representative about the issue and the fact that as a contract's attorney, I truly understood that what I already paid for was having my vent cleaned, with no caveats. |As the technician said he was only a technician (he had talked to his boss) and I had to pay $89 extra (again, $94 on his notebook), and he became more insistent, I told him to get off my property. |To this day I have no idea if Angie's List is standing behind me. I received an email from the vent cleaning company which said I might have an outstanding invoice and to contact them. Angie's List only advise so far was to write this review. |The day of the service when I was on the phone with the Angie's List representative she said the BIG DEAL people were not in, and maybe they needed to look at the language of "dryer vent cleaning" so that a contracts attorney such as myself understood there are caveats if that is what the vendor intended. I have no idea when and how this nightmare will be over!

Description of Work: Recently had new dryer installed and delivery did not clean out duct before they installed a new aluminum vent hose. Duct Guy was great! Came in and inspected entire set up done by delivery with professional opinion of incorrect installation. Not only cleaned out the entire duct system but took everything apart and re-install the correct duct vent hose for me for a few dollars extra. I have now a new sense of security that I don't have to worry about a dryer fire and that my dryer is safely installed for ventilation. I will definitely use the Duct Guy again next year when its time to clean again!
