I bought a coupon for dryer vent cleaning on Angie's List. The guy came and took a look at our setup. He saw lint coming out of the outside vent and immediately started to upsell me. He insisted that there was a blockage or a birds nest. I said that we had no issues with the dryer and that it was just lint. He sold me a cover for the vent so that birds couldn't get in. I was actually happy to pay for that. But then he upsold me on the dryer vent cleaning. Said the coupon that I bought was only a basic cleaning but did not include removing a blockage. He charged me another $100 to clean the flue completely. I watched the entire time and he did do a really good job, however, there was no blockage. I paid an extra $100 for nothing. Beware that. But otherwise they did a really thorough job and were clean (wearing shoe covers) and cleaned up their mess including vacuming the area, and moved everythign back into place. I might use them again because they at least provided quality service. The coupon thing is a ruse, however.

Extremely positive experience. Office staff is courteous, professional, knowledgeable and responsive. Phone calls always answered. Written quotes, invoices, and receipts provided by email within minutes. Appointments made quickly. The crew, equally courteous and professional, showed up exactly on time and did a great job. I would use them again and I would recommend them to others.

Since I posted my last, less than stellar, review the owner has agreed to replace the damaged lint screen. He asked that I update my review to reflect this action. I told his secretary that I would be more than happy to do so once I had the new lint screen in my hand. It arrived in today's mail and is currently in my dryer. I appreciate the company replacing the item.

Great, promptly, and efficiently

This was a $59 big deal purchase. I think it went okay. They only cleaned the outside of the duct because our interior duct is a little hard to get to. They just kind of popped the outside cover off and went in maybe 20 feet and I was kind of hoping they they would look at the inside. They did not really address it and kind of ignored it. So I think $59 is kind of a little much for shoving a vacuum in the duct and only cleaning the outside.

They did a great job. Very friendly and punctual. Price was reasonable. Will be calling them yearly for vent cleaning.

It went well. They were on time, which was important. They finished in about an hour. They wore booties into the house, since I think it was raining outside, or had rained the night before. They were cool with my dog. I'd highly recommend.

Amazing! I read reviews where people had trouble scheduling, and some miscommunication, but everything went perfectly! I spoke with Heidi at the office, she was very accommodating on times, since my parents were coming up to wait at the house since I was at work. I have a small house, but the previous owners had a dog, and I don't think they ever had the ducts cleaned. on top of that, when I bought the house, I had the popcorn ceiling removed, so you can imagine how much was in there! I have 10 vents. The day before the cleaning, I realized a large bookcase in one of the bedrooms, which was mounted to the wall, covered a portion of the vent in that room. I was fine with not having that vent cleaned, since the shelving until is very large and heavy. But Levin and Wilson unscrewed it, cleaned the vent, and screwed it back in- they went above and beyond, without even asking, or seeming annoyed or put out. The house smells great, the air circulates better. I would not hesitate to use this company again, or recommend them to anyone- I really lucked out! A++++. Kudos to the entire team!

They were not willing to provide a paper copy of my receipt. They wanted to charge me $39 for the cage to keep birds out the dryer vent with a $59 installation fee. I feel they were price gauging. The guy who came to do the service was professional, but do to the paper bill and price gauging I will not be using them next year.

We called to The Duct Guys to take advantage of the special price of $59 to clean the duct for clothes dryer. Two technicians arrived as promised. All work was done in kitchen. Pulled dryer out without protecting wood floor and after they left I found scratch marks. They told my husband and I that the dryer needed a new hose to connect the dryer to wall vent. We asked how much this was going to cost and they said app. $175. We asked if this included cleaning. They said YES. most of the time was spent vacuuming out lint from dryer. Put on new hose and later told us, without our consent that thy also replaced the cover on the outlet to outside. The technician was totaling charges on his hand-held device and said it would come by email. We both asked again as he was doing this if the cleaning was included in the bill. He said YES. We both heard him. We paid in cash which we never do and will never do again. A few days later a credit card statement came with the "special $59 charge for cleaning." I called Angie's List and a representative tried to straighten out the bill. The Duct Guys insisted that the technician did NOT tell us the total included the cleaning. Angie's List representative believed The Duct Guys. So the cost soon rose to $239. We feel we have been scammed by The Duct Guys. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. THE SPECIAL IS DECEPTIVE. The repair cost was overpriced as well.

The original plan was to simply clean the ducts running from the clothes dryer to the roof. However, the serviceman, Levin, immediately saw that the ducts were very old plastic ones and posed a fire hazard. So he and his assistant replaced the old ducts with metal tubes. At first, it looked as if the job might be much more complicated than it turned out to be; Levin clearly explained what the options and potential problems. I also appreciated their cleaning out the inside of the dryer itself. I thought the price was fair. An excellent company. I'll do business with them again.

I schedule to have my dryer duct cleaned. Dryer is in an interior location with duct running 20 feet to outside wall on third floor. When technicians arrived, I told them that water was building up in duct and they said there was likely an obstruction somewhere. I had figured that there probably was since the ceiling below duct was having some water leaking. They cleaned out duct and opened the ceiling to find where the problem was. There was too fine of a screen at the outside wductall. They removed the screen and repaired the duct. They do not fix drywall but they taped over the holes nicely until I have a chance to fix it. I was notified about this prior to them opening up the ceiling so it was not a surprise. Finally, they cleaned up everything including all the dust from cutting through drywall. I could not be happier with the service.

It was average as far as like the work. Part of the process that you clean the ducts you have to open up the vents as expected when you have the place taken over it feels tight and sharp and he had a razor blade to kind of cut it open which is part of their process. But what I was kind of pissed off about was that when he was doing in an awkward angle that tore into my wall. The guy did some minor repairs there, so maybe it was a matter of experience because the kid was pretty young and so maybe it's a matter of training. That was the main sitting point for me potentially not using them in the future. For price they are comparable with their peers. They were pretty responsive when I called them and requested changes. The kid had a language barrier issue. I think the care in the individual vents is kind of central to their work and the fact that I found three different areas kind of messed up was a shame.

I wouldn't know whether or not they did the job well, but I have never had any problems with my dryer. I assume they did clean it out. They went out back and downstairs and did that. They were professional and seemed like they did their job. They are fine. I did not get an estimate for this job because it was clear-cut. Their responsiveness was pretty good. I think they are very busy people. Sometimes it takes a while to schedule an appointment. They usually are pretty good at getting back to me.
