Working with Tom and his guys was a great experience. They were at our home by 8 a.m. every weekday of the project. They were thoughtful, responsive and did great work from designing a banquette bench to installing a wood floor. Tom made sure every detail was addressed. We were happy with the vendors and subcontractors Tom chose. He gave us detailed updates on project finances. We love our new space.

This job involved significant structural work in the kitchen as it included removal of a main bearing wall and installation of a flush mount steel I beam. Final result was a kitchen and family room living space combined as one. Great for entertaining! We appreciate the work the Zegan's allowed us to perform and complete for them.

The original timeline was honored even though much work was added. Tom's crew was very punctual and worked steadily every day from 8:00 to 4:30 with a break for lunch. I appreciated how they cleaned up at the end of every day and were very respectful. I would not hesitate to use Tom again. I recommend him highly!
Description of Work: I originally contacted Tom to get an estimate on a bathroom reno. His price was very close to a first estimate I had gotten, but his suggestions made him the better choice for me. Once the work started I soon realized what quality work Tom and his crew were capable of doing, so the project grew. In addition to the complete makeover of my master bath all interior doors were replaced, bedroom closets were built for both bedrooms and new flooring was laid in the bedrooms.

Challenges surrounding this bathroom renovation project included a townhouse situation limiting the work space area during winter and inconvenience to the client during construction as the home only has 1 1/2 bathrooms. Fortunately she was a good sport about it and utilized the facilities of her local health club to take showers.

I have used Tom Michalik for several previous home remodeling projects. Over the years, I have joked that this is the house that Tom rebuilt. He is everything one would hope for in a contractor- reliable, honest, prompt, communicative, responsive and reasonably priced. He treats his workers and his subcontractors well and many of the same employees have worked on my home over the years, providing continuity. His goal is to provide quality work that makes the customer happy. When problems or changes to the plan occur (as they always do), he rises to meet them. He has been my trusted go-to contractor for over 12 years and continue to recommend him to friends and co-workers.
Description of Work: Second story addition with construction of master bathroom, walk in closet, laundry room, remodeling of guest bathroom, installation of hardwood floor throughout the existing second floor and painting of all rooms.

This homeowner has utilized our company services several times over the years successfully completing several substantial projects. This latest project involved construction of a large second story rear addition. Exposing a home to the elements as was done in this case requires proper management, resources and commitment to minimize risk of damage. My men committed themselves by working overtime through a weekend to make sure the exposure time was minimized with all materials and resources staged on site to maximize efficiency to produce. As always we are thankful for the frequency of work we receive from our repeat clients.

Description of Work: Total renovation of a bathroom. I have used this contractor many times. They are the most professional in all aspects . Description of Work: They added a handrail from our deck to the patio. Before that, they updated my kitchen by removing the dining room wall to make it one large room, and also added an island in the original kitchen area.
