In October 2023, I hired this company to determine the condition of the foundation and repairs made, and to determine what other repairs, if any, are required. Their report, provided without photos, included only general recommendations and stated that everything was stable. In October 2024, as I prepared to make upgrades, several general contractors informed me that the main beams supporting the house were completely rotted and needed replacement. I then consulted a contractor specializing in structural repairs, who confirmed this assessment. After learning this, I contacted Lukoff Engineering to request a follow-up inspection. On October 22, 2024, Mr. Lukoff and his associate, Vinnie, visited my residence and informed me I would receive an update within 24–48 hours. However, as of today, November 10, 2024, I have yet to hear back. Despite multiple calls, emails, and voicemails asking for an update, I have received no response. Eventually, I requested only the photos from the October 2023 inspection, which I paid for, as well as any photos taken during their recent visit, if available. I should have done my due diligence by reading some google reviews before hiring them as they are doing the same thing they did to many others.... Please steer clear of this company.

Rich came out and did an inspection for a structural issue at a rental property. He showed up on time and made his evaluations. It then took over 2 months and repeated requests for him to produce the report. After finally receiving the report I had contractors come out to do an estimate to make the repairs. Both contractors disagreed with his report and thought more work was needed to be done to do the repairs properly. When I questioned Rich on this he said it's possible that he could be wrong and that he would be willing to meet with a contractor onsite to go over the job. After another five weeks and numerous unreturned emails and phone calls and I finally gave up and decided to move forward with the project without any further consultation from Rich. Rich is a very nice person, but I would not recommend doing business with him.

Lukoff Engineering was supposed to perform a structural inspection for a township permit, however, the receptionist misinterpreted my telephone number so I did not hear from them regarding the appointment. There was also no mention of them sending me a confirmation email. I do take responsibility for not actively checking my email, however, I do not understand why my phone number was recorded incorrectly. The reception was otherwise professional although my needs were not met.

I contacted Lukoff Engineering to have my parent's shore house evaluated after Superstorm Sandy. Richard Lukoff responded to my initial phone call promptly, and we set a date for the inspection and a price of $500. The appointment was scheduled for 12/12/2012. He arrived at the house timely; was polite; performed what appeared to be a thorough inspection; took pictures; and gave us his initial determination on the house's structural integrity. We asked him to prepare a written report of his findings and recommendations. He said no problem! A few days after the new year, I phoned Lukoff Engineering to see when we could expect the report. Mr. Lukoff said that they were just finishing up the report and he expected to mail it the next day, and he would also e-mail me a copy. Nothing came that week, so the following week I called to see where the report was. The call went straight to voice mail, so I left a message; but this time there was no return phone call. I have since called the Lukoff Engineering office about 10 times. No one ever answers; it goes straight to voice mail. In December, when I first called Lukoff Engineering, there was a receptionist answering the phone. No longer; just voice mail. I even left a message stating that, if he was behind schedule, I understood and I just wanted some estimate as to when the report might be done. I also said that if he couldn't do the report, just tell me and I would go to someone else. Nothing! This guy has just "vanished." It is very bizarre because of the time and effort Richard Lukoff already put into the "job" by driving to the shore and doing the actual inspection. I have no idea what happened to him or his business. The only good thing was that I had not paid him any money yet, so he wasted my time and effort (a drive to the shore and back with my parents), but I didn't lose any money.
