Henry's Floor Sanding

They were in and out the first day in less than an hour and a half and then came for the fine sanding and second coat of polyurethane the next day and finished in an hour. The floor looks amazing and they were fast and professional. Very fair price for the job as well. Thanks for the great work, guys!!

If it was possible, I would give Henry and his crew A++++++'s My pitiful, old, and dirty carpets were an eysore thanks to having pets and grandkids over the years. I read all the glowing reports about Henry's Floor Sanding so gave him a call. He was polite, responsive, and came to my home within a few days to give me an estimate. Nothing looks nicer than refinished oak floors, so why cover them again with carpet? Within a few days of Henry's estimate, he arrived, 30 minutes early, and got right to work. He and his crew spent about 5 hours, the first day, getting up the old carpet, doing all the sanding, and putting down the 1st of the 3 coats of finish. When the 2nd coat was put down on day #2, the floor sparkled! Then with the 3rd coat down, it's just beyond words how great my house now looks! Henry and crew arrived early for the final sanding and finish coat. I thought there would be more dust, but it seems to be minimal. I took down all the wall hangings and wall coverings prior to his arrival to keep them clean and free of dust. I'm sure some cleaning will be in order but that's to be expected for this type of job. To give you an idea of Henry's professionalism, I noticed a board, against a wall, that was stained black by several cats thinking that area was their litter box. I was going to bring it up to Henry after his first visit. But, before I could, he was busily replacing the piece of bad wood with a new piece! I don't know of anyone who would do that without being asked or asking for additional money! Others have mentioned that he's done the same sort of thing for them, too. If all contractors were like Henry, this would be a very pleasant, wonderful world. Thank you Henry, and Angie's List, for helping my home look beautiful. I contacted Henry to do what seemed to me a big project. I bought a house with approximate 900 sq ft of hardwood floors really neglected over many years. When I first seen floors I had feeling that I need to replace most part of it (especially in living room), I glad I hired Henry to prove me otherwise. Living room floors had been heavily damaged over time with pet urine (when I pulled up carpet it's been literally soaking wet! and left part of room was under glue, half of floor been missing because of room leakage in past I believe. Other rooms had been not so badly damaged but still it's '56 floors. Henry sanded and refinished floors to perfection. He was very punctual when scheduling apointment and he actually delivered what I believed impossible (to perform this job in 3 days). They actually pulled up some wood and mixed it with new so nobody, I believe, can tell difference now. That was really good job! When it comes to floor under glue, it comes out that we need replace some of that floor. I appreciate honesty of Henry - he actually told me to come and look myself how floor look under staining and send me pictures, he didn't press me to sale some floors there (comes out that I need to buy new wood for $600 there) and that been really ok with be because I anticipated to spend more there because of floor condition. I respect him for honesty and hard job he done there. He and his team did a lot of work that hadn't been discussed - they removed carpet and lot of tackless strips and staples. Overall I don't think I can get better result there.

Henry did an amazing Job!!!! I am using them again and telling my friends to use them. Cant say enough good things about their service.

Absolutely wonderful. Henry is so nice and courteous. He was always prompt. Gave us an exceptional price and did an excellent job in just two days. Having been scammed by other flooring companies, I won't go anywhere else for my flooring needs. Henry is by far the best. We have hired him to do more of floors as well.

I purchased a home and needed the hardwood floors refinished, but was in a major hurry. I called Henry's and asked if they could do the job that week and...they did! The floors came out beautifully and they showed up when they said they would. They replaced a couple of boards and made them match as closely as possible. Overall, an excellent job for a very good price. Thanks for taking such good care of me!

After pulling up the carpets he noticed an extensive amount of water damage to floors. He helped us make a decision about stain colors, demonstrated what the colors will look like. He also repaired quite a bit of the flooring without charge. Great work, the floors look fabulous. I would highly recommend.

I chose Henry due to his honesty and choices listed in his invoice so we could choose to what extent we wanted the work to be done as it was itemized in a cost-conscious manner. He impressed me when others told us we had to replace our stairs, Henry said he could repair them and they came out beautifully!! And, when I asked if we had future concerns over them, he recommended that we use a carpenter to reinforce them, rather than trying to sell his services!

I asked Henry for a quote with two other recommended firms. His quote was the lowest, he always answered his phone, then did the work promptly and to our satisfaction.

Recently pulled up the carpeting on living room floor to discover we had hardwood. The former owners did not take precautions when painting, and there were splatters of paint all over the floor. Apparently, they didn't care because they put wall to wall carpeting over the floors. As a result, the floors needed to be refinished. What a beautiful job Henry's Floor and Sanding Company did. I would recommend them to anyone.

Went perfectly. Took 2 days. He showed up right on time both days and finished the work within the predicted timeframe and estimate.

Henry was great about calling to let me know any changes in his schedule and was very accommodating of mine. He came to check out my floor, which still had wall to wall carpet on it, pulled it up in a few areas, and gave me an estimate on the spot. He gave me a couple of options in terms of cost to change the color or just cleaning it up, buffing, and sealing. I pulled up the carpet and all the carpet tacks, which was an awful task, but for the low cost of refinishing the floor I was happy to do it. I found some unexpected water damage and was unsure of what would happen with the color if he was just buffing and sealing the floor, and I was going out of town and had to get a family member to be here with him. I was so happy to return home to see that the floor looked beautiful, there was no evidence of water damage, and the cost was exactly the same as the estimate. There were a few spots where the sealant partially went over the base moulding, but I'm going to replace all of it, so it was no big deal. All in all a great job, and I'll definitely call Henry again for more refinishing work.

He is always on top of things and is always nice. It was Henry who came out and appraised what needed to be done, did the work, and I dealt directly with him which was great. He is honest, straight-forward, prompt, punctual, and the job was done when he said it would be done.

Henry came out for a estimate a few weeks before he started work. My wife was there and said he was very nice and didn't try to upsell his services. We bought a house and wanted to have all the floors done, as we knew we didn't want to do them once we moved in. So we were prepared to sand/poly all 3 floors, about 2200 sq feet. Henry came in and said the first floor and stair he would sand, the second and third floors he said sanding wasn't needed, just a polish and some poly. So he met us at our house at 10:30am on Tuesday, 30min after we closed on the house. The floors were finished on Saturday for our move in. They look stunning, he even was able to match the color of the dining room floor with our newer floors in the kitchen.

I knew Henry was a professional when he came to give the estimate for the work. I got an estimate from one other floor refinishing agency and Henry was better by far in trustworthiness and cost. He did a beautiful job refinishing the old original floors and matched up damaged parts perfectly even when there was inlay that had to be replaced. I will be recommending him to friends and family members for sure. Henry was able to accommodate my tight schedule and begin work within only a week's notice on top of doing an outstanding and careful job refinishing my hardwood floors.

This was a great experience. Henry was the most thorough of the 3 people who came to give us an estimate. He obviously appreciates the beauty of hardwood floors and took time to express his admiration for ours. Work was done on time and the crew cleaned up nicely. We couldn't have been happier with the results and the process. We're using him again to do the remaining areas in our house (removing linoleum and refinishing floors in the dining room, entry way, last bedroom upstairs).

Henry was fantastic. He showed up on time everyday and was even willing to do the additional room at the same time as the master bedroom. He cleaned up well, put thresholds into every room he worked in and even put one into a room that he didn't. A very nice touch. He was professional and quick. We plan on using him again for our hallways very soon.

It was a very good experience. Henry was late on the first day by half an hour, but called to let me know this which I appreciated. He came back early on the second day to apply the second coat of finish. Overall a good experience and I would recommend him.

Overall, it went splendidly. Henry is very dedicated and hard working. He has two employees who assist him. I think we got our wires crossed regarding the appointment time for my estimate, as he was late as he lost track of time performing another job. But that was not a big deal in my case. Henry requested 50% of the money before he would begin work, and 50% upon completion. There was one board replaced that was not acceptable, and Henry remedied it immediately. Henry's crew cleaned up after themselves and left the trash in bags by the curb for collection. There was a pile of dried-up wood putty found on our front lawn, and a cigarette butt on the side of the house in the grass. But, considering what he charges, I was glad to clean this up. The floors are gorgeous -- sanded evenly with no dips, stained evenly -- and we are very grateful to this industrious young man and his crew.

The kitchen floor is two inches higher than the living room and dining room, which makes it difficult to maneuver around. I trip over the edge because my toe always catches it.

The rooms were sanded and refinished with a clear varnish. There were issues noted ahead of time in terms of stains and scratches, and others that arose after the sanding. They stopped and talked with us and agreed on a course of action. All things considered, we're happy with the end product.

They were excellent. They don't take away the trash but it is still worth it due to their professionalism and the quality of work preformed. My baseboards did get a little scuffed, which I had just painted, but again I was very satisfied with the work and would definitely use them again.

Excellent, no nonsense, efficient service. High quality precision work at a reasonable price. I experienced some trouble having them come out and provide an estimate (one last-minute reschedules on their part and a no-show), and as a result I almost went with another contractor, but I was glad I didn't do that. Also, they showed up to the job a bit later than they originally promised, although they called me the day before to let me know that. But these are all quibbles. I never saw such fast, efficient work. They got right down to business. They contained the sand well, and cleaned the bare wood thoroughly before applying the coating very smoothly. There was surprisingly minimal damage to the moulding (just a few paint touches needed here and there). Overall very pleased. My brother took a look at my floors and wants to hire them too.

He came over by himself and was polite and professional. He finished it in about an hour and a half. He brought the materials that needed to be used and he knew what he was doing.
