Henry's Floor Sanding

I got 5 quotes from different contractors. Henry was a clear winner based on price, punctuality, responsiveness and attitude! He was on-time with his crew. Answered all my question. Some of them I even didn't have to ask because he was on it already. He addressed all the little issues that we had during the project. Like I had a deep cut from carpenters knife that went across whole master bedroom!! Unfortunately it was in the spot where there will be no furniture and thus clearly visible. Believe it or not Henry did some magic and it is all gone!! The fix he did is not visible at all comparing to what there was before. He also worked on fixing other issues. Explaining things as we went trough the project. The best thing I liked about Henry is his easy to deal with attitude. So tired of hearing "No" or "It will cost you extra" form many contractors, that dealing with Henry was real pleasure. The only thing I didn't like is that he does only wood work ))) I wish he did tiles, kitchens, patios and wall painting!! But I guess that's why he is a professional! Would use again and recommend to everyone!

They were a really good company and the price blew me away. I am still looking at the floors and it still looks great. I would say that Henry’s Floor Sanding is a great deal. They took as long as I thought it would take him. He finished the floors inside the house; so it took 4 days for him to get all them laid down and for it to dry. That’s what happens when you get contracting work done in your house.

Henry was fast. I called him and he came on the same day or the next morning. He started work within a couple of days and got it done really fast. He did a great job and as far as the quality of the product, it's great.

He did an excellent job. We only had to leave the house for a couple of days while he was doing the job. When I got home I really liked the way it looked but he’d told that he would put three coats of polyurethane and it really didn’t look like it. I called him and talked to him about it. He then very graciously offered to come back and put an additional coat of polyurethane at no extra cost. It looks much better after that. I was very pleased with the final result. I would use their services again in the future.

Henry was very polite and professional on the phone and showed up exactly as scheduled to give us an estimate. He arrived on time for the day of work, and completed everything in one day. The floors look beautiful and we were very happy with the overall experience.

Floors look fantastic. He had fillin a a hole with putty and it fell through before it dried, but when I called him to fix it he came the same day. Great experience.

Henry's Floor Sanding took care of the second floor of our home a couple of weeks ago. Today he came over to inspect the work after the floors dried & gave us some ideas about a bathroom floor that has old water damage. He ALWAYS comes when he says that he will & is incredibly helpful. I can't imagine a better contractor experience.

Impressive! Henry and his team arrived promptly and went to work immediately. They worked 11 hours until the new floor was installed, stained and first coat of poly applied. There were no shortcuts taken to finish quickly. The installation was beautiful. Molding and another coat of poly were applied day 2 and the final coat of poly on the 3rd day. The floors are absolutely gorgeous! The attention to detail is obvious. Instead of simply laying a new floor, Henry crafted features into the floor, such as an accent at the front entrance, and framing around the fireplace hearth incorporated into the floor, which added beauty to the flooring. In areas where flooring was tucked under existing structures, such as at the steps and under kitchen cabinets, the installation was seemless. It looks like the floor was always there. Most impressive were the extra efforts he took, without charge, such installing new baseboards where I did not have them in the kitchen before installing the quarter-round and even cleaning the existing kickboards below the cabinets! It is rare to find someone who takes extra efforts nowadays. It is nice to know that there are still true craftsmen around. I highly recommend Henry and his team. They are terrific. A+

Henry came to my home and gave me a free estimate. My budget was limited and Henry was willing to work with me - I agreed to remove all the molding and pull out all the nails and move as much furniture as possible and he decreased the price. I live in Philadelphia. I was able to move small furniture up to the 2nd floor, but we couldn't get all living/dining furniture into the kitchen, and Henry's crew was willing to work around that. His crew arrived on time (maybe even a little early) on the agreed-upon day. We had to leave the house for several days while the floors dried. When I arrived home, the floors were finished and the crew had done a good clean-up job. I was a little bit disappointed with the finish - it didn't look like 3 coats. I called Henry and he agreed to come out the following week and apply an additional coat at no charge. Once that was done, I was really happy with the results. The floors were originally stained a dark color. Henry sanded that off and we left the floors natural under the polyurethane. The floors look beautiful and the rooms seem much lighter now. There is no trace whatsoever of the dark stain. I recommend Henry highly. Refinishing floors is an expensive process. I got several quotes and Henry's was the most reasonable and he was the only one willing to work with me to negotiate the price. He and his crew are the epitome of professional, and they were very pleasant.

We called Henry to get an estimate on refinishing our very old and horrible hardwood floors. They have been covered with carpet for over 20 years and filled with staples. He came out the day we called him and started work three days after. He and his crew sanded and stained our livingroom and hallway. He also put new molding around the whole area and built a threshold going into our kitchen and stained to match. The job took three days as they applied stain three times. They were always on time and worked quickly. We love it! I will be calling for additional work in the future.

I had Henry come in and take a look at my floor. It was and ugly old parquet, that was very beat up. I had already started tearing it up. He gave me an estimate to do the 300 sq. foot floor for 2.50 a square foot. He seemed very knowledgeable and he was professional. I purchased hardwood flooring materials on Washington Avenue in Philadelphia. The guys at this store told me they could install my floor for $1 a square foot! I was amazed. The wood came in the and the guy that was supposed to install it came over and started talking about putting in the flooring horizontally so that it wouldn't creak. He did not seem confident at all. I bought quality wood and I was worried it would not matter because he was going to do a bad job installing it. I called up Henry on Sunday EVENING @ 8pm!!! I wanted these floors done and I was sick of having all of the furniture in the kitchen of our row home. He told me he would start Monday morning and have the whole job, including baseboards, finished by the afternoon. He did the whole thing and charged me the 2.50 per sq. foot I was quoted a month before. The floor looks amazing!

When I told i wanted my hardwood floors done, i told him i wanted them to be darker. He gave me some options and I chose the darkest option. The job was across the whole house and they did not show up as dark as they showed. They ran out of stain and didn't get the next batch until an hour and a half later creating a line between the dining room and living room because the first batch dried. They were supposed to be done on a Monday and I wasn't able to move my furniture back in till Friday.

Even though we made the appointment three weeks in advance, he never showed up. Later that night he called, and said that he had completely forgotten that we had an appointment, and that he had never even written it down.

Did a great job, start to finish. Will use again!

We had to completely move out of the house, so we arranged for a time to meet & he was on time. His helper was already working on the floors while I was speaking to Henry. All repairs and sanding was done on the 1st day. Monday- The floors were already beautiful by Tues- The finish coat went on Weds We were able to come in to clean and paint Friday & move in Saturday. Henry did more than we asked for and never charged a penny more. The movers damaged the floor & Henry came back for a repair.

outstanding work. Henry and his crew were on time and budget. once the job was complete, we found a small area that needed to be redone. The didn't just do the little spot, they sanded and reapplied the finish the entire floor.

I am extremely pleased with the project. Henry was very responsive to my call, coming out on a Saturday to talk to me and work up an estimate. He showed up on time as promised and got right to work. The job was completed efficiently and exactly per the time line he promised. He took the time to make some small repairs and remove a few squeaks to assure that my floors came out great. I will definitely have him come back to refinish my first floor.

Called Henry on Wednesday morning he came over at 1.00pm gave me the estimate and said they could start right away. Covered electrics with plastic and sealed off half the kitchen where they were working.They were here for couple of hours then said they would be back the next day to finish the job. After they left there was no dust on the usable side of the kitchen which was amazing and great. Of course the smell was strong, as you would expect so if your doing this you might want to book in to a hotel for a couple of nights!! They came back early the next day came straight in, finished in half an hour. The floor looks fantastic we had thought of replacing it but glad we didn't it looks like new now. Henry and his team were very polite and made me feel completely comfortable. Their work is fantastic still keep going over to admire the floor. Would certainly use them again and recommend them highly.

He responded immediately to phone calls, and his initial consult was thorough. He was fairly priced. The work was excellent. I could not have asked for better. I have recommended him to other people. I would rate him highly and would use him again in the future if necessary.

Their prices were very good. We are buying a double property so we asked how much it would cost to do one of the houses and then how much for both houses. He gave us a discount if we did both of them. It was more than a $500 discount if we did both. He didn't make us wait. He asked us questions and then he went through and evaluated everything. Then he sat down and wrote up a detailed estimate on the spot, which was cool. By the end of the interaction we had all our questions answered and then we had a sheet with everything detailed and he went over it and asked if we had any questions. We had everything right then and didn't have to wait to get the information, which was nice. He was reliable, knowledgeable and had good prices. Even our realtor thought his prices were good and she took one of his cards because she deals with this all the time. We would definitely consider using him.

I have used Henry many times previously. He is the only hardwood person I feel I need to call. Again, he came through. This work needed to be done while my family was away, as it involved our stairs going up to the bedrooms. I told Henry when we'd be away, he fit the job into his schedule accordingly. As always, the floors look outstanding, and the price was fair and reasonable. There was an area at the bottom of the step where a tile installer did not remove carpeting on the stairs so that tile would abut the stairs, creating a space and a small problem for Henry. No problem for Henry! He went to Home Depot and looked around for an hour to find something to fill the space. Not being able to find something suitable, he made his own molding to fit over the space. Looks great and not additional charge to me. This type of extra effort is what I've come to expect and depend on from Henry. He's exceptionally honest, fair, and meticulous in his work. The best.

They are prompt, hardworking, affordable, and produce excellent results! In fact, a plumber was recently in our house and asked for the name of our floor person because he was so impressed with the quality of the finish. We are going to have Henry back to refinish the rest of our house in the Spring.

Henry answered all calls very promptly. He was on time to all appointments. He gave us a written estimate and reviewed various options with us at our first meeting. Our floors look amazing! He did such a great job matching the stain on the repair points that you can't tell where the spots were. I don't know how they did it, but they got into/under all the nooks such as the space under the radiators. They completed the work in exactly the time frame they laid out at our first meeting. We will definitely be using them again to redo our 3rd floor.

Called Henry and he made an appt to come out to estimate. He came on a Wed night and started work on Sat, finished on Monday. Sanded, repaired and applied three coats of poly. The floors look great. The only thing I'd recommend anyone do is cover up the floors in any rooms surrounding the work being done. The workers got some poly on the kitchen laminate simply because of the layout of the house there was no where else to go when they couldn't walk on the floors. Didn't think of it till later but it's ok in this case because the kitchen floors are being replaced. They did a great job, quality work, did everything they said they would do and most of the repairs resulted in no extra charges.
