Henry's Floor Sanding

Henry's Floor Sanding arrived around 9am to begin this job. Henry's team did not waste a minute. They were able to finish the whole job in surprisingly little time (about 5.5 hours). Quarter round moldings were added, then they cleaned up and gave some recommendations on how to care for the new floor. Before leaving, a second coat of poly was applied on the stairs (steps) which they had sanded and stained a couple days before when they delivered the flooring stock. One of the best contractor experiences I've ever had.

We used Henry's Floor Sanding in May 2012 before we moved into our new house. We had originally thought we only wanted to refinish the first floor, but his quote was so good (more competive than others we had received and he could finish the job sooner) that we went ahead and did the rest of the house at the same time. The floors had significant scratches and some staining, and after Henry's team refinished them, you can't even tell that there was ever any damage. They look fantastic!

Henry did an excellent job with our floors. He and his team arrived promptly, sanded and stained the floors. The following day they came back and applied a clear coat. The floor looks beautiful. We will definitely use Henry's company in the future.

Henry's quote was less than the others we had received, so that fact along with all the positive reviews made us go with him. We are very pleased with how the floors turned out and we were equally as pleased with how he kept to the promised schedule.

My wife's uncle let Henry and his crew into the house. He honored our Angie's List coupon and the final price was $950, after the discount from the $1000 he quoted. The floors are magnificent and very close to the color of the floors that were already done. The previous owners had done the bedrooms and living room, but Henry came to do our 2.5 stairways (42 steps), and the landings on the 2nd and 3rd floors. They look terrific! Also, his quote was $900 less than a competitor's, he has great reviews, and he quoted the time exactly (on the 14th they took about 3 or so hours, and the next 2 days they came to put on the coats of polyurethane.

My husband and I both were hugely impressed by Henry and his work, but we've since had many "don't take my word for it" moments. *Everyone* who has set foot in this house has commented on the floors. Our families were very impressed (as was our neighbor), but what's more, every contractor that's been in here has mentioned how nice the floors look -- including our movers, the HVAC people, and even a company that does floors themselves. (Even the head of the company sought me out to say how great they looked.) The woman from whom we bought salvaged wood (the stuff that Henry used to patch damaged parts) was so impressed that she printed out a photo of the refinished floor to hang on the wall of her shop. It's that nice. I wish that Angie's list allowed photographs, but in the meantime, my words will have to suffice! Also, I noticed that someone gave Henry a negative review because he said he was busy. That seems like a strange reason to criticize someone (he *is* busy!) but I wanted to affirm that despite the fact that he's got a lot of work, Henry is extremely responsive and has never failed to get back to us quickly. We couldn't recommend him more highly.

Henry's work was exceptional. We continue to be amazed at how beautiful the floors look. There were two water-damaged spots on the floor and after Henry finished, they look as good as new, identical to the rest of the floor. He also did an amazing job blending in the newly done floors with the back bedroom. It is seamless. Henry's price was $100 more than another estimate, but he was very honest about his cost and knew the work of the others that we had contacted. That gave us confidence in his work and it paid off. We would recommend Henry in a heartbeat.

This is a long overdue report for work Henry did back in December. We really couldn't have been happier with Henry and his crew! Our floors were in pretty bad shape; some had old linoleum that needed to be ripped up and there were a few holes here and there (it's an old house). Henry came in and did even more than we expected. For example, the landings of our stairs were covered in plywood. Henry installed new wood flooring over these and the results were better than we could have imagined. And his timing was right on. He estimated that it would take a week to complete and it took exactly that. Overall Henry was professional, reliable, and genuinely a super nice guy. We can't recommend him enough!

His name is Henry Nguyen. He was great and he basically said the same thing as another company. He had some different recommendations based on our budget. I feel like both companies could do the job pretty well. He got the estimate to me right away.

It really went great. Henry was very communicative and helpful and did beautiful work. The only issue was that they were supposed to be finished on a Wednesday, but couldn't be finished until Friday. They said it was because of humidity in the air. Still, I highly recommend.

Excellent job! The work was professional and the floors looked beautiful. Their attention to detail was perfect. They cleaned up nicely after themselves (only forgot to put the screens back in the windows). They neatly wrapped up the old carpet and hauled it up to the curb for the trash collector. They were in and out in the timeframe they stated, even though they drove over an hour to do this job. The price was the exact amount we agreed upon. I would definitely recommend Henry and his team to anyone wanting new hardwood floors installed.

Our floors were in pretty rough shape. The first floor had some warping and various rooms had been sanded previously, but had been done very crudely, sanding against the grain and leaving the middle of the floor undone. Henry and his crew did a great job. The floors look wonderful. Henry was very responsive - always calling back promptly to answer questions when we were considering who to go with and then once we had him scheduled as well. His crew worked amazingly fast and finished the house in 3 days (although we had to leave it empty for a fourth day for drying). They also did a great job cleaning up after themselves - floor refinishing creates a ton of dust and dirt, but we were really impressed how clean it was when they left. There was, of course, additional cleaning to be done, but none more than was expected. The only thing I would have liked to have been done differently would be the color of the wood filler used in a few of the rooms. It was fine in color for the oak floors, but for the pine floors, it probably could have been a bit darker.

Henry and his crew always arrived early and worked fast and hard the entire time they were there. I was a little hesitant about the color choice, but it turned out beautifully.

Fantastic quick process from start to finish

Henry & co. did an excellent job refinishing our hardwood kitchen floor. They were punctual, carefully cordoned off the room with plastic so that dust did not travel beyond the kitchen, and mixed a little stain into the finish at my request for no additional charge. Henry also replaced a couple floor boards that were damaged by the previous' owner's diy attempt, and the floor now looks as if it had never been damaged. Highly recommend.

They were very prompt and very professional. The work was excellent; it was very good. I think it was about $3,000.

This is our first home, which we took posession of 2.5 weeks ago. Refinishing our floor was one of the first things we wanted to do, so we ripped up the carpeting / pulled the staples and called Henry to get a quote. We were completely green, so we had lots of questions. We only dealt with Henry, such a relief that the person answering our questions had a vested interest in our happiness. We had a couple of rotten boards that replacement was accounted for in our price and he provided a clear breakdown in materials so we knew how he arrived at the proposed estimate. HIs schedule also made it easy for us to use our bathroom before work (we only have one and it is on the second floor), so he helped us avoid any panic of how we would get ready for work in the mornings. We did have one oops. They were conscience in covering many pieces of our furniture with plastic. There was about 5' of open space in front of our newly reupholstered chair, so I was fine that it wasn't covered. However, the chair got a stain during the first day. Things like this happen and we should have been more mindful to cover it. His workers seemed very careful when working around our belongings and took many precautions to trap the sanding dust and cleaned up after themselves well. But it was a situation that was going to make or break our business exchange... Henry handled this incredibly professionally and my husband and I appreciated his graciousness in an uncomfortable situation. Because of his demeanor, we feel completely comfortable to recommend his company. We've had a plumber and another contractor in since they did the refinishing and everyone has raved about how great our floors look. Henry also stained our pine stairs to match our oak floors and he did so perfectly. I've read that Pine can be tempermental in not staining evenly and they did an awesome job. We are incredibly thrilled with Henry as a business person and the work of he and his crew! Thanks!

Job turned out perfect. Glad I didn't try to do it myself. Well worth the cost. The finish really looks professional. Be prepared to stay away while the work is on going.

We were extremely satisfied with Henry's Flooring. He did what he was supposed to do and on time. Very punctual each day. He is very competent. He even made some minor floor repairs for no extra charge. Area was cleaned up after each day's work. I would definitely recommend Henry.

Overall it was a great experience. I would highly recommend him to family and friends in the future since he did a great job at a very reasonable price.
