Henry's Floor Sanding

He's a great guy, but the unfortunate thing that happened was he used the wrong tools on a specific type of wood that we bought and I think he did not know that. He had never used this type of wood and didn't do the research on it. That's the only compliant I have, but they were very hard working and did what they said they would do. I would just recommend that people do a little research about what they're getting before they accept the work for it. It was very simple and the price was good and the quality of the work was good.

Henry did an excellent job, the floors are beautiful, and we were very happy with his work. He takes a lot of pride in the quality of his work and his company, and it shows. He and his crew were left unsupervised and let themselves in and out of our home during the workday, and he was very trustworthy. We received other estimates prior to choosing Henry's company, he was below other estimates for the same work and had excellent ratings from this site so we decided to go with him. In addition, we liked that he was punctual when providing the estimate, and he had an easy demeanor. He kept us updated for any unforeseen things. He communicated well any issues that he thought may come up. Overall, we were very happy with his work, and would highly recommend him.

He showed up late, stayed late and the house absolutely reeked so badly it was hard to breath. Don't refinish floors if you can't open windows. The sanding debris, stain and laquer dripped through the floor onto things in the basement. If I'd known this would happen I would have covered things. Nail heads weren't treated so there are nice, shiny nail heads visible. The clean-up was immense. Floors to ceilings had to be washed, basement taken apart and cleaned, it took longer to clean up the mess than it did to do the job. I got the feeling I was a "filler" job while he was doing other work. He didn't show up until mid afternoon and worked to 7 pm. Not my idea of a workday but I get it. The floor came up nice, except for the clearly visible nailheads but I guess that's normal? Other than that, it was great, lol

Recently bought an old house where the time had come to get the floors refinished. Based on previous reviews for Henry's Floor Sanding reached out to him, and couldn't be happier that I did. Henry was very responsive (wish I could say the same for some groups). Easily scheduled a walk-through with him, and Henry arrived right on time. He took a look, explained what he would do (plus the "after effects" such as the need most of the time to touch up all the baseboard trim), what he might not be able to do (get out some stains from pet urine that had not been cleaned up properly) but would try to, quoted out the project a few different ways, and then was very helpful in working with us both on our scheduling and some requirements we had. Now having seen the work completed, it looks beautiful. Henry did a fantastic job. The floors look great. The baseboards do need to be touched up, but frankly far less than I expected. Plus, Henry started and finished right within the time frames that he said he would. Truly cannot think of anything that Henry could have done to make the experience any better. Highly recommend him.

They were very professional and there was no hassle. They left some peepholes in my stairs that I have been removing myself but for the price it seems worth it. Their cleanup was great and they were easy to make an appointment with. It is very beautiful; those peepholes are my only complaint. They were responsive and got in touch in time. They were very punctual; in fact they were early.

Henry was great. He came on time to get us a quote, and when we agree to move forward, he came on the schedule date, did superior work, cleaned up, and moved on. The kind of contractor you dream about. Top notch.

Henry was very prompt in returning phone calls and completing the work exactly as asked.

I called Henry for a consultation appointment. He responded the same day and came to see my new place the following weekend. Henry clearly understood what I wanted. He suggested to install natural oak and also suggested not to spend extra money for the steps of the stairs: he explained that the wood of the steps under the carpet was solid and of good quality, and that he would sand and varnish it in the same shade as the newly installed natural oak. He promised to finish the project in one day. He needed to take the old carpet in two bedrooms and on the stairs and install the new hardwood floor. Henry and his crew came as promised, in the morning, with the material ready to be installed. They all worked hard and by the end of the day, Henry walked me through the stairs and to the second floor, before leaving. The result was excellent. Not only everything was nice and clean, but the floorboards had been beautifully installed, following the very same pattern from the landing area outside the bedrooms to the actual rooms. Moreover, the sanding and varnish of the steps were blending seamlessly with the new wood floor. He did a wonderful job and I am very happy. All my friends visiting my place compliment me for the beauty of the floor. Henry is not exactly inexpensive, but his service is very well worth all the money. He is punctual, he understands what a customer wants, and he does a wonderful job. I would most definitely hire him again.

Great job, they made sure it was perfect before the job was completed. Very nice to have a contractor who really cares about the product they produce.

Did an excellent job. Even made minir repairs without charging. did what he said he was going to do and did it on time! Can't ask for more than that.

Called Henry after searching on Angie's List and he responded the same day. Came out a few days later and we booked the job. I did have to wait almost a month for them to come but so worth it!!

We were exploring various contractors to complete specifics task in our overall kitchen remodel. Henry's Flooring promotely responded to our inquiry for an on-site quote, and arrvied at our house on time. He provided a detailed estimate, in which the priced seemed fair. In the end, we hired a general contractor who was able to complete this work under his contract with us.

Henry was unavailable when I was looking to install my floors in July. He did follow up with me a few months later when he was available. Although I already had the service done, I appreciated the honesty around his busy schedule and the follow up.

Overall we were not super impressed. Based on the prior reviews we expected a better result. Henry was very flexible about gettin our job scheduled and the price was very reasonable. However Henry left one really awful looking board in the floors he refinished that should have been replaced. It is right in the middle of my master bedroom. He spent a lot of time adding wood putty and he should have had the judgement to just remove it. In addition - the new hardwood floor had problems with the varnish - it didn't dry right. Most of it looks ok - but there are areas where the finish is imperfect. I would say spend a little bit more and get it done perfectly -but if you are on a budget and want an OK job - this company is fine.

Henry and his crew were on time to start this project. They stayed nearly 12 hours on day 1 to sand, repair and stain all of the floors in my house. (about 1400 Square Feet) The entire job took 4 days, an extra day because my floors had so many nails and staples in them from the carpet that was previously there. They did a nice job cleaning up, there was just the expected dust and some stain on the baseboards, which we planned on painting after this job was done anyway. Henry was always there to answer questions, if he did not pick up his phone when I called he always called back in a very short amount of time. I would highly recommend Henry and his crew.

Henry was prompt and professional throughout the entire process from the estimate to completion of the work. He is very busy, and deservedly so - he does beautiful work! Our floors turned out wonderful and I have no complaints. There was some paint touch up needed on the bottom molding, but that was fully expected. His price was actually the lowest of the three estimates we got. Henry was also very accomodating when the recent storm/power outage forced us to move our start date. I had no communication issues either - Henry speaks English very well. Overall, we had a great experience.

I do not think Henry takes criticism easily. He wasn't very happy when I told him that this was a very sloppy job and would need more then retouching and but he kept on saying I told you that you need to retouch. Almost all the walls and the wood work needed to be repainted.

It went well. They showed up on time (most days) and work until the job was complete. They were very clean and easy to work with.

Very quick response when I contacted him through Angie's List. I provided room dimensions by email so I received a quick estimate of $1600.00 and three days of work for carpet removal and hardwood refinishing on a one level house. The wood floors in this newly purchased house were covered in carpets so I was unsure of the condition. When work began we discovered significant damage to the wood floors in one bedroom so I elected to install new wood floors in that one room, increasing the price of the work. Henry used some salvageable planks from the original floor in that bedroom to do repairs throughout the rest of the house. The results are beautiful. Great communication and 3 day time estimate was right on.

Easy to schedule, gave quick quote, showed up on time, did work quickly with amazing results. Clean up not perfect, but sanding wood floors leaves sawdust in every single nook and cranny- compared to other jobs I've seen, they did a pretty thorough job.

Went great, he was a little backed up so wasn't always on time, or day, but did a beautiful job and I think for a great price considering how much work it was.

This guy is good! Henry came in to sand and refinish the hardwood floors that had be covered by carpet in a recently purchased home. Everything was exceptional from start to finish, the floors look gorgeous!

We were out of town when the work was done, but had family who live close by stopping by to oversee things. No problems were reported. The job was done when he said it would be done. Of course a job of this kind is VERY messy and leaves dust everywhere. Not sure there was much they could have done to minimize that more than they did and they did an adequate job of cleaning up.

He did respond. His quote was almost the same as the company we did go with. The only reason I went with the other company was because I knew someone who had used that company.

Just a couple days and done. Very responsive.
