Multiple leaks found within 5 months of install. First there was a pinhole leak in the condenser coil and all the refrigerant slowly leaked out until the house couldn't cool. A month later we encountered a similar problem where the house couldn't reach the set point again. We thought it was just that the AC couldn't keep up since it's been 100 º out, but then when the house couldn't cool under 78 º in the middle of the night when it's cooler outside we knew there was a problem. We called and turns out there was another pinhole leak that burst from the heat and again drained all the refrigerant. Again, our install was 5 months ago. They are responsive and have responded quickly, but obviously they did a poor job with the install. Would not do business with them again nor recommend them to friends/family.

We used ALLIED since we purchase our home over 3 years ago because their information was on our HVAC system. On our first call we wanted to take a look at the system and make sure everything was up to par and let us know if anything needed attention. Allied sent us John Martin and he took the time not only to explain what kind of HVAC system we have but also to show me how it all worked. From the thermostat settings to the blower speed, to the heat_pump triggers;. everything! He checked all the connections and settings, told us what they were, what do they mean, and asked if we wanted to change anything. From the thermostat settings to the blower speed, to the heat_pump triggerst. everything. John was very patient listening and answering all my new-homeowner questions. We have been using them since, and always try to request John Martin to service our HVAC. He is knowledgeable and doesn't mind been asked a ton of questions.

The original install went fairly well. The system did in fact save me money on my bills. Where they truly went wrong is with the service aspect. You must work really **** ** your end to get them out to fix a problem under Warranty. I have not had working heat for a month and a half during winter time. The most recent tech visit, was a no show and never called. This company clearly only cares about the initial install and not backing up their work when it's under warranty.

Allied completed the work on my house in Jan. 2020. I was pleased with the work they had done. I awoke to the sound of gushing water around 11:15 p.m. Water was coming from the shark bite value, which connects the water heater to the water source. The water heater is in the laundry closet outside my bedroom. There was water everywhere: in the laundry room, seeping under the hardwood floor in the hallway, and under the wall into the hall bath. I shut off the water and had a lot of water to clean up. The next day they came and fixed the valve, which had not been properly installed. In mid April the exact same thing happened again at about the same time. I had no water for 17 hours waiting for the repairman. Same problem. This time the valve was replaced. I'm lucky I was home and am a light sleeper. if I had been out of the house, away, or was a heavy sleeper, my house would have been flooded. Everything would have been ruined. On July 10, 2020 we had a tropical storm. The ceiling over the hot water heater was leaking. Water was running down the PVC pipe that Allied had installed from the heater to the roof to vent the carbon monoxide gas. The repairman came out and tried to stop the leak with silicone, etc. and do what he could since it was raining too hard for him to go on the roof. I was scheduled for a repairman two weeks later on the 23rd. The pipe continued to leak during every thunderstorm or shower. The repairman go behind and couldn't make it on the repair date. I had to wait two more weeks for my next appointment (Aug. 7). It would be four weeks between the leak and repair. There was another storm on Aug. 4 in addition to numerous thunderstorms. The repairman came on the 7th and determined that the boot on the roof had been cut to 3 inches, but the exhaust pipe used was only 2 inches. No wonder it leaked. The audit, attic sealing, and insulation all seem to be well done. However, I cannot recommend this company to anyone who needs a new hot water heater. I would rate the insulation an "A" and the water heater an "F". I averaged the two together to give an overall rating of "C".
Description of Work: Allied was listed on the South Jersey Gas website as a company that does energy audits. I bought a home in summer of 2019 and wanted to lower my utility bills. They completed an audit, sealed my attic, and add more insulation. They also installed a high efficiency hot water heater.

We purchased a “fixer-upper” and gutted it to the studs. We’ve been trying to do at least some of the work ourselves, so it’s been a crazy process. Allied’s scope-of-work with us included the following: (1) the insulation of the entire house; (2) the installation of a ductless Mitsubishi mini-split heat-pump system that included two outdoor condensers (a 2-1/2 ton and a 3 ton) and seven indoor wall-mounted units (from 6k to 18k BTU); and (3) the installation of a Weil-McLain modulating / condensing boiler with indirect domestic hot water tank, including all of the piping tying the boiler into staple-up hydronic radiant circuits and hydronic baseboards that we installed ourselves. Including the rebate and loan from the NJ Clean Energy Program, the price for Allied’s work was north of $30,000. Even thoroughly taking-into-account some hiccups and miscommunications---some of them completely our fault, some of them for which Allied bears a bit of blame---in other words, “warts-and-all”---I would zealously and wholeheartedly recommend Allied to anyone considering any HVAC or home weatherization services. It’s been our experience in renovating our house that finding good, trustworthy contractors who do topnotch, quality work commonly boils down to one simple question: Do they do what they said they were going to do? From simple things like arriving to appointments when they said they would, to installing products that they stand-by using trained professionals who will be back to work through any issues if they arise, this company has always done what they said they were going to do. Simple, but not always common these days. Tl;dr In the beginning, there was Mark W., who introduced us to the company, and John K., who was one of the most knowledgeable and articulate “salesmen” we’ve ever met. (That term is in no way meant to belittle the technical knowledge and honesty with which John conducted himself, but it is to acknowledge how amazingly he’s able to combine that knowledge with his strong interpersonal skills to educate consumers and demonstrate how his company can serve their interests well.) John was able to concretely break-down the various advantages/disadvantages of different approaches, and in conjunction with Jose D. (who headed their weatherization department) and Bill P. (who headed their mechanicals department), devise a package that provided us with state-of-the-art systems at cost-effective prices. Allied’s back-office services, including its financing and project management staff, were no less competent, diligent, and patient with us---especially as we had a couple issues crop-up on our end during the process. Specifically, Heather K. and Tiffany H. were both wonderful to work with. But where this company particularly shines is its boots-on-the-ground. The front-line technicians who installed our (slightly complicated) mechanical systems, beginning with their boss Bill P., and specifically including Nick and Irv (who worked on the boiler and mini-splits) were skilled, knowledgeable, and professional at every step. Bill, particularly, was incredibly responsive and accommodating with the initial install, and always had his staff out to address any issues as soon as possible when a couple minor things bubbled-up. Nick and Irv used their considerable experience and technical know-how to install our systems well, and in a timely fashion. Allied has been an amazing company to work with. And I very much hope that they continue to grow so that they’re able to provide their exceptional services to as many families as possible.

The whole process was great until after the install was done and we realized there were two issues that needed to be addressed. We had to chase after the company (multiple emails and phone calls to many different people) to get them to come correct the first issue, which again was done well (the people who do the actual work are professional, courteous and skilled). After fixing the first issue, the electrician said they'd have to come back and re-lay the insulation. We waited a week, didn't hear from them. Sent an email after a week, no reply. We are now going on 2.5 weeks, after the electrician said they would contact us in a few days, without even an acknowledgement to our email. We understand completely if they are busy and can't do the work yet, but at least acknowledge that you know there is still work to be done. That's all we expect, and maybe without us having to call and email them multiple times to get even the slightest response. They had no issue sending us multiple emails and calling us prior to the work being done, but be aware that if you have any type of issue after the onus will be on you to chase them down to get it fixed. In the meantime, we have received several emails from them asking us to recommend them and to also schedule follow up service visits for our heating system (which they didn't install) but no acknowledgement that an issue still exists with their installation. It's a shame because the people who do the work are great, but with such poor followup resolution we will no longer recommend them.

Great. Guys did an excellent job, professional, courteous, just the best. One MINOR problem later, upper management was cooperative and the gentleman sent out to correct the issue nailed it. Exhaust pipe they added a screen to to keep critters out, was a little too restricted by silicone glue used to hold screen in place. This guy fixed it by removing the silicon and using instead a screw on the outside of the pipe. Perfect!

They were very extremely professional, came right on time, worked all day. Anything they moved or had to take down (shelving) they put everything back exactly the way they found it. Would definitely use them / recommend them to others.

Allied was very easy to work with and the whole process went very smoothly. I'm waiting to see my PSE&G bills go down before I really know how effective this work was. Description of Work: Air sealed and insulated my attic, installed high efficiency heater, air conditioner, & water heater. It is refreshing to find a company that is not like your traditional HVAC company. Allied came to my home and performed a thorough home energy inspection and returned the following week with the results and rebates from the program. They are more interested in the whole home approach and not just replacing or upgrading your equipment. They followed through on their word and there were no hidden surprises.

Description of Work: The salesman (auditor?) surveyed the property and made an appointment to return with the results of the survey at 5:00pm on 2/23/16. At 5:30pm someone who represented himself as Allied called and said that the auditor was running about 15 mins. late but would be there. We waited for an additional hour but the auditor did not show nor did he call. The following evening, another representative arrived at our house at about 7:00pm and asked if "Dan" had made an appointment with us for that night. He explained that Dan had been fired that morning. I told him it didn't matter because the appointment was for the night before and while someone had called last night but no one had contacted us today. I told him that I had no confidence in Allied and under the circumstances was not interested in doing business with them.

The air condition stopped working after one week using after installation. The temperature outside is over 90 F, we called company since everything is still in warranty, we were told that they are able to send people over in 5 days. Be on such kind of hot weather, we can get service after 5 days, plus the new installation is only working for a week or so. Who is going to trust and use this company? The problem is not only the quality of the job, but the attitude of how company servers customer after company's problem is reported. Do you still want to use this company?

I contracted Allied Construction LLC through New Jersey Natural GAS to perform work through the "The Savegreen Program". This program is a federally funded program administered through the New Jersey Natural Gas Co in which old residential Air Conditioning / furnace units are replaced for new high efficiency units. This was the worst Installation Job you can imagine. Two letters were written to the company about the poor workmanship. Contact with federal agencies regarding the illegal discharge of Freon by Allied Construction workers was reported. Contact with NJNG regarding the issues has also been reported. Below are bullet points of the problems I had. there is not enough room in the box to give all the details: - Did not bring their own tools to the site. Utilized mine then argued with me on who's tools they were. - Over 50 screws found in my driveway. they did not clean up after themselves - Water leak through the roof. They placed a flat piece of tin on the roof for the vent pipe to go through. - Purposely did not install the sump pump correctly and caused my Laundry room to flood. Yes Purposely. - Two (2) Natural Gas Leaks because they did my use pipe dope (sealant) on the black gas pipes during the install - Had to re-pipe venting for the Furnace and Water Heater three (3) times. Each time vinyl siding and other repairs had to be made. They could not get it right. - Had to return 3 times to properly insulate the attic. - Attached the electrical line to the gas line against Construction Code - Installed a clothes dryer vent improperly causing a fire hazard. Never used the clamps during install. I have dryer lint all over the rear of the dryer. - Accidentally cut my speaker wires and never told me - Attempted to replace my white vinyl siding with beige siding and tell me that is the only color they had. - Failed inspection for plumbing. Improperly had the discharge pipe exiting the house. - Failed the inspection by Rheem representatives for the work performed. Rheem is the company that makes the furnace and A/C unit. They sent reps out from their company to do an inspection on the work and the work failed their inspection. This is the cliff notes of the two (2) letters, three pages a piece regarding the poor work completed at my house. Feel Free to contact me for further details.

It went extremely well. After they did the initial audit, they anticipated 30% or more savings on my electric bill and they delivered. My electric bills for June and July were dramatically down (on the graphs on the electric bill, you can see usage is more than 30% lower compared with same months last year), while our house was much more comfortable. Our 17 year old equipment was replaced with high performing current state technology. The process was painless. They worked with the state to get $5,000 rebate as part of the NJ Energy Star program. Basically, this allows a $15,000 job to cost us $10,000. Their normal program/business model involves a 10 year loan, but we paid cash upfront instead. We tried to negotiate based on time value of money, but in their business model, they are not the recipients of that benefit (they get cash upfront from the lender and the interest on the loan is paid by the state), so that did not work. That aside, we felt $10,000 was a great deal for everything we were getting in this project. The Allied representative told us it would take 1 to 2 days. They arrived on time at 8 am and got the installation done in one day, leaving by 4 pm. A crew of 6 or 7 men showed up (3 insulators and the rest HVAC installers). They were all very professional and polite and left the house as neat as it was before they started. The dryer was sticking out a bit too much after they replaced the vent duct with rigid venting, so I pushed it back and messed up the connection. When we used the dryer, the moist air escaped into the room. I called them and told them what happened. They came right back out and reconnected it much more securely, apologized profusely, and when I told them I planned on replacing the flooring soon for aesthetic reasons, they also offered to come back and reconnect the dryer any time I wanted. Two township inspectors came to inspect the work - one for HVAC, the other for insulation and everything passed with flying colors. Great job, Allied! So glad you knocked on my door when I was looking to replace my air conditioning.
Description of Work: Allied replaced HVAC and water heater, added many inches of blown insulation to the attic, replaced dryer vent duct with rigid duct, added carbon monoxide monitoring, and succeeded overall in making my home much more energy efficient.

After showing up very early for a scheduled appointment and leaving well before I got home they left me with more questions than I had beforehand. My wife tried unsuccessfully to explain the technical details and the salesman tried to cover the entire first appointment with a 5 minute sales pitch during a follow up appointment. I was not at all impressed with the punctuality, professionalism, or the team of seemingly very inexperienced sales personnel they sent to my home.

Everything was very smooth from start to finish. No problems at all!
Description of Work: Replaced heaters, air conditioners, and water heater with new high efficiency Rheem units and insulated attic. Work was completed in two days; they told us it could take 3 or 4 days. We were very happy about that! Very professional, well trained and friendly tradesmen. Great care was taken to work clean. All carpets were covered and all areas were cleaned up after work was done. Trades worked well together and we are very happy with every aspect of the job. I highly recommend Allied Construction and will definately use them again.
