I called to set up an appointment to get an estimate. I was told someone would get back to me with a date and time. No one did. However, a representative did show up unannounced two days later and I showed him the work anyway. While on site he said that someone else may come back out. Almost a week later no one has come back out and no one has returned my calls. Obviously, I haven't received a quote. Not professional at all.

Novalis came and did a roof repair job, which in fairness they did say they weren't positive it would work. It did not work. I still have water running down the side of the house when it rains, which is seeping through and damaging the sheetrock. i have called and left 2 messages for Novalis to discuss the work that was done and what can possibly be done to fix the problem. They haven't returned my calls. Problem still exists.

The initial proposal and work was done in 2016. At the time - the roofer decided that the flashing and protective barrier was fine and didn't need to be replaced. The roof and venting system were installed and everything worked fine until Jan 2018 - when the flashing/protective barrier in the afore mentioned area failed and water came pouring into the family room. We contacted Novalis and they sent someone out to look within 2 days and determined that area needed to be repaired and the flashing and protective barrier replaced. They gave us a very competitive deal to fix it - at virtually no profit to them and we are satisfied that they did the best they could for us. The (new) family owner was very responsive, professional, and we feel - fair, given the circumstances. The repair work was done promptly - before another big predicted storm.

It went very well. David Novalis was easy to reach and he kept me informed on what was happening at all times. His crew showed up on time and completed the job in two days to my satisfaction.

When the person, who I can only imagine was the owner of the company called me back, I explained that I was looking for an estimate and asked if he was available on June 15th to come and look at the roof. I explained I was taking the day off to meet with several other companies and gain an estimate and his response was, and I quote, " WELL WHY DON'T YOU JUST FOCUS ON THEM THEN." My response was, "well if that is the way you want to approach it" and he hung up." How can a professional in this day in age get offended by me wanting to get several quotes on a job and treat a potential customer that way. I do not know his work or his pricing. Since most of them do not want to come out on a weekend, I have to take a day off from work to meet with them, therefore I feel they should work around my schedule and not theirs if they want my business. But this says a lot about the professionalism of Novalis Roofing Co. along with their character. Any Business owner that does not respect that a customer wants to shop around for the best work at a fair price and not even willing to bid on a job is a company that I will never deal with and one that I feel you should not either. Novalis gets an F in the first minute of conversation. First impressions are everything. Novalis FAILED

My house is over two hundred years old and the crew took great pains to remove the old shingles and repair several sections where the plywood had rotted. Dave Novalis really helped choose the best color to match the look of the house and new paint colors. The job had to be done over two weeks because of snows but they worked in sections to be able to complete areas before the several snow falls. All the shrubs near the house remained well protected and had zero damage. In March, after all the snow had melted, the crew showed up one day to inspect the roof and the property to insure a thorough cleanup -- we had so much snow on the ground this winter that some few scraps had remained. A perfect job and a very satisfied customer. I always got a call prior to the crew showing up or, if a snow was coming, to inform me that they would not be coming the next day. They never disturbed us throughout the entire process. Hardworking and quality guys. Big Jim, the foreman, did an excellent job of copper flashings around old brick chimney, too.

Great job. fabricated gutters perfectly, very helpful advice in where / how to relocate gutters. Came to house to discuss placement and working with landscape contractor to get whole system right the first time. I have an antique old house (over 200 years old) and attention to aesthetic detail and workmanship is important to me -- gave good advice and very fair price.

They drove by my house and looked outside and 'performed an estimate.' They didn't do anything and I find it hard to believe that they could tell me what work needed to be done without them even looking at the property or even going on the roof to look around. They advised me it would cost about 5000.00 for the work that needed to be done. Meanwhile, I had another company perform a very thorough estimate and advised me that I didn't need any work to be done as everything looked to be in tact.

So far, so good! Will definitely use him when the time finally comes!

Our town was hit with a freak storm/ tornado (F-0) the day before we were heading out on vacation. A large limb pierced our roof creating a large hole and exposing my house to the outside elements. I quickly called Novalis and spoke to the owner Dave who quickly agreed to come out and help with the repair. It was great to see a business owner respond so quickly which allowed me to leave for my schedule vacation on time. Dave took all my worries away and was there the next morning and did an excellent job with the repair - even matching the new shingles to our older shingles so the job also looks great. The price was more than fair and I was very pleased once again with Dave and his company. Thank you.

It was a straight forward job of replacing missing shingles from two sections of the roof ( after Hurricane Sandy), clean gutter and replace a broken gable vent. Estimate was provided by the owner. A two member crew did the work in the afternoon, cleaned up well after the work was done. Recommended them to our neighbours.

After sustaining roof damage from Hurricane Sandy, I called this company along with several others after researching roofers in my area on Angies List. A man from this company called me back right away, which initially impressed me. He advised me he would come to my home and assess the roof and leave a business card in my mailbox. He said he would be there in 2-4 days. A week later, after no sign he had been there, I called Novalis again. The man I spoke with said they were very busy and rescheduled a roof assessment for the following week. Again - no sign the next week that he had come by. Again, called Novalis and spoke to a man who identified himself as the owner and advised me he would look into the situation and would call me back soon. That was two months ago, and I have had other roofers come for estimates and have just signed a contract with someone who actually came to my house. I realize all roofers have been busy with Sandy damage, but at least have the courtesy to communicate with people and not leave them hanging. A quick one minute phone call to say you are too busy or your company does not fix flat roofs would've allowed me to find other roofers more quickly.

Got the estimate for roof repair in a timely manner. Work done in a professional manner, on time and as promised. Fair and Reasonable pricing.

No Call back...... Doesn't matter how busy you are not to call back a potential customer.

iT WENT WELL AS FAR AS BEEN PUNCTUAL AND THEY SEEM TO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. THE PERSON DOING THE WORK TOOK THE TIME TO ANSWER MY QUESTIONS IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER.THE FINISHED WORK LOOKS GOOD.

There has not been a leak since and the repair appears to have been successful. Novalis did say that if water came in next time we had a heavy rain they would revisit the issue at no additional cost but that has not been necessary. *I cannot find the invoice so the date is an estimate and may be off by some way.

It went very well. They came out and did an estimate and left me the numbers. I didn't even have to be home for them to do the roof repair.

I had great expectations after reading the areas of advertised expertise posted by Novalis Roofing Co. . I made an appointment for them to view my roof leak problems . My wife sat at home for the 1PM to 4PM appointment band set up . At 5:30PM they were a no-show and did not call with a reason . I reached David Novalis at his office and he apologized for the lasp and promised to be at my home the next day . The next day my wife looked out to see him stopped at our mailbox in process of leaving our property . She ran out and flagged him down . Apparently , he had surveyed our 37 foot tall home's roof from the driveway and was set to leave without speaking to anyone . My wife asked if he was going to come inside to see where the water had done damage . He said no , but at her insistance he came inside to inspect .David told my wife that he would send someone with a ladder the next day to inspect the roof and he would follow up with an estimate . The worker did not come to our home but the estimate arrived 4 days later . Another wasted day of waiting for my wife . Note : Mr. Novalis arrived at my home in an 80 thousand dollar plus Range Rover . Wrong message . We decided to allow someone else to help make the payments on his "WORK' vehicle !!

My home recently developed several roof leaks that have defied my attempts to repair. A call to Novalis Roofing was responded to quickly by Jim who dispatched one of his techs to evaluate the situation. Much to my pleasant surprise, their quote was to attempt repairs as opposed to just try to sell me a new roof. It's been about a week and several rainstorms have taken place since the repairs have been made. So far no leaks! Hopefully my very positive experience will continue if the same leaks should reappear and I have a need to call them back.

My experience with them was great. They were very responsive and gave me the estimate the very next day. Their estimated price was $8500. I would definitely consider contacting them again in the future. I received estimates from a couple of other companies too and decided to go with one of them.

They were willing to take a small job, and fit us in promptly between other larger jobs. Good workmanship and they left the site perfectly clean. We didn't even need to be home to get the job done. Thanks!

as above...definitely use them if you are local to the area and you need soemone to come in quickly and do an effective job. I suspect they may be expensive for a whole roof replacement so do your benchmarking for sure

Very quick to respond and to complete work.

I called in early April to get an estimate. They came within a few days and delivered the estimate shortly thereafter. I called to schedule the job and was told that I would be put on a list. Due to the very wet spring he could not give me a firm date for completion, which was understandable. The job was completed in one day and we have not had any problems since. They did a great job on the gutter cleaning at a reasonable price. We would use them in the future.
