Apex Appliance Repair & Air Duct Cleaning

Everything was smooth; Apex' personable expert arrived on time and offered a quick inspection, along with some helpful explanations about how to best use our dryer and gas fireplace (we had just moved in). Nothing needed serious cleaning, so he wrote up the inspection certificates needed for our HOA and then dropped the price from the deal we had agreed to through Angie's List ($160) to $95. Who else does that? We'll definitely be calling Apex for our future Appliance needs!

My washing machine started making a ridiculously loud noise when in the spin cycle. (Kind've like a freight train) Anyway, the machine kept working fine so I'd just closed the door & ignore it. This past Tues. my dryer started making a high pitched screeching sound. Eek! Not something to be ignored. I went on Angies List & saw all the good reviews Apex has gotten so gave them a call on Wed. We set an appt. for Sat. between 10 and 2. Ray showed up around 11. Went straight to work on the dryer. Listened to the noise & was immediately able to diagnose it was something called an idler wheel. Took the whole dryer apart, cleaned it, put in the new thingamajig, closed it up & voila, it worked like new. On to the washer. My washer did not have such a happy ending. Ray said it couldn't really be fixed. (Probably cheaper to buy a new one) But he also told us it could keep on working fine for a while, if we could put up with the noise. (No problem) And to keep an eye out for any leaking, which would be our cue it was time to replace. I was very happy with the service we got. Very professional & honest. Would definitely use again.

Appliance was evaluated and I was told cost of different repairs (based on possible problems) . Given the age of the fridge (16 years) and prior issues it had, I opted to replace it. (he did arrive with the necessary parts for the most likely problem) I wanted an honest evaluation of the appliance and the likely repair costs - I got exactly what I wanted.

Service professional told me what needed to be done and encouraged me to save money by ordering the parts myself and talked me through the repair process. I found the parts online and saved over $200.

The work was tedious and the repair was done flawlessly. The tech knew his way around the gas oven, kept the work area clean, and was very friendly and professional.

The tech came in and turned on the dryer and of course there was heat. But then he listened to what I had to say and didn't discount that my dryer wasn't working properly. He took it apart, cleaned it and replaced the coil. Working like a champ!

This is my new go-to company for annual dryer vent cleaning and if I need anything else on the list of services they provide, I will not hesitate to give them a try. From first phone contact to closing the door behind my service person (Louis) as he left this morning I can't say enough good things. Courteous, on time, called before arrival, fair price, work done quickly and efficiently by a professional and polite person. Setting the appointment was quick and easy too. I like this business and I would tell anyone who asks.

They turned on the dryer and put a brush into the vent from the outside of the house. Lots of lint came pouring out and was left all over, outside my house. He worked for maybe 20 minutes for two dryers for $190. I did not think I got my moneys worth.

They were prompt and efficient The young man was very courteous and left everything back in its place.

Repair was more expensive than I expected for what seemed a very inexpensive item that needed to be replaced, however, I don't know that another provider would have done it for less.

On Sept 21, 2017 at 4 pm I called Apex to find out what is happening. As I got off the phone they called right back in less then two minutes and explained to me due to nature of my job they pushed me back to be the last job so the Tech would have enough time to do the job. They told me he was on his way and would arrive at 4:30 pm The tech was Ray who called me told me he is on his way. Ray arrived on time. Ray was great from start to finish. He listen to what I said about how the duct was laid out. He looked over every thing. The outside of the house, how high up the vent was the pipe work connected with vent. He cleaned my duct with such great care and made sure it was clean. He had all the right tools for the job. When that was done he looked at my dryer. He took that thing apart to the shell and found the problem. It needed a good cleaning. Ray was understanding that I am on a fixed income so being a first time customer gave me a break. Let me tell all you people who may read this Ray did his very best in fixing my dryer to save me the cost of buying a new one. Ray really cared about my situation and people that is no bull. Ray is a great guy. He really worked **** ** my dryer. The cost was $75.00 In conclusion people I am very very happy with how it turned out. Let me tell you if it went bad I would have told you so. I plan to have my duct clean again next year and I want Ray to come back. I forgot to mention the right call was made in making me last. Ray spent about 2 hours at my house. People if you give much detail to the work you need done it makes it easy for the company and you. I also want to apologize for making my review so late but due to health issue I am doing it now. Thank you Ray and Apex.

He charged me an extra $350 to repair my fridge, but it didn't fix the issue. He sent another guy out and they said it "might" be something else. They suggested it might be overheating and to put a fan blowing on the back of the fridge. The fridge/freezer are still not staying cool. I called again and they said that it might be the controller fan that needed to be replaced, they replaced something entirely different and it still doesn't work. I stopped calling them and my fridge still doesn't work. It can't be that complicated to fix a refrigerator.

VERY well. I am impressed that Apex worked hard to fit the job in today, as I was leaving New Jersey that evening. I am also impressed that the tech stayed to complete the job, changing out the ductwork in a crawlspace, even though the job turned out to be bigger than he planned. The cleaning out of the dryer helped to get the "Start" button working again, saving me the expense and inconvenience of a repair visit.
