Apex Appliance Repair & Air Duct Cleaning

I had trouble with my LG dryer. It would take 3 hours to dry one load of wash. The repair man Mike came to my house and asked me questions about the dryer. I told them that I had the dryer vent cleaned a week ago. He was determined to find out what the problem was. It just so happened that we had a new roof put on last November and when they came around the dryer vent on the roof, they put a dense screen up where it captured all my dryer lint and was clogging the vent. Mike went into our attic where the dryer vent extended out to the roof and fixed the problem. Thanks Apex for a speedy and reliable service. His staff made an appointment within 2 days. He arrived promptly, was very personable and professional. Both days with us he was careful not to track in snow and salt. He quickly diagnosed the problem and ordered the parts (on a Friday) and returned to do the actual repair the next Monday. He took the time to explain the problem and the repair. My laundry room was left as clean as prior to his visit. I would eagerly use his services again and refer other consumers to him.

I received a call from Tom the company owner early this Sunday morning to discuss my previous complaint. First off Tom apologized very honestly as he was not aware of my service issues at the time. Through a very positive conversation about the history of events it was evident that this was one of those isolated events that can happen. I have been an APEX customer since 2006 and have always received excellent service from Tom and his company's technicians and after Toms explanation I will remain a loyal customer, after all as we all know its very hard to find good service providers and I am confident APEX will continue to be an excellent service provider as they have always been in the past to me. I really appreciated the call back Tom, thank you.

Was it me or was it the oven? My last two batches of muffins turned into goo not gourmet. Turned out, after checking my new digital oven thermometer, it was the oven. Even though the oven was set at 350 degrees, it only heated up to 285. No wonder I was miffed about my muffins. I called my go-to appliance repair firm, but they stiffed me, and at the last minute. So I went to my go-to website, Angieslist.com, and looked up appliance repair services. Apex got top reviews, so I called them, they set up a time, came within the parameters agreed upon and didn't take advantage of me. Tom arrived, introduced himself to me and my husband, got right down to work and found that the first problem was fixable at a reasonable price. I was about to tell him to go ahead and order the part when he did some more diagnostics that turned up another, extremely expensive problem with the electronics. He told me that even though he could fix the problem it would be better for me to apply the amount of the repairs toward buying a new stove. Tom charged me for the service call (a reasonable price), recommended several brands of stoves and places to go buy them. Better yet, he was really apologetic that the problems were so expensive to fix. Me, I was happy that he was honest and helpful. He is now my go-to guy for appliance repairs.

GREAT experience. I have been a homeowner in NJ for 20 years so I have had my share of contractors and repair providers. I had tried other appliance repair companies but after seeing reviews on Angie's list I tried Apex. I have been very pleased. Their fee for the visit was less than other companies and response time was faster. I called at about 8:30 am and Tom came almost right away and fixed the freezer. Knew exactly what was wrong as soon as I described the problem and had the parts in stock. Was done by 11:00 am and saved me from having to throw a lot of food away. Cleaned up thoroughly and was careful not to damage the floor in moving the fridge. Would definitely recommend and would use this company again.

Technician entered home early in the morning and I detailed the last time I used my oven which was to self clean it. I explained that after recently using the self clean option the oven did not heat, everything else worked, clock, lights, control panel, etc. The tech informed me that I should not have used the self cleaning mode because this feature could and would burn out the control that regulates the oven temperature. He stated that he has seen this scenario in other ovens and the part would cost x amount. He turned on the oven to check on a diagnosis but no fix. Onto the dishwasher. The issue is that the door needs to be held when opening so it doesn't fall open which 'broke' about a year ago. Installed in 2004 with a custom panel front, the tech informed me that the make of the dishes washer was not made to support a heavy custom panel. He did opened the dishwasher to check that the pulley system was in functioning order, yes it was again, no fix. Tech was paid for the visit and left. After investigating the cost of new ovens, I called Apex a couple days later and left a message that I would like to get a quote on repairing the oven. The tech returned my call the next morning and stated that Apex would not fix oven due to manpower required.

They checked oven and felt it would be better to contact GE direct since there is a computer involved. What expressed me the most was there honesty. They did not charge me for the call. I would definitely use them should I have a problem with my other appliances.

Our washing machine had stopped spinning. Contacted Apex and was able to schedule an appointment first thing the following morning. The representative arrived during the window identified by Apex when I called. He was professional and reviewed the situation, identified what he thought was the issue and what was needed, provided a price and got confirmation from me to proceed before conducting the work. The work was completed quickly. He also cleaned the dryer vent at my request. The washing machine has worked well since the repair.

As it turned out, my water dispenser had probably been frozen temporarily, though this was a conclusion only reachable after the fact. When the serviceman arrived, at the early part of the appointment window, the water started flowing! (Of course!) He checked it out thoroughly but there truly did not seem to be an issue. I paid a reasonable service call fee, and used the opportunity to clean the floor under the refrigerator while he had it pulled out. The entire process was a pleasure. I would not hesitate to call Apex for any appliance repair needs in the future.

They did a excellent, efficient very pleasant good price. They told me what time they would come out came out on time they called thirty minutes prior to let me know they were on their way. Great Service I would use them again.

tech was very proffesional. knew right away what problem was, and had replacement part with him. was prompt, neat and polite. service took about 30 minutes tops !

Great service but expensive. |I had them to service my refrigerator. When the technician arrived he said I should not have unplugged it since the problem would now be very hard to diagnose. I told him it would have been nice if they told me that when I called in the problem. The technician was able to make an educated guess on the problem based on my description and he turned out to be correct. The problem was fixed but I think based on the time he spent the price was a little high

They could not fix cost would be out about 350.00 The stove top was not worth it. But they did not pressure me to do it.

I called the day before & explained the dryer was making noise again. I had a service call 2 months before from another service provider. I made an apt. for the next day & was given a window. (I chose mornings.)I got a call when the provider was on the way. Tom introduced himself. He was quite pleasant . After the explanation of what was wrong I asked him if he minded if I watched him ''open'' the dryer. ( The previous repairman wanted to work alone) He was so very accommodating, explained everything and was forthcoming with the price . I told him I was very pleased I joined Angie's list & that I was finally getting some good service providers. He finished up & it wasn't until he was out the door & I thanked him he mentioned he was the owner of the company.(Undercover Boss : ) The dryer is back in business.

Arrived promptly. Quickly identified problem and fortunately had a replacement part in his vehicle. He was very cordial and informative about the problem. The repair took approximately an hour and left the everything clean and neat as was before work commenced.

I called Apex and the lady on the phone asked me what kind of product was I having a problem with. I told her it was Frigidaire and she said a repair man would be in my area around 4. He showed up at 12 no problem I was home anyway. I showed him the problem and he said he didn't have the part which I seen online or at Sears for $70,00 He said if he purchased the part which was a water valve it would cost him $100, and after installing the part it would cost $275, The price of the part and installation seem unreasonable high to me especially the price of the water valve so I paid him the service charge and went to Sears and bought the part myself for $72,00 and installed it myself, Total price after the service charge to me and a lesson $150.00 I will not be calling Apex again.

it went great.! after listening to the people who were there before Apex i thought i was going to have to buy a whole new oven bc i thought my oven door was broke for good. but he fixed it and was a complete professional throughout the whole process. I definitely recommend Apex and Doug in particular.

Repair person was on time. I was able to secure a same day appointment. Estimate provided prior to job being done. 2 year warranty on parts used in repair. Overall a good experience with Apex.

On Wednesday evening (1/17/2013) our washing machine stopped in mid cycle and would not drain or restart in any cycle. I called Apex thinking I would leave a call back number for the next day but to my surprise my call was answered by a real person at that late hour. Apex took my information and scheduled me for the first appointment time on Friday (1/19/2013), that's pretty fast if you've never called for an appliance repair. On Friday morning at 830 am Mike our Technician was at the door right on time. Mike was cordial, friendly and informative as he inspected the machine and found the pump was jammed by possible debris. Once unclogged the machine reset and started its cycle again. Mike gave me the choice to either replace the pump indicating that it may be starting to fail or wait until it does fail which it may or may not. I chose to wait and appreciated the option. Mike indicated that if the pump did fail to call back and he will replace the pump with the service call amount deducted from the off the balance of the repair cost. Apex is now my Appliance repair company. There customer response was excellent and instead of just replacing a costly item that may not have to be replaced (yet to be seen) informed me that I had a choice. The washer has gone through may cycles since the problem without incident. I also appreciated Mike's comments on the do's and don'ts with the machine to avoid some other problems in the future.

What a relief! This was the most efficient and punctual appliance repair service I have ever experienced. When I called on Sunday, I was given a window between 10 AM and 3 PM for Monday. This morning, I had a call around 10:30 AM that the serviceman was on his way. He was here before 11 AM. Tom immediately identified the problem and thoroughly explained what he would do to rectify the situation. He also assured me should the steps he would take not work to restart my refrigerator-freezer and replacement became necessary, that I would not have to pay anything other than the service call charge of $69.00. Mind you,when I called GE' Repair Service on Saturday, they told me that I would not have service until the next Wednesday. Their service charge was $99.00. They also said if the appliance could not be repaired they would give me a credit towards another GE. Since the current GE that I have seems to be a lemon (per research on model), I would not take a chance ever purchasing another. Therefore, the bribe of a $$$ credit was not effective. I felt the person I was speaking with at GE was leaning more towards replacement. When you are stuck without refrigeration in 90 degree temperatures, you want speedy and reliable repair service. What a pleasant surprise to have my fridge/freezer repaired within an hour and not at an exorbitant cost. Apex has me as a customer forever and I will certainly tell all of my friends and family about them for any of their repairs. Thank you Tom...thank you Apex!

I would use them again if the price wasn't so high.

Raymond arrived on the earlier side of my 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. window; checked my oven and quickly replaced the part that had broken (electronic igniter); He was very nice and professional and had a great sense of humor. Repaired my oven quickly and was on his way in about an hour. Then he checked my dishwasher and it miraculously it worked on all cycles.

The repairman came the day I called. As I suspected the repair on our 10 year old refrigerator was a major one, and I did consider getting a new one. The repairman was very polite and gave an estimate of repair cost as well as letting me know it was fine to take a day or two to think it over. I presumed, given the age of the refrigerator and necessity to replace the parts with the actual brand, that we would be without a fridge for at least a week. In fact they were able to locate the correct parts and installed them the next day. WE were very impressed and pleased with the service.

I called for service on my dryer and one burner on my cooktop. The service tech could not resolve the problem on either appliance. My dryer would ignite on all cycles but once it reached its high temp and the flame went off it would not re-ignite. One burner on my cooktop would not light from the electric spark that fires the gas. Had to pay service call fee but got no service.
