Called them in August and spoke to the Lady, got me added to a list. She told me to followup at a certain date. I called and she said, you are still on the list and gave me another date. This happened at least 3 to four times. During my most recent call with her, this most abnoxious women in the world told me that me calling her is delaying the entire customer base as it stops her from writing up work orders. She said she was being nice by giving me a date to follow-up and told me to take my Snowblower somehwere else. After months of having me chase these guys, i was simply told to go somewhere else. All i said was "Great customer service" and you know what Lady.. if you are think you are nice.. you are absolutely delusional! I would NOT recommend anyone to take their business to these people who don't care about their customers. I would rather go somewhere else. bottom line.. Terrible Terrible people!

I needed a new snowblower and had my eyes set on an Ariens 1230 SHO. Northeast Equipment couldn't get them in once their initial order had sold out, so the only way I could get one was to order online from a company in the midwest. It arrived in a crate and needed to be assembled. I did my best but gave up about halfway through and took the machine to NE Equipment for a proper assembly. A couple of days later it was ready and they charged me $90, which I thought was fair. Then a snowstorm hit and I found the machine had a number of serious flaws; something a $1500 snowblower should not have. The machine stalled out regularly, couldn't travel in a straight line to save its life and the chute didn't turn properly. I called Ariens corporate and arranged to have the machine serviced under warranty at another dealer (Fred's Small Engines in Livingston). They found the source of the stalling (a kinked fuel system hose), the poor handling (composite skids were installed) and they discovered that NE Equipment's techs had installed part of the chute controls upside down, which is why it wasn't turning properly. They had also routed the chute cable incorrectly in a way that caused it to kink, so they replaced that, too. Obviously I will not deal with Northeast Equipment again. Although their service people were nice enough and they have a good stock of parts, the work was just not done correctly. Not just that, but the salesman I initially contacted didn't seem to care about my needs as a paying customer. I told him the model I needed and rather than bust his hump to get me one, he basically said I had to buy a professional machine for twice the price or do without until next year. "Oh well" were his words, when I said I'd go elsewhere. No attempt to go out of his way to satisfy someone who had $1500 burning a hole in his pocket and needed a new machine. Yeah. Real classy. I own 6 pieces of small engine equipment, all of which need regular servicing and occasional upgrading/replacing. Guess where I won't be spending my money. Oh well.
