The work was not good, the anchor's pulled out, when the man closed my pool he didn't turn off the power to the breaker and the next morning the automatic timer kicked on the pool cleaner pump and burned it out. He attempted to fix it next Spring an it only lasted for a year, the pump got so loud my neighbor started complaining about it and the pool got so dirty. He came out after a while and put in a new pump for me. He wasn't a total failure but he dragged his feet on it. He is a poor contractor and I wouldn't recommend him.
Description of Work: I used Dreamscapes Pools to put in a pool cover in Fall of 2011 or 2012.

I think the owner runs the business right out of his home. The job was completed on time. I spent about $2400 for the job done by them. I think there was a lack of communication and there were some things that I could do myself. It is not that the guy doesn’t know about the pools and not that there wasn’t a lot of work in the area, but the prices by some of them were ridiculous. I think $2400 is ridiculous. I think they all get together and decide and I also guess that nobody competes. It is not that hard to install one and it is a job that you can do it yourself. A guy with moderate tools and with average or above average skills could do it. They didn’t go over the things that well. The choices on the pool cover in the beginning should have been gone over a little bit more in detail so that we could really make sure that we knew what he was talking about. He thinks he went over them, but I don’t think he did. Otherwise, I would have chosen a different pool cover or the one with drain panels in it rather than this one. It sits right on top of the pool. It stopped working and the hose froze first and then the water froze and there was all that weight on the pool cover. I am not so sure if there is anybody any better because there was another guy who did a lot of work for a certain individual and he was supposed to come out to give me an estimate, but he didn’t show up at all. Then another guy came in and gave me an estimate for $3500 and then this guy did the job. The materials for the cover may cost about $1000. He did the whole job in four hours and charged us over $1000. So, I think it is way overpriced for what they did. The drain panels and other things froze up during the winter when all the weight was on there. So, he came over once. I would probably use him again if I don’t find anybody else. I might get more estimates from other companies. This guy is knowledgeable and he has been in the business for a long time. He set up the pool pump that came with the cover on top of the cover. It is supposed to pump off the water in the winter, but he left it in the box for me to install. He never told me that I would require electricity when I do this job. In fact, I had a cord running all winter over the other side to have the pool pump plugged in. I think he should have sat down to tell me about what cover I would get, what it is going to do or what I would expect out of it. There was no way to pump anything off from the top of the cover and he never said that he took the responsibility of installing the pool pump. That is what happened when it froze. So there were a lot of issues the way it was done. I still don’t know how it is supposed to work like that. I still have a lot of questions even after 8 to 9 months, but I liked the guy. His responsiveness was poor. I would not use his services again.
Description of Work: We had a pool cover done by Dreamscapes Pools in October. They measured for a pool cover, ordered one, winterized the pool and then installed the cover in early October.
