Description of Work: Pro Desk Girl at Home Depot recommened a "NON-APPROVED" Contractor that she was taking tips from (not allowed) and he turned out to be a con-artist and huge scammer of senior citizens and Hurricane Sandy victims. She claimed this contractor was wonderful - it was a lie and I got ripped off for close to $30,000 and she profited from all the cash he slipped to her in tips for recommending him. They had a scam going.

They responded within two days of my phone call to come and give me an estimate. Their price was considerably higher than the other five companies that gave me estimates. I selected another service provider.
Description of Work: I was seeking estimates to replace the shingles on my roof. Home Depot was punctual and responsive in coming to the house to give me an estimate. The estimator did not go on the roof to assess the current situation, all observations and measurements were estimated from ground level. The other main difference was the price quotation which was $4000 higher than the other 5 companies that gave me estimates.

We order insulated siding and Bella Stone faux stone for our house. Home Depot provide the subcontractors who performed the work. The insulated siding was done very well, however, the Bella Stone was a major disappointment. For the Bella Stone, the corner applications showed the Tyvek membrane wrap and the vinyl of the the faux stone pieces in the corners. The corners were applied OVER the front-exposure "stones" so that the corner edge was absolutely visible, exposing the non-decorative portion of the corners. We called Home Depot back to express our displeasure. They agreed with us and called the subcontractor back to fix the job. The subcontractor indicated that this was the approved method of installation for the product. Between my husband, Home Depot and the subcontractor, they devised an application which mitigated the problem, but wasn't ideal. Also the subcontractor caulked between the panels of faux stone. The caulk keeps shrinking and looks terrible. I have not been able to contact our original Home Depot contractor to correct this problems. I went into the the Home Depot store to report my problem. They contacted the person in charge of this department who was supposed to contact me. It's been at least 6 months and I haven't heard anything yet. The original big sales pitch was that Home Depot would stand behind us, the consumer, 100%.

N-Hance responded promptly to our request for service. They brought in samples of oak with their various finishes so that we had a good idea of how our cabinets would look. They took the cabinet doors and drawer fronts into their shop to refinish. The cabinet bases were done in our home. The work in our home took about 3 days to complete. We opted to reattach our cabinet doors ourselves because we were replacing the hardware. The kitchen looks dramatically different and we wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
Description of Work: Home Depot Subcontracted with N-Hance to refinish the oak cabinets in our kitchen. The performance numbers listed above are really for N-Hance. We had no additional contact with Home Depot once we we contacted N-Hance. We wanted to refinish our solid oak cabinets to look more like dark cherry. N-Hance cleaned the cabinets and applied the chosen finish to cover the existing finish. This is not a service to strip the cabinets to the natural wood and re-stain. It is a surface application.
