custom cabinets
 + -1 moreAt the 5 week period, I called again. It was nearing the end of the promised date. Mrs Mixon hysterically accused me of yelling at her, hassling her, stabbing in the back, at the mention of an attorney. She then asked, "Well what do you want, the cabinets, or your money back?" I responded, "I would like my $1300 back." In June, at my wit's end, a friend who owns properties, and perhaps is more adept in this situation, talked to Ray Mixon (though my friend was initially deterred from doing so). She was told that we would have to draw up a contract to cancel the contract. That was the last contact I had.
Description of Work: Ray Mixon came to my house for an estimate on April 25th, 2007 for the building of custom cabinets. Mixon was recommended by a contractor I had know for 7 years. I considered his offer reasonable, $2639, to be delivered in 4 to 6 weeks. I paid for half, $1300, upfront, and he cashed the check immediately. After 4 weeks I wanted to know what the progress was, so I left a message. A second call gave me an answer, that the cabinet makers were backlogged. This the first occasion that I heard other cabinet makers were involved. Another call yielded the same result. Mrs. Mixon said, they were waiting for "the door." I questioned, because many doors were involved, and she said, "oh, the doors." A painter I had painting the other cabinets called, and there was no response.
