moved me from Florida to New York City. I took an insurance of $100,000-value for damage or lost of my furnitures. My beautiful French wood furniture which were listed as high value items were kept in moist storage and had grey mildew or were used outdoor. A side table wood was raised frm the moist and the inurance adjuster told us they will not pay for that because it can not be fixed! Every wood item were either broken or moister damaged In New York they had provided only three unexperienced movers to unload the furniture. They brook most of my wood furnitures while bringing them up through the elevator. It looked like they collected those workmen from the street corner and hired for the one day job! They book or cheeped every single wood furniture that I have. Among the damaged goods was An expensive and very high quality side table with a special lacquer top got a hole on side and moist and water got in it and their adjuster who gave us a visit confirmed the high value for the damage! Then the insurance claimer denied and refused to pay for the damage, claiming the damage was not transit related. Being a high value item his item was detected before packing and listing as spotless in Florida. Now They propose to file for Arbitrator. If they cheat me not to take responsibility for their damages, how can I trust their recommended Arbitrator? Bottom line , stay away from the Mayflower movers if you have quality furnitures Disaster is the right word for this company. Here are the facts of my interaction with United Mayflower. Because of several missed appointments and the almost complete lack of communication from United Mayflower's local office in Burlington, NJ, I will not be giving them my business. On Wednesday, I made a reservation for Friday. I was told I would receive a call on Thursday with a three-hour window for the Friday delivery. I received no call on Thursday, so I called customer service Thursday evening and was told that my order was confirmed but that the local office hadn't scheduled my delivery yet. On Friday morning, the local office called and gave a delivery window of 4-7pm Friday. We received no delivery on Friday, so I called customer service Friday evening and was told that they would contact the local office. Saturday morning at 11am, I called customer service for an update. I was told they would contact the local office again. At around 5pm, I called again and spoke to the same rep, who told me the local office had not even called him back. At that point, they decided to not charge me for the initial delivery, which I appreciated. On Monday morning, I called customer service again and asked what time on Monday the container would be delivered. The answer was "late morning or early afternoon." It was not delivered. That evening, I called customer service again and was put through to the local office. I left a voicemail with one of the heads of the office. The next morning, I received a voicemail from the local office apologizing and saying we would "certainly" get the container today, maybe in late morning but definitely in the afternoon. The container arrived between 2 and 3pm, but the driver would not deposit it due to our driveway having an 8 degree grade. I had informed United Mayflower of the grade when I first made the appointment and was told it would be fine. I cancelled the container that afternoon. Only at that point was I told that it was at the local office's discretion as to whether they could drop off a container. Which is understandable, but I should have been told that at the beginning.
Description of Work: This provider was to drop off a portable storage container, pick it up at a later date, store it and then move it to a second location.
