+ -1 moreHe repairs antiques on the side. His main business is kitchen and bathroom work. I feel his prices are fair, he does good work, and he does it quickly. He is very pleasant and I have enjoyed working with him.
Description of Work: Took 4 antique dining room chairs to Red Rooster Restoration. Also took in an old oak chair, and a cracked leaf repaired from a cherry drop-leaf table.

+ -1 moreWhen I saw the request to write a response for Rooster Restoration and just had to respond. I brought my grandmother's black walnut dining room table to be refinished there many years ago. The table was in terrible shape, I didn't know if it was worth keeping. After consulting with RR, I had it refinished and I'm so happy I did. The workmanship was just masterful. I have used this as my dining room table since it was refinished. I have a Queen Anne chair that I am giving to my son, but it too needs refinishing. I will absolutely bring it to RR. Although I thought the price was a little costly, I do not regret spending the money. It was worth the cost, their work is stunning.
Description of Work: Had my grandmother's 100 year old dining room table refinished.

+ -1 moreKevin is an superb craftsman and artist. No matter how small the job, he does it to perfection. This is a business where neatness counts and he has never disappointed. He is friendly and professional and takes his time, helping you pick fabrics or woods or design details. He always explains in detail what he's going to do and why it costs what it does. If you ask about other antique and vintage pieces in his shop he is always willing to share his knowledge and explain what he working on and why. This is a place where you definitely get more than your money's worth. I have additional jobs lined up for him.
Description of Work: Over the years, Kevin has done several jobs for us. He has glued our vintage dining chairs, and other small pieces of furniture, made all new upholstered dining chair seats, has made a new, from scratch, saddle cushion for my camel bench, and made new leaves for my dining table as well as my mom's. Both our tables had only two leaves. Kevin made additional leaves, matching the edges perfectly. But the important part is underneath. He made all new supports to hold them and a gear system to make the table open smoothly,. He also reupholstered a complicated 8 piece living room sectional with unusual pillows. It came out better than when new, with new legs to give the added height my aging parents needed.
