Description of Work: The estimate they gave me for a cross-country trip was too high by about $1900. They give an upper bound for the price, will only reimburse a partial amount if the estimate turns out to be too high. Why not just charge what the actual weight is instead of charging too much up front and giving a partial refund? I found a specific example of gross inaccuracy their estimate. In the last days, I had to add a dryer to the move. They jacked up the price by $400 just for one dryer. I had no choice accept because they would not do the move otherwise. They added 280 pounds, and $1700 more insurance coverage for a dryer that weighed less than 100 pounds. When I asked them about this gross mistake after the move, they had no explanation. I would not recommend them.

+ -1 moreWhile we did not ultimately go with Central, it was a tough choice and we were happy with their bid. The most dramatic difference between companies (we had bids from 4) was that Central charges based on weight instead of time. We ultimately determined that it would be more expensive by weight, for us.
Description of Work: We got a quote from Central for a recent move but ultimately went with a different company.
