ALAN'S TREE SVC

Alan explained that thinning out the upper branches would keep the trees from acting like a sail in the wind. With this, wind is more likely to just blow through them. We had a lot of damage from storms like Sandy, and some of our neighbors saw old, large trees blow over. He's been cleaning up stuff all over the neighborhood. This was his third call back to our house, and he said as a preventative measure, he'd thin out the branches inside the upper part of the tree. He said that less-experienced tree workers might leave them trees top-heavy. There's also less leaves to rake! He has a lot of business, and the chipping machine didn't get here to finish the job right away, so he did a beautiful job of getting the branches lined up and ready to finish the next day. He worked later and longer to get the job done well, as he was mindful of working with the weather. He didn't send people up the trees if it was going to be too windy. He had a very experienced crew and safety was always a priority.

I called Alan's out for an estimate to have some trees trimmed and they wanted approx $1500 to trim a few branches on 3 trees....not take them down, just to trim a few of the branches that were overhanging the house. I had to call them up, as they did not even leave any paperwork like I asked them. A very obnoxious woman answered the phone and I asked them where the estimate was, and she replied "we don't leave or mail out estimates unless you agree to do the job" I replied that their prices are too high and I will not use their services. Stay away from this one !! THIS IS AN UPDATE to Alan's comment. Alan you visited my house on a Saturday morning and I spoke to you face to face. Your wife was in the car with you....you were going shopping afterwards.... While she stayed in the car; we walked in the yard and I told you what needed to be done and showed you what tree branches needed to be trimmed... And yes I noticed that you were at my neighbors house.....
