Proficient Plumbing & Heating

I called 3 plumbers on Saturday 5/3/14 when I could not get the old cartridge out of the valve. We have well water and the valve is 19 years old. I didn't want to damage the pipes, valve, etc so I made the calls. It was early Saturday afternoon and I didn't expect a call back before sometime Monday or Tuesday. Paul actually called around 6 pm Saturday, but I missed his call. He called again Sunday morning. He said he could come out on Monday, but was waiting for a state inspection on pending work at the shore. Since the inspector's window was 8:30 - 4:30 Paul gave me a window from 3 - 5. However, he said as soon as the inspection was completed he would call if he could make it earlier. If I was available then he would come straight over. Paul called around 1:15 and did come over. He had a hard time getting the old cartridge out but was finally able to since he obviously has more experience than I in doing so. Once the cartridge was out the job was completed efficiently. I have not used a plumber in many, many years so I can't really comment on pricing. I think his charge was reasonable especially under my circumstances. Also, I had a few questions for him regarding replacing fixtures, and the actual tub/shower surround he worked on. He answered those without hesitation, and he will most likely be back to perform that work when we are ready to start.

The service person fixed the 2 initial leaks I had noticed and while doing so he noticed an additional leak in one of the pipes. He didn't have the parts on hand so he went and picked them up and came back and finished the job. He was efficient, very professional and nice.

He was punctual and professional and clean. It took about 90 minutes in total.

Mr. P. Wyman was prompt, responsive to my concerns, very professional in his approach to the problem. Mr. Wyman went into much detail concerning the potentional problems that may be encountered during the repair and the potential fixes. The information he related to us, enabled my wife and I to make what was for us the best decision. He did the work in a timely and professional. When the repair was finished he did a masterful job of cleaning the work area. I would very much be willing Mr. Wyman again.

After I left my frantic message about no hot water, Proficient called back within 10 minutes. An appointment was made for between 11AM and 1PM later that afternoon. At 10AM Proficient called and were on their way. The representative was very professional and polite. He asked about the problem to double check his work order, and then quoted a price which was very reasonable. The work took about an hour. When he was finished, he cleaned up better than my husband ever would. I have hot water again! I highly recommend Proficient Plumbing and Heating, and will use them again in the future.

I called Paul regarding a mystery leak that we could not pin down which also involved a filtration system, as well as a few other smaller jobs. Once he got to my home he realized that the filtration system was more complicated than he usually deals with and recommended that I get a specialty contractor that specializes in home filtration systems. At this point, he could easily have left but instead he took the time to locate and stop the leak, which we really appreciated. He then gave me an estimate for the other jobs. I really appreciate Paul's honesty since so many contractors tackle jobs that they cannot do and end up creating a bigger problem than was first reported. Also, he responded right away to my initial phone call and came when he said he would. The estimates that he did give me were also very fair. Thanks Paul!

Great job! Paul was great. He was very professional and explained everything he did and why he was doing it. He took his time while inspecting all the plumbing and answered every question I had. Would definitely recommend Paul if you choose to go with Proficient Plumbing & Heating.

Excellent work. Professional, responsive, punctual. They took extra care in making sure floors were covered and protected and cleaned up the work areas. We used Paul from Proficient to replace a boiler and water heater and to install some baseboard heating in our basement. We were so pleased with both the process and the end result that I cannot recommend Proficient highly enough. All of the work was very well done and he always conducted his business in a very professional manner. The price was very reasonable compared to other quotes we received, and Paul was always punctual. He also went out of his way to accommodate our schedule, which was sometimes difficult. Whenever we had questions or problems, Paul was always willing to come over and look things over and make any changes or adjustments that were necessary. We will continue to use Proficient for all of our heating and plumbing needs and suggest you do, as well.

Responded promptly to request for service. Met me at location and provided a detailed estimate for the work. Arrived on time for installation appointment. Was efficient, professional. Did a meticulous job of installing the heaters, revising the chimney size to code, and installing new gas/ball valves. Cleaned up and left work area as it was found.

Paul did an outstanding job in reconstructing my Lavallette home Gas service piping, due to the damages from Superstorm Sandy. He developed a detailed gas piping plan that was efficient and neatly installed between the floor joists in my crawlspace. Upon completion of the gas piping, Paul meticulously cleaned the piping and even painted the pipe treads to prevent rust. Paul is very reliable and is available any time of the day via phone, email or text. He answers all calls, texts and emails immediately. His pricing is very reasonable. Did a great job. Had to come back a second time because we had to finish tile floor. Never complained about going under house. Others that I called, when hearing they had to go into crawl space, either never called back, told me they were too old to do so, or showed up but then never called me back. Had a great attitude and easy to work with.

Paul is punctual and a good communicator. Never had to wait for a return call, he typically answers the phone every day and just about any hour. He keeps his work area contained and clean. All work is performed in a high quality manner and cleans up after he is done. Price is a good value, and very competitive. We have used his services many times, and will continue to do so.

Called the provider. They returned the call and told me someone would contact me about the work I wanted performed. No one ever called.

Met to assess and receive quote to replace a spigot and assess how the outdoor plumbing was run in our new home. Paul communicated well, was punctual, and overall extremely helpful. He let us know what work should be done and gave us a reasonable quote.

Replacement of shower fixtures wasn't as simple as it sounds. "Paul" did a great job in trying not to damage 50+ year old tiles. He left the job in spotless condition. Very nice young man. Would highly recommend.

We spoke personally on July 25th, Paul said he'd call to schedule an appointment to meet. He called back 2 days later to schedule July 31st at 8am. I called the night before to confirm the appointment. He showed up and promised to come back with an estimate. He was polite and straighforward, so far, so good.

Everything was excellent. He knew what the problem was, had the part that needed replacement and fixed it in no time. The leak is totally gone. Very professional and will totally call upon him again for any plumbing needs in the future.
