Great service. I called mid-morning and Paul arrived by mid-afternoon and quickly unthawed the bathroom pipe. I highly recommend using the services of Proficient Plumbing and Heating.

Our hot water heater started leaking in the middle of the night. As fairly new homeowners, we didn't know how to react. We called at 2am and left a message and received a call back stating they would come the next morning. They arrived, checked out the problem and got a new water heater and installed. Fast and professional service, would definitely use again!

Fantastic. Lovely Paul and Brian (apprentice). Clever, diligent, I cannot say enough good things about them. I had a time restraint they were able to accommodate on a Saturday. They were polite and explained everything well, making sure I would be happy.

He returned my initial call in a reasonable time. We made an appointment for 2 days later. 45 min prior to the window he called to advise that he needed to make an unplanned run for his prior job and would be a little late. Since I was home anyway it was not a big deal. He actually arrived 10 minutes after the end of his window. He inspected the issue and quoted me an acceptable price. He finished the job timely, cleaned up completely and checked to make sure the system was running correctly and not leaking.

Apparently the drain pipe to my bathtub had broken and every time I took a shower, since the pipe was broken, the water was going straight into my basement. I emailed the company through Angie's list and the provider got back to me VERY quickly. He had two jobs to go to that next day but at 4:30 in the afternoon (the day before Thanksgiving) he called me to say that since it was our ONLY bathroom that he would come over after he finished the other 2 jobs. He came to my house, fixed the pipe with a temporary fix, ordered the part that we needed and will come back to finish the job. You cannot even imagine how surprised I was that he went out of his way to come over after a long day's work, even though it was probably after hours, to fix our pipe because we only had one bathroom. You do not find this kind of service nowadays. Not only was I so appreciative of this kindness, but he was done quickly and at a price that I was happy with since we were without a shower/bathtub for 2 days!! I am definitely going to use this provider again, and I have already recommended him to someone else! Kindness goes a long way in my eyes and I cannot even begin to thank him for coming out to fix our bathtub when most others would have made us wait until after the holidays.

Paul replaced the water pipe and added a shut-off value. He did an excellent job. I am quite pleased with the cost and quality of the work.

Great job, would recommend. Returned inital call within a few hours. Called the day before to confirm and showed up on time. Installation went well with no complaints. Glad to final a reliable plumber.

Paul emailed back with in one hour, then we set pricing appointment, then I agreed to the great price and he did the work with in two days since it was not an emergency.Paul did the work on the 3rd of October, he cut the main drain pipe which was metal I have an older house. He put in 9 PVC pipe pieces and used excellent parts to blend metal to PVC, the job took him about one hour and half and looks excellent, he did a super job at a great price, best plumber I have found in years.If you need a plumber pula is your man and they will leave your home clean after the job.

Paul showed up on time and was very professional. Provided options to repair or replace an older faucet. Based on Pauls suggestion we decided to go with the repair which saved us a lot of time and money. Paul was honest and great to work with.

Our hot water heater blew on a Friday late morning. We called proficient plumbing and Paul did everything right. He told us what to do over the phone and was at our house within a few hours. He was able to drain out the rest of the water and came back first thing Saturday morning to install our new hot water heater. The price including labor was more than fair especially since we were vulnerable. That's the point. Paul doesn't take advantage of you. He's fair and honest and the work is quality. Do not hesitate to call him. He will be our plumber for life.

Work was performed exactly as described. Everything was completed professionally, and on-time. I have no complaints. I would definitely use them again.

Paul went above and beyond. He fixed damages done by an incompetant contractor. He was patient, spent hours on the phone tracking down a part in order to fix a hot water heater, was reasonable, kind, did clean work, kept me updated (I was not present during the work) and I would recommend him to everyone.

Everything went smoothly. When he came for an estimate he even made a call to the manufacturer of the old water heater to see if it was still under warranty. We did not feel he rushed while he was here giving the estimate like some of the other people we got estimates from. Once we selected him based on price, ratings on Angie's list and the gut feeling of who would do a good job, we were not disappointed with our choice. After it was installed Paul and his helper explained a little about the new water heater. Paul took his time and did not rush off once the water heater was installed. So it wasn't here's your new water heater, good luck and bye bye. Passed all inspections with no problems. We will be calling him back when we have any plumbing jobs that need to be done.

Paul was excellent!!!! I called to schedule last week and he immediatley called me back with a date of 7/1 between 11-2 because we are located "down the shore", with all the road work, he was delayed by a couple of minutes but still called to let us know. Did an amazing job repairing 2 leaking pipes to outdoor shower, even had to remove some drywall to get to the job. I would highly recommend to anyone in the Lavallette area. It is a pleasure to find and work with an honest and responsive company!!!

Went fine. But, he adjusted water level in the toilets to use less water, but to me it makes them get dirtier faster. If I paid for my water that would be one thing, but I have a well. I called them about a week after the service about a seemingly related issue and they were very responsive. It turned out my water heater stopped working because I ran out of propane. Amerigas! I would use them again.

I called 3 plumbers on Saturday 5/3/14 when I could not get the old cartridge out of the valve. We have well water and the valve is 19 years old. I didn't want to damage the pipes, valve, etc so I made the calls. It was early Saturday afternoon and I didn't expect a call back before sometime Monday or Tuesday. Paul actually called around 6 pm Saturday, but I missed his call. He called again Sunday morning. He said he could come out on Monday, but was waiting for a state inspection on pending work at the shore. Since the inspector's window was 8:30 - 4:30 Paul gave me a window from 3 - 5. However, he said as soon as the inspection was completed he would call if he could make it earlier. If I was available then he would come straight over. Paul called around 1:15 and did come over. He had a hard time getting the old cartridge out but was finally able to since he obviously has more experience than I in doing so. Once the cartridge was out the job was completed efficiently. I have not used a plumber in many, many years so I can't really comment on pricing. I think his charge was reasonable especially under my circumstances. Also, I had a few questions for him regarding replacing fixtures, and the actual tub/shower surround he worked on. He answered those without hesitation, and he will most likely be back to perform that work when we are ready to start.
