Proficient Plumbing & Heating

As always Paul at Proficient Plumbing did not disappoint. We have used Paul exclusively ever since we were fortunate enough to learn of him over a year ago. Paul has done numerous projects for us including installing main water shutoff valves, new water heater, dishwasher, drain work, and leak work. He is honest, dependable, and his prices our incredibly fair. You should contact him for all your needs!

Paul responded to online inquiry within a couple of hours. Made appointment for 10-12 the next morning. He called before arrival and actually arrived with a helper a few minutes before 10. Replace valve and was on his way in about 45 minutes. Also added some clear sealer around bathtub spout when he noticed small space between it and shower tile. Very efficient and professional.

We just purchased a home and didn't know anything about plumbing. Paul & staff to the rescue! They are really great. Return calls promptly, fair prices & good communication. Paul is very honest & he takes the time to explain what needs to be done. We have a 30 yr mortgage, so welcome to the family, guys!

Paul did a great job replacing the hose bib on the outside of the house. It required him going into the crawl space to replace a section of the pipe, then he replaced the faucet and caulked around the final product to protect the siding.

Paul was exceptional. Very reliable, responded to phone calls promptly and showed up on time. We felt the pricing was fair for the work done. One item we needed repaired was a leaky kitchen faucet. Paul informed us the brand we had comes with a lifetime warranty, and then he was able to track down the model number, saving us some money. We appreciate his honesty, as he could have sold us a new faucet and we would have been none the wiser. We are glad we found him and would contact him again without hesitation.

Because the build and his cohorts in the town inspection here did not properly install the plumbing ( some parts of the plumbing actually directing flow BACKWARD toward the kitchen sink), grime has been building up for 30 years. We had the line serviced once but this time it was a solid mass of grease after my attempts to melt away the gook and grime with over the counter products. Paul sent a worker to snake the pipes, which did not work. The worker removed the cleanup cap and we saw that the grease was a solid barrier to proper flow of water waste. Paul credited me for the cost of that service and labored half a day on a Sunday with one additional worker to replace and pitch appropriately the piping from the kitchen to the waste pipe. If the people who built the house did what they were supposed to do, people like Paul would be out of work. But they didn't so he isn't. Paul is as good as it gets. If you have the good fortune to secure his services, consider yourself blessed. But please have a little consideration - cleaning out grease buildups is his worst nightmare. He can't take the odor. And who could blame him! Thank you Paul and colleagues for your courteous and professional service.

His service was great. His price was fair. He was courteous and timely. When he got home he realized that he overcharged us a small amount, so he sent us a check for the difference.

We have contacted Paul numerous times over the last year. EVERY time the experience has been outstanding. From start to finish we have never had a bad experience. He responds promptly, schedules perfectly (shows up on time, never late, never cancelled or changed his arrival time), does impeccable work. We have and will continue to use him for our plumbing needs. You would be making a mistake by not calling Proficient Plumbing!

Came home Mon. nite to find water on the floor in the bathroom ... found it was coming from my tankless water heater unit after trying to figure out was wrong and couldn't ... shut the water off ... Went onto Angie's list Tues. to find someone who knows what they are doing and at a reasonable price .... went through a couple of people ... when I call Proficient and spoke to Paul he was knowledgeable, nice and listened to me ( a woman!) about what I thought the problem was .... He made an appt. for the nxt day and gave me an approx. cost Wed. morning Paul showed up on time, assessed the problem and fixed it right away . He explained what he was doing and did it! cost was what he mentioned from the day before ... I now have a new plumber !

Paul un-sweated the valve, replaced a piece of copper tubing, then re-soldered the valve in-line. The repair was finalized, and the work area was put back in place. All's good. I always believe that the measure of a good company or individual is not when everything goes right, but how they handle matters when confronted with a problem. This could have been argued as many other plumbers may have tried, but Paul stepped-up and immediately took ownership of whatever corrective measures needed to be taken. Paul shows quality and reliability in everything he does. We have used him on several occasions and highly recommend him for his skills, honesty and integrity.

The job went exactly as I had hoped. Prior to the job date, Paul stayed in regular touch with me via text as I requested guidance about which garbage disposal I'd want to buy. In fact he gave me a great tip which led me to change my mind about which model of Insinkerator I wanted, and I'm extremely happy with the one I chose (the Evolution Essential) which is super quiet and a stronger machine than the one (Badger) I first had in mind. On the date of the job, Paul showed up punctually, he was careful about wearing shoe protectors to avoid leaving dirt on the floor, he was very personable and also very efficient, working well in a very tight space, and responding intelligently to an adjustment in the drain pipe he had to make. After he completed the installation and checked for leaks etc., I asked him if he could repair the kitchen sink faucet handle, which the previous owner (a realty flipper) had not secured properly -- it would fall off if you didn't handle it carefully. Paul inspected the problem and quickly fixed it. Then he reviewed several other plumbing issues that my wife and I discovered after moving into the home three weeks ago. His assessments were intelligent, and he was a pleasure to discuss these things with. I plan to hire Paul again to address our other plumbing repairs. I appreciated his respectful and friendly personality as well as his smarts and efficiency. (Oh and his price was exactly as quoted, which I considered totally reasonable, especially in light of the fact that he had about an hour drive from his place to ours.)

Paul was Awesome. Super friendly, helpful and professional. Our old water heater was having some problems and I was worried it would leak water on our new floors. I contacted Paul and he was very informative, helpful and came out that day. The whole time he was here, he didn't stop for a minute. Even when I had questions, he texted me back right away. I highly recommend him and will always use him in the future.

Paul was prompt, courteous, efficient and was conscious of not dirtying our kitchen floor or carpet by wearing coverings over his shoes. He charged a little more than expected, but made up for it with excellent work.

Professional from start to finish. Paul worked with me on the price and scope of the project. Paul worked with us to achieve our vision in our new kitchen, When we ran into a snag with the rough plumbing inspection Paul sent over one of his guys over on the weekend to address so that we could keep our project on schedule. I would and will use Proficient Plumbing for any future plumbing projects and I recommend this company highly to anyone who wants plumbing work done by professionals at a fair and reasonable price. Paul called me earlier than scheduled to let me know that he could come right then if I was home. I was and told him to come over. While I was on the phone with Paul, I asked if he would mind taking a look at another potential plumbing issue and he said that he would. When they arrived, they were friendly, professional and eager to get to work. In order to access the dryer vent pipe, they had to climb up into a portion of my cellar which is filled in with dirt, commonly known as a root cellar. Fortunately, there is room to stand. The distance from the hookup to the dryer to the outside wall is about 20 feet. Paul and Matt worked diligently and got the job done in about an hour. They cleaned up after themselves and made sure everything was working properly before they left. Paul even remembered my request about the other plumbing issue and turns out it is not an issue for now. The price for the job was very reasonable, considering where they had to be to work. But what really sold me on this company was when Paul came to give me an estimate. We had decided on a 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. time frame, so I left work early. On my way home, Paul called to advise me he had just finished a job at a location that was about 45 minutes away and that he had a boiler job lined up not far from where he currently was. He called to see if he could come do my estimate first and then he would go do the boiler job. He was concerned the job might take too long and that he would get to my house too late in the evening. That meant that he had to drive 45 minutes to my house, and then another 45 minutes or so back to do the boiler job. Of course that was fine with me. I was so impressed with his willingness to go out of his way like that for just an estimate (which he could have rescheduled) that I told him he could have the job that night. They are now my go to plumbers and I am recommending them to everyone.

Paul called ahead and arrived when he said he would. He took the time to diagnose the problem and spent time to make sure the job was done right. He was able to perform the work the same day and was very cleanly with his work. We would definitely use his services again.

Promptly responded to a request for an appointment. Called to tell me when he was on his way; diagnosed the issue and replaced the necessary part. Prompt, courteous and reasonable charge. Had used this provider in the past and was so pleased with his work, I called him immediately when service was once again needed.

We contacted Proficient and left a message explaining that we had a leak under the base of our toilet. They called us back within an hour or so and we agreed on an appointment for 8/27/15 between 2-4pm. Proficient arrived as promised and went right to work. They determined that the proper seating of the toilet on the wax ring was not done correctly, so the toilet bowl water was leaking out, and from underneath the base of the toilet. Proficient neatly cleaned up any mess from this, and removed all old, damaged caulking that was at the base of the toilet. They reseated the toilet, using 2 new wax rings, bolted the toilet down and recaulked the base around the toilet. All in all, we were very pleased with their work, knowledge, and professionalism.

Came on time, very courteous, installed new floaters in both bathrooms. Advised me needed a new faucet, then he noticed it was since it was a moen faucet, I could get it replace for no cost. He said he would handle everything for me, took pictures of it, and will install it when it come in. Would definitely use him again, very honest and trustworthy.

Paul did an excellent job! I would highly recommend him to friends. He was prompt, called ahead and showed a great deal of integrity.

Paul called back right away and made a mutually agreeable appointment. He arrived right on time with his helper. Although the problem looked fairly straight forward to me, it seemed to me he took a lot of time and asked quite a few questions before he assessed what needed to be done and then quoted me the price. Paul said he would order the part I needed and returned a few days later. He arrived with his helper and knocked out the repairs in 40 minutes. The whole time he was professional and courteous. At one point I engaged him in an off-topic conversation that took him away from the job but he was nice enough to humor me in a good natured way. I would hire him again for sure.

Paul was quick to answer my message and set up a date when he could complete the job. I am very happy with his quality work. Sorry for not writing this review sooner.

Paul was professional, on time, assessed the problems, answered our questions, explained and gave a price before starting work. What more can you ask for? They worked neat, clean and fast and the price was reasonable. I would not hesitate to use this contractor again.
