I chose another contractor.

I was impressed that someone was answering phones on a Saturday when I called to schedule an appointment. As in other reviews - our appointment was rescheduled... Although I was told on the phone they could look at all of the items that we need repaired - the provider just wanted to sell us a new roof and wasn't interested in the other items that we need repaired. After this provider gave us a $6,000 estimate - we had another company listed on Angie's List come out who gave us an estimate of $675 which included the other items that we need repaired. BIG DIFFERENCE! I wouldn't recommend this company based on our experience.

Their service was excellent. They were all very professional! From the person that came out that I interviewed to find out about the windows to the installer. It was just an overall very, very positive experience.

work was excellent and we have received numerous compliments on the projects. crew came on time and clean-up was through. they back up their work if you have a problem. one negative is they do not work on Saturday so start your project with adequate time if rain is expected. .

Our home had original wood windows that we needed to replace (21 in total). We had a few estimates given by other window companies in the past that were outrageously high. I found Dura-plex on Anguses List and made an appointment for an estimate. The quote was exceptionally low compared to their competitors for what I believed to be a comparable window plus they have been in business a long time and they had good reviews so I decided to go with them. In addition, the representative was on time, very knowledgable and didn't try to up sell me or wow me with testimonials and light and heat tricks like some other companies we had interviewed before. The windows were installed apprx 4-6 weeks later: they look good, are easy to clean, keep the house at a comfortable temperature, reduce/eliminate noise from the outside as appropriate and the price was right, so overall I'm pleased. The problem I had with this experience overall was with the installers they use. My installer came about a week after the representative to get measurements and told me, very confidently, it would take him two days to install. I was very surprised it would only take two days and challenged him on it because he was going to work alone and there were 21 windows, some of these windows were very large but he assured me that he has been doing this a long time and this was an easy job. The first day he arrived, he installed 5 windows(the smaller ones)...you do the math - 21 windows/5 = 4 days of work. Now I'm worried. He tells me he'll bring a friend to help the next day. Who is this friend? Is he licensed? This isn't what we discussed. I believe they worked from 6:30am until 9:30 that evening. As you can imagine this was a mad rush to get all of these windows installed, dropping things, breaking things, pulling windows out and moving on to other windows before replacing the one that was removed. This all made me feel uneasy that theses wouldn't be installed properly. Before he leaves, he tells me that he needs to order two parts for me when he gets back to the office - I understand, things like this happen. My parts arrived about a month later(mid-November) and were just installed (mid-January). The hold up was due to the fact the installers they use don't work weekends (I thought this was a poor economy?) and they sometimes decide not to show up for work. The person who installed my parts was a gentleman that works in the office that understood my frustration and decided to show some initiative. If they hire professional and reliable installers I may decide to use this company again because they have good product - well, at least it seems to be 3 months later. We'll see how it is on a year.

We had storm damage and got some estimates for work to be performed.They came, actually arrived early, and worked up an estimate. He said he would send it to me and I had to call and have someone resend it since I never received the first one. They were professional but didn't come in at a number we werecomfortable with.

The salesman arrived early for the appointment and was insulted that I had another contractor on site taking measurements. He told me I "was going about this the wrong way" which I later found out meant that he thought I shouldn't be getting estimates from contractors who didn't own a bricks and mortar business and in his words "worked out of the back of a truck". This exchange left a bad taste in my mouth but I wanted the estimate anyway so walked around the property with him describing in detail the siding and trim replacement work we needed. At the end of the meeting he said he'd have to send someone back to take measurements. I was puzzled at why he would even bother to come out to give and estimate but couldn't take measurements while he was there. I told him he could come back anytime to get the measurements and that I was looking for the estimate by the end of April (within 2 weeks). I had to call the company back on several occasions over the next 6 weeks to get the estimate which he finally gave me over the phone at $38K. I asked for details to be sent (email, fax, mail, anything) which he promised would be sent the following week. The details never arrived. I would never deal with this company again. The salesman was pretty condescending and needs to polish his skills. The company's management should set some standards for following up with potential customers.

This is the second time I've used them for window replacements, and I would work with them again if I had the occasion.

They gave estimates and recommended the door/windows from their stock provider. This was not what I initially wanted but I took their recommendation and I am so glad that I did. The installation took one day and they cleaned and removed all debris, vacuumed all around the work areas, etc.

The work was satisfactory. It was a good experience. The price was well worth what they did.

The job was done well and in a timely manner. I do recall that the company came out promptly when I called. They went over all my options, prepared an estimate and completed the work. I was very satisfied with the job that was done and wouldn't hesitate to use them again. As for the cost, I don't recall exactly but believe it was in the area of $15-16,000. It was not the lowest estimate but not the highest either. I was comfortable with the people I dealt with at Dura Plex and did enough research myself at the time to know that I was not dealing with a fly by night company.

I love them. I trust them. I think their prices are fair and they aren?t trying to oversell you. They back up their work if you have any problems.

The work was great. The salesperson was wonderful. If I ever need windows again, I would without hesitation go back to them. They were responsive in coming back out to show me how to operate one of the windows.

The work was done about 5 years. Everything turned out fine and we are still very happy with the windows, the doors, and the siding. They did great work. They did the work in February and they were strategic in their planning to make sure nothing was left open for too long with the cold outside. We were very happy with their work.

Dura Plex did a very good with my siding. The gutter was subcontracted out, and I’m having a little trouble with the gutters at the moment. However, the company will be back out shortly to resolve the issue.

I have had leaks since they did the job. They came three different times to repair the leaks, and one time, they did not promise that it would not leak but promised to fix it when it leaked. I got so frustrated that I called the guy who put in my skylights and he has attempted to repair and done well. A number of the windows that Dura Plex installed have also leaked. I feel that they are specifically preying on senior citizens and I am 69 years old. What I understand is that, when they did the re-roofing, they did not do flashing around the places that were necessary. They are losers. I would not recommend them to anyone in my family or even to my worst enemy.

They were very friendly and very flexible. They haven’t been trying to hassle me.
