Derek was great. Showed up on time, very knowledgeable about my project and have helpfully suggestions. I had a problem the year I was suppose to get the patio done and had to wait for this year and he still honored by Angie's List discount.

We found Sun Viking on Angie’s List as a highly recommended company. They were hired to edge and border our landscaping, create two large planter boxes, redo our front walkway and create a side landscaped area with tress. All I have to say is phenomenal job. Not only was everything completed beyond my expectations but Derek, the owner, and David were highly professional and courteous. They were able to save the original stones from the walkway and reuse them, keeping the old charm to our house. David even used the left-over stones to fill in a hole my dog did and made him a little patio. I don’t know about the other companies, because they never called me back, but I think Sun Viking is the best. We are thinking of a backyard patio in the future and I will no doubt hire them to complete. I am told that is there specialty. Great work and thanks.

Derek, Dave and team were superb from beginning to end. We started with a well designed paver patio by Derek and were excited to see the patio design include a sitting wall and a very well put together plan of how our new space would look. Once our job began Dave and his crew began work promptly and arrived early every day the weather allowed including Saturdays. This was really nice because no one likes that construction phase and they did their best to make it as short as possible. We now have a completed patio that we love and will enjoy for years and years to come... My thanks and compliments to a job well done!

The entire project went fantastic. Derek and Dave were awesome. Derek is the owner and dealt with him through all the estimating of my project. He answered all my questions in a timely manner and we easily the most knowledgeable about doing the hardscape work my wife and I wanted completed. He wasn't the cheapest of the quotes I received but that isn't why we selected him. He was going to do the best job and we were definitely glad about our decision. During the project Derek stepped back and Dave took aver and nothing changed. He was always on time and again answers every question we had and was helpful during the entire process. Everyday when I came home my yard was one step closer to being finished and always cleaned up after themselves. They treated my project like it was there own. I would recommend them for any project and can't wait till we get to work with Derek, Dave and his entire sun Viking team!

Our front entry steps were cracked and pulling from house. In addition they were originally installed with a bad pitch, water flowed toward home. Derek from sun Viking came to my home for the estimate and after having 3 other estimates Derek was the only contractor who actually identified the actual problem and explained to me that simply veneering the steps would not correct it. I hired Sun Viking primarily due to Derek's knowledge and although the price was more than we budgeted for we went for it (We budgeted $6500 for the job). WE COULD NOT BE HAPPIER!!!! This company exceeded my expectations by doing the little things like pouring footers and rebuilding the steps from the ground up they also installed conduit line for adding step lighting or landscape lights to the homes front later on. His employees were punctual and polite. They explained things to me if I had questions as the job progressed. The finished product is just stunning and we have already received compliments from neighbors. Thank You Derek and the Sun Viking team!!!

Derek is great to work with very easy going and cares about doing a quality job. He communicated great the whole time with us and make the adjustments that we needed to our plan as he carried out the project. He kept us informed with everything going on during the construction and we learned a lot about how to take care of our new paver patio. His pricing was very fair and he uses high-quality materials. We had some other projects going on at the same time and his team was able to coordinate with them as well.

I used Angie's List to help my daughter and her husband find a landscaper to completely replace all their existing trees & shrubs. Sun Viking seemed to receive high grades so they gave Derek a call, ultimately hiring Sun Viking to do the work - and they couldn't be happier. The extent of work included digging out and disposing all existing shrubs and trees along the front and sides of their house, adding a small planting bed in the front of their house along with a short wall made of stacked flat stones to surround it, and planting new shrubs and trees. My daughter and son-in-law were so impressed with Derek's professionalism and his hard-working team. He showed up at appointments on time, provided estimates quickly, and followed up on questions. When work began his team came early, often stayed late, and always cleaned up the area each night - and everything turned out great.

Great experience with this company! Sun Viking was extremely responsive and communicative from the start. The estimate was in line with other estimates we received, and we ended up paying exactly what was originally quoted. The workers were professional and courteous and cleaned up the work area every day before leaving. The restored patio looks amazing - we absolutely love it! We would definitely hire Sun Viking again.

Derek Starts responded quickly to our initial email inquiry for a quote on a stone patio for our home. Afterward, he visited our home, assessed our desired plan, and provided a competitive and reasonable estimate to construct a paving stone patio for us. Derek and his crew dealt with extremely difficult weather conditions (high humidity and 93-95?) while digging the foundation and constructing the patio. But even under these circumstances all were well-trained and professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and accommodating to modest changes to the plan. The crew was also exceptionally neat during construction, and cleaned up the site daily. The patio was finished within two days, and is exceptionally well-built and attractive. Lastly, Derek and his crew laid sod around the perimeter of the patio, and provided us with specific instructions as to appropriate care and maintenance of the grass. The grass is currently thriving, and the patio looks terrific.

We got a number of quotes for this work but decided to go with Sun Viking because of Derek's responsiveness. We find that many contractors these days turn up late to estimate appointments without letting us know and then we have to remind them to get us a proposal. Derek always arrived on time and gave us a head's up that he was on his way. He got the proposal to us within a few days and then came back out to go over the job again before we signed the contract. The price was very competitive. Once the work began, we requested some additional work and Derek worked with us to go over our options and give us a price. The workers were very polite and knowledgeable. We are very happy with the final product. Derek came back out after all the work had been completed to go over it and discuss watering the sod etc. We would definitely use them again.

Contractor was responsive professional and came up with some great suggestions. Budget issues prevented us from moving forward with the improvements but we wil use Sun Viking when we have the work done and would definitely recommend them.

They were responsive and polite. They did a plan for me but it’s more than I can spend at the moment and will continue the project at a later date.

Derrick was great to work with. He gave great advise re. direction of project, and was very responsive. He was in communication from beginning to end. My walkway is very long and wide, and was in awful condition. My new walkway is beautiful, an amazing transformation! I had not envisioned that it could look this wonderful. Everything was cleaned up as well, with no damage to my property, or project debris left behind. I am so glad I used Sun Viking!

Remade my brick walkway. They were great. Derek communicated through e-mail each step of the process. They worked with my budget and were creative problem-solvers.? I'm very pleased and would definitely use them again.

Derek communicated well and offered to try to accommodate my needs but this was not a job his company normally did. I need to investigate other options.

Derek provided a quick estimate, and started the job on the day he stated, completing it also in the time frame he estimated. There were some changes to the work order requiring more material which he worked with me on. The topsoil and seed are covered with a layer of hay now to prevent birds and washout, but I believe that he also removed a few large root balls from large bushes that had been removed. He provided advice on the maintenance of the seeding process, which was helpful. The job is still very young and the seed has yet to germinate, but assuming it does so the experience so far has been very good. I would call him again for major landscaping projects.

He did come to look at the property. He told me repeatedly the ad was misleading, the waited 4 days to tell me this wasn't thekind of job he was interested in. Overall waist of time and money.
