Continue to get water in basement under deck in a walkout stair area. Gary hire to install 2 basin with single sump pump in second basin. remove 1700 sq. ft. of concrete area above due to settlement & install paver according to EP Henry as he stated he completed a EP Henry class. Basins installed. Second basin not level. remove concrete patio area with small machine & left track in surrounding grass. Stated, will address grass at end. Gary stated that EP Henry base of 4-6in not needed & his crushed crete will become hard after wet. Did not agree but he would guarantee for a year. No forms, string or board were used to level & square area. Cut over 10% of paver & some pavers installed low & uneven. Picture in court to show such areas. Call Gary about 3 weeks after stop over to view problems in June after completing job in March. Grandson trip twice & area was not safe. Working to repair disturb grass around patio from the concrete removal, Gary cut a clean off top of vent pipe from my septic that backed up into my house. Would not pay for repair. The grass was replace by sod but after completed entire job, stated he will not reduce price or pay for area. Forward a check $393.00 for that work to assure he would come back to repair pavers. Area not slope away from house. Water issue not address. Gary never show for repairs & remove my home from Thumbtack due to litigation. I would not recommend. as require by NJ., ALL work listed & good luck to support that document.
Description of Work: Due to concrete patio area that crack & settled, it allow water to flow toward stairs of walk out basement area under deck. During heavy rain water would leak in to basement door.

I hired Garry N Moore, owner of General Contractor Co. to replace my old front porch with a new concrete porch. First Garry who took 50% advance and did not turn up on the promised date. After a delay of approximately a week he started the work and the work he did a very lousy job and is much below par. Some problems are: The floor has not been properly leveled, the step is not uniform, and the surrounding areas (walls, doors, sidings, floors, etc) have been left with concrete spot and marks and some pillars are also damaged. The working areas has not been cleaned. The final product is much worse than the old replaced floor. The new floors have been left with stain marks of blue color. Also the pillars supporting the roof which were earlier standing on the concrete floor were now place on wooden slabs popping out above the new concrete floor. Looks like Gary did not pour the right level of concrete. In a summary the new concrete porch is looking much worse than the old one. I have already approached other contractors and am in the process of obtaining new quote for either repairing it or demolishing and replacing it new. One cannot imagine my frustration with his work. When I called Garry to express my dissatisfaction he became very aggressive and stated he does not care about the reviews and complaints (using the word s***). I would recommend taking every precaution and enough reference before hiring Garry or General Contractors Co. for any concrete related project.

Garry Moore of General Contractors Co. came to my home and provided me with a comprehensive service/estimate detailing the cost of materials and labor to complete the job. Mr. Moore was very professional and courteous while providing us with his expert opinion. Mr. Moore assisted us in the decision making that catered to our specific needs and the curb appeal we were desiring. The estimate was agreed upon and a Contractor Agreement was finalized. General Contractors did a very good job and completed the job in a timely fashion. Upon completing the job, Mr. Moore called me back to let me know that he would like to schedule a day to come to my home and reinspect everything for fit and finish. I have been very pleased with the overall services provided by Mr. Moore and General Contractors Co. I would definitely recommend their services to others and also plan on utilizing their services in the future.
Description of Work: The services provided by General Contractors Co. included removal of old bushes, plants and landscaping pavers. New and improved landscaping pavers were installed in addition to new bushes and plants. Additionally, my old wood fence was removed and replaced with quality vinyl fencing.

Garry Moore, the proprietor of General Contractors Co., came to our house on a weekend to give us an estimate. He was extremely friendly, very fast-talking and gave somewhat of a hard sell. His price was nearly impossible to beat so we went with him. He started the job earlier than expected. When I came home after a few hours into the job, the stone pad for the trash cans was not the way we had discussed. Garry quickly came over and rectified the situation. Anytime during the two day job that I had a concern or a change I wanted to make, Garry was more than happy to oblige. And he had some good ideas as well that we appreciated. The step off of the garage door looks great, and they did a nice job with using the leftover pavers and blue slate we already had. He left us with instructions to buy some stone dust and keep sweeping it in for a couple of days. I suppose this is great for the do-it-yourselfer who is looking to save a few bucks. I think I personally would have rather paid a little extra and had Garry finish the job he started. I got the stone dust but haven't swept it in yet. Some pavers are loose and I am hoping the stone dust will secure them, but overall the quality of the job is not great. Concrete was poured around some edges, but not all. I think this was a way to cut corners. The parging job looks great in some places, and uneven in others. I have already found cracks and places where it is crumbling near the mulch. Garry was careful about working around the many plants I have along the house, but he got wet concrete everywhere! He told me not to worry that the first rain would wash it off, but that didn't happen. I have concrete drips on many of my plants, a big mess along the railings of our back steps. Garry told me that parging is a mesy job and that he didn't want to cover my plants in this heat. It is difficult to know if another company could have been more neat. The bottom line is, you get what you pay for.

They were very good and professional. They were a little expensive but we would probably use them again if we needed to.
Description of Work: General Contractors did handyman work for us. He replaced our front door lock.
I contacted Garry from a flyer to do rehabilitation landscaping on our newly purchased 30yr old 1 acre home. There had been a torrential rainstorm, and as he came up to me in the yard, he heard me talking with another service person about the water incursion into the crawl space. He joined in, walked over to the back wall, and with a little probing found holes along the back wall. After listening to his plan and hiring him for the wall work, when he dug it out we found the support beam rotting, and cement blocks of the foundation disintegrating. In 5 days, in inclement weather, he repaired the problem. He left the property clean and free of debris, answered all our questions, and is now working on the landscaping job. We are lucky he overheard our water problem!
Description of Work: Garry discovered the entry source of water into our 5000sf crawl space, while other professionals wanted to treat the symptoms (wet crawl space) not the problem. He excavated a 35x1ft trench, parged the wall, applied thinset and waterproofing, laid a perforated drainage pipe, backfilled with stone, and reset the patio pavers and the window's brick trimwork. He replaced all the pavers to their original condition, and left the property broomswept....and dry!
